Came to Roberto's in Fallbrook to grab breakfast burritos for my team, and overall had a solid experience! There was plenty of parking, which made the pickup easy. The menu options were pretty simple, which is totally fine when you're just trying to get a good breakfast burrito. Heads up: it's cash only! Thankfully my buddy had his debit card and was able to pull cash from the ATM inside definitely saved the day. The service was simple and quick, and we were in and out without any hassle. The burritos were generously packed, which I really appreciated, and their hot sauce was amazing super spicy and flavorful, exactly what I was hoping for. Very very disappointed and for those of you who know me it's very difficult for me to give one star! First of all if you call not a soul will answer, second when you order in the Drive-Thru you do expect to pay for the food that you ordered if a person orders a bean burrito they do not want a carne asada burrito which I'm sure is very very good the problem is for a vegetarian that carne asada burrito is not a good sign. We asked the young man to check it so I guess it goes down to the old saying make sure you get what you pay for and don't go through the drive-thru. This place is great. They have a ton of menu options and plenty of room to sit, outside and inside. They are cash only, however they have an ATM inside which means you can order even if you only have a credit card. The cashier was very nice and I got my food quickly. And the food is amazing! 9/30/19 I'm sorry to have to write this review of one of my most favorite spots for a Carne Asada Burrito. Our Grandson's Travel baseball game took us to Fallbrook yesterday. He had a 1:00 and 3:00 game. My husband and I purposely came without snacks as we wanted to save our appetites for Robertitos. We have been customers of this hole in the wall Mexican restaurant since 1994!!! I have never been disappointed until yesterday. I walked in and was greeted promptly. Friendly young man and very efficient. We placed our order and I asked for their restroom. He pointed me the direction of between the counter and next to the cooking area. Since we were at the ball-field all day I needed the restroom. I had to. I was so disgusted with the few steps I took toward the restroom as the floors were filthy. I cannot believe this place gets a grade high enough to keep their doors open!!! It was filthy!!! I took photos as evidence but really recommend the health department come and help these guys clean up their store before somebody gets sick. When I returned to pick up our food, I couldn't and didn't eat the burrito I had ordered. Well, I tried to eat and the burrito was so doughy, and cold and tasteless.... the meat was cold, and there really wasn't anything good about it. Honestly I do not think I could ever step foot into this place again. I am not here to bash or shame this company as I've been a customer for close to 25 years, but somethings got to be done. It's just dirty!!! Kitchen area, restrooms, dining area, etc. I hate to think how that food is mishandled. How do these people get any kind of passing grade from the health Dept? I don't know why the the most unwelcoming taco shops have some of the best tasting food!!! So this small taco shop has a drive thru menu that is literally 10 yards away from the pick up window lol. The dining area is clean. At least the dining tables were. The floors were so/so. Definitely a good place to visit if you have tons of quarters. There are a few classic arcade games, huge jukeboxes and vending machines from some of the most random toys and candy. Now to the food. I noticed the people that came before me were eating rolled tacos and tacos. I was skeptical about ordering carne asada chips but was happy I did. It was a huge tray filled to the edges. Only thing I didn't like was that it came with beans - damn! My fault, should have asked. For less than $9 cash - (they only accept cash) it was filling and surprisingly delicious. Had a side of hot carrots for the up sell price of 50 cents... The horchata was good and very flavorful. Sometimes at other taco shops I find the taste lacking... The cashier and the helper were friendly and very accommodating. I'll be back for sure when craving taco shop food. I'll remember to bring change to play some games and music. Unfortunately they didn't have "Chingo Bling" available... I would have kept it on repeat! lol I noticed there were a few flies inside that I kept trying to keep away from my food... but it's common in Fallbrook - don't know why but they are so damn huge! I would love to give this place a great review, but honestly I can't. I ordered a burrito, enchilada, and horchata. This place messed it up in ways I didn't think were possible (the owner was horrible). The new owner yelled at me when I was not happy about how the horchata, that in my opinion tasted like soap. I asked to swap it and told me I was wrong and it was fine. Then I go back to let the "owner" know my enchiladas were tossed all around. Then he proceeded to tell me it was me messing with it and started to progress his tone at me, getting super aggressive towards me. Which why would I do this on purpose when I payed for it, just to have the owner yell at me when I was letting him know how my meal was tossed around. Anyways all I'm here to say is the owner didn't even try to apologize or work with me but rather yell at me and flaunt that he's the owner. This used to be for many years my go to drive thru Mexican in Fallbook. Recently they had a very significant price increase. For example 2 Burritos are now about $30 cash only. That would be more tolerable if the food was still tasty as it once was. Last two visits we took a few bites and threw away our food. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was literally drowning in orange grease. Literally an inch of grease that of course spilled before arriving home and was inedible. My last order which was today contained no salsa which they always add 4-6. I even asked new guy and he said he put in. I also asked for flour tortillas and got corn and fried jalapeño but gave me and charged me for 2 bags of the pickled ones after I inquired if they were in the bag. It seemed deliberate and the nice longtime efficient employee is apparently no longer employed. Again grease literally dripping and burrito dry and tasteless. No wonder there was no longer a line at lunchtime. There are many other choices in town. After 20 years will never go back. read more
