We discovered Dinner on our last night in Bar Harbor and had a truly outstanding meal. Made us wish that we had discovered them (or their sister restaurant 'Lunch') sooner. We ordered the Curry Baked Haddock, the White Bean and Coconut, and the carrot cake for dessert. Every dish was truly incredible. As others have said, we've eaten at a lot of great restaurants in our lives and this meal stands out. Our server, Debbie, was also terrific. FYI, they are open year round!! :)

Came here for a dinner with my husband. We made a reservation in advance, it's a small place and was full. They had almost no spots available. So if you want to go there, definitely will need a reservation. We had a salad to share, scallops, mushroom crostini, and chicken for main. All food was fresh and tasty. We also had some wine. They have a decent wine selection. Overall place is very nice and inviting. Service was friendly. Definitely a nice dinner place to visit.

We went here during the tourism offseason and we were just so happy to find something open after an 8 hour drive to Bar Harbor. And wow did this place amaze us. Our food was absolutely delectable and the cozy vibes made everything even better.

The food was rich, flavorful, and original. Service was amazing at the bar with Patrick!! He's such a kind fellow!! It's a dark romantic place!! We were very lucky to walk in and squeeze in at the bar! Get the French onion soup, mushroom crostini , and shrimp in a sauce!!! Yummy!!

Everything was awesome. Very reasonably priced for how great the food was. French onion was delish and was the dinner entrees we got I thought the bean dip was good. service was great you could tell she was working hard she was super funny and honest. My husbands drink was just ok and bar seemed a little slow. we were full so did not have dessert but they looked very good.

    French soup very good

The hostess was very friendly to us (and our dog) and seated us outside. The service here was very quick and friendly. For food - I would say some of the appetizers and entrees are on the smaller side. I had the calamari and while we were told it was for 3 people, it might have been enough for two people at most. My son really liked the meat loaf and said its a great choice for dinner, but the portion wasn't very big. Meanwhile, I had the lobster roll and quite frankly it could have been better. There was very little lobster and too much bread, but they did give us potatoes as well. I enjoyed my dinner at McKays and can say they have good food with great service.

We were excited to eat at a higher end restaurant for our last night of vacation, but the food was just not good. The restaurant is very cute, and i really love the decor of it. They seated us by a window upstairs which was lovely, but it didn't make up for the food. Our waitress was also just OK. The whole experience was meh. We ordered the pretzels and beer cheese to start since she mentioned it was homemade. The pretzel just wasn't that good at all. Pretty flavorless. I was going to order a seafood meal but settled on the chicken piccata. My husband had the burger, my son had the kid's mac and cheese, and my daughter ordered the dry rub chicken wings. I think they best meal out of them all was the kid's mac and cheese. My chicken piccata was just swimming in the sauce that I tried to scrape some off to the side. I don't know if there was something wrong with the chicken or the sauce, but I got SO sick after eating here. The wings were also overly seasoned and overwhelming. My husband thought his burger was forgettable and basic. WIth so many other great restaurant options in Bar Harbor, I think McKays can be skipped for sure.

We ordered several dishes and were thoroughly impressed. We started with the tostada, which featured wonderfully smoky brisket with a richness reminiscent of pork belly. Our summer salad with whipped feta was also delicious. The "Gambas" shrimp appetizer was probably our favorite of the night, full of layered buttery, spicy flavors reminiscent of an Indian curry. We also loved the mussels appetizer, served in a briny broth simmered with smoked pork and chorizo. The seasoning and flavor profiles of every dish were surprising and exceeded our expectations. We all agreed that Havana is a must try for all foodies!

Businesses may not require certificates, registration, or documentation. I'm sharing this in hopes that you can be better informed and that future guests with service animals do not experience the same situation. We eventually got seated, and you never came by our table to apologize. The food wasn't great eighter, my halibut was dry, and for this price, it should have been much better. Disappointed!

My family and I were enjoying a donut from a place that shares an alley with Testa's and we made the massive mistake of sitting down at a filthy outside table that wasn't being used at the time. Mind you, NONE of the tables were being used at the time. As we had spent about 5 minutes at the table and were finishing our donut, this atrocious and rude individual rolled out and decided to demand us to leave. It wasn't an awareness of, "looks like you are finishing your donut, if you wouldn't mind leaving asap, that would be appreciated". Nope. It was, "these are our tables and you need to leave". We were finishing our donut... no one around... sitting at a filthy outside table, of which we had no clue (we are tourists) belonged to his restaurant. If this guy is indicative of the kind of attitude and treatment you would get actually dining there, AVOID! We were actually considering eating there, tonight. NOPE! Read the room, guy!

Now if you are in search of seafood and/or lobster during a visit to Bar Harbor you could throw a stone in any direction and find numerous options. Some family recommended checking out this spot. Both my wife and I started out with a blueberry margarita that was fantastic. Then for food we both decided on the lobster tacos which comes with an order of two. They did not skimp on the lobster at all and this spot created such a tasty taco I would return for them. Granted the appetizer of a lobster poutine sounded delicious too! The ambiance and overall vibes is good, outside they have many picnic tables to enjoy the sights/sounds of Bar Harbor. Inside they have a couple different areas but a welcoming atmosphere overall. Despite the heat and the fact Bar Harbor is busy during the summer, service was quick as well as friendly. Had no complaints for our visit! Great first visit here!

We did get food to go, but our hotel was just steps away. So not a long journey from the restaurant to our room. We ordered the lobster nachos. It was not edible and they were so expensive. I was looking forward to getting some lobster, but didn't want a lobster roll and thought this would do it. First of all-- everything was mush. Not even soggy, but like all mush and disintegrated. I can deal with soggy-- it's take out so I don't have high expectations for fresh food. But the chips literally dissolved. There was also no cheese? I don't understand how you can have nachos with no cheese. Also, was advertised with sour cream and there was no sour cream. Lastly, I had lobster earlier today at a different restaurant. It tasted so fresh. This lobster was different. Almost like it was bad or even like a little gamey. I didn't eat but that one piece because I'm afraid I might get food poisoning-- something was just off. I'm not very hard to please and will eat pretty much anything from anywhere. The fact that I wouldn't eat the food (especially after paying $32) says a lot. I literally told my husband I would've rather had McDonald's Giving 2 stars only bc the guy on the phone who took our order was super nice.

The toast was our favorite dish all week, with the mushrooms being perfectly cooked and the chèvre bringing a creaminess and slight funk to the dish. It was all delicious, and flavors were well-balanced, meaning acids and fats were paired well together. Food presentation was exceptional. Service was incredible, in that our waiter answered all of our questions and food came quickly. Additionally, my wife and I showed up at 5:30 and were promptly seated. I think being offset from the main intersection some helps with crowds. Ambiance was top tier with the water feature and greenery.
