I ordered a surf and turf burrito for takeout. I show up they had me down for a shrimp burrito, not an issue. I corrected them and they made me a surf and turf, I asked if there was carne asada and they said yes. I was thoroughly disappointed with the crazy amount of sauce they had in the small burrito along with the bland shredded beef that was not carne asada. The food here is basic. The potato tacos are a joke, they are basically a hash brown in a tortilla. So that might be appealing to some, but I was looking for some authenticity. As far as the fish tacos, I'd choose rubios over Pedro's any day. The drive thru is usually pretty busy, but the service is quick. I eat here when I'm in a hurry and don't have time to seek out something better, but other than that I'd say it's a hard pass. read more

Meh. It's really basic. Not really much to rave about. Some people really like this place but I've found their food pretty bland and just not really much of an experience to eat. It's food but to say it's good food and worth the money would be a lie... very expensive for what you get. Better places for the price for sure! I have went here a few times, because it has a drive thru and is convientent. However, on two occasions after eating the carne Asada tacos, I became very sick with stomach pains and diarrhea . If youre ever in Fallbrook you should visit Pedro's Tacos. Its an incredibly tiny restaurant that stands on its own. The decor of the restaurant is very surfer like except no ocean in sight. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly. They really knew their stuff and knew what was in every thing we ordered. I ordered a chicken burrito and really enjoyed it. Their food seems to have the right amount of spices. All I can say is I cant wait for my next visit back to this restaurant. Got a carne asada burrito and a set of 3 rolled tacos. Overall, the food was average at best. First the tacos. They were packaged in a paper and foil wrap. I prefer the foam tray to let the cheese and guac melt together. The tacos were dry and the meat was drier, in spite of being wrapped up. On to the burrito. The carne asada burrito tortilla was undercooked and chewy. The meat was thoroughly cooked, medium rare is more preferable. The pieces were small, like pellets. I prefer longer strips for carne asada. The guac was a bright spot. The sauce packets were lackluster. I tried my kid's quesadilla and the tortilla was equally undercooked and chewy. Average at best. In LA we shut Mexican food down! Based on the reviews I ordered the Carne Asada burrito and a quesadilla. It was alright. Nothing to write home about. I wanted to like the burrito but I couldn't. The quesadilla just didn't have enough cheese on it. I understand it's only $1.49, but I could get a better one at Del Taco for 50 cents. Add more cheese! I tried Pedros in Oceanside and hated it...very confused on why everyone loved it so much. Then a friend took me to this location and I REALLY enjoyed it. In Oceanside they give you a pre-packaged salsa...thought that was crazy for California. But in Fallbrook you get a salsa bar. The burritos cost less here and the staff was friendly and helpful. Pedro's Tacos is odd. It looks like it belongs on Highway 101 and not off Highway 76. The building looks like it was once used to serve burgers & shakes with girls on roller skates handing them out. I really like their breakfast burritos! My favorite is their steak, egg, bean and cheese! I also recommend the fish tacos, shrimp tacos & shrimp quesadillas, Yum! Prices are reasonable and the hot sauce is delicious! Make sure to order extra, it's unique. Their guacamole is more like a green sauce then a paste or chunky version but still good. I try to make it a point to try something new every time. I've only been disappointed once, it was a write in burrito, I forget the name something like "Santos crazy creation burrito" it had carne asada, cabbage, guacamole, cheese, sour cream & salsa fresco. I remember in high school, leaving school after 5th period as a senior, and scrounging through my Volvo, with all its weird stickiness that had accrued for longer than I had been alive, just to find the $2 necessary for me to fill myself up on Pedro's. Times have changed. I don't drive a car that's older than me, and you take cards on orders of $5 or more (oh glorious day is this!!!). But the stuff that's important, the fish tacos, the potato burritos, and most importantly your sausage breakfast burrito with added potato, all taste the same and are amazing. Its mandatory that whenever I'm visiting my mom I get to have a Pedro's breakfast burrito (even if it means I have to leave LA waaaay earlier in the morning than I care to), because despite all my efforts to find your match in LA I have been unable to do so (El Gran Burrito really has made a valiant effort though). I love this little place. It is right by the hardware store and liquor store off of Main Street. I go here after work a lot, and the ladies that work inside are always so nice! I usually get either the 99 cent bean and cheese burrito or the famous fish taco. The bean and cheese burrito is great especially for only a buck, and the fish taco is also delicious. Its a big taco with a nice piece of fish and crispy cabbage. Delicious!!! An average Mexican that has alright food. I tried the carne asada burrito & I didn't like it that much because the burrito was dropping grease which it never happened with other places. Like the service was fast, but the beef inside look liked it was going to separate like by itself. The Pico de Gallo & guacamole were both alright. The only thing that did look good was there fish tacos & the cheap prices, but grease dropping on a burrito is a no no because I want my burrito to be well cooked, with very small amounts of grease dropping not medium amounts. read more

I grew up in San Clemente and was around when Señor Pedro's first opened there. It was opened by the owner of another San Clemente food institution called Mr. Pete's. The carne asada burritos are as good now as they were in high school. We used to rush over during lunch from high school to get a burrito and get back for fifth period just in time. Now I take my family to the one in Fallbrook. The addition of breakfast burritos has given Pedro's even more variety. For a fast and cheap burrito or taco in Fallbrook they cannot be beat. You can choose between fried or fresh seasoned pan cooked items when it comes to fish, shrimp or veggie options to fill tacos or burritos. 4 1/2 - stars! Since I can't do the 1/2 star I lean it towards 5-star. Their 'Famous Fish Taco' is excellent! This place puts Rubios to shame, as far as I am concerned. Ever since trying their fish taco, which is meatier (fishier), tastier and less expensive than Rubios, I am hooked (no pun intended). The only items I purchase here are the fish tacos and the bean & cheese burritos (.99!). The beans are home made style and get your mouth watering right away (so you know they put real lard in the mix). I guess I am a creature of habit - when I find something I like I stick to it (irritates the wife, though) So, I can not really comment on their other menu items, but I would presume they are also good. I hear their breakfast burritos are very good. The girls/ladies who work the counter and kitchen are all very friendly & bilingual. Place is clean and the small outdoor seating area overlooks Main Ave. The only down side to this excellent "fast food" place is their weak prepackaged hot sauce. If they would make their own, or buy an alternative brand that had an authentic salsa taste then I'd kick this place up, officially, to a 5-star! read more
