Tried Pete's Coffee's new seasonal drink, the Iced Vanilla Latte with Ube Dream Top. Honestly, it was just okay. It tasted very similar to a regular vanilla latte, and I didn't really notice much of a difference. The ube whipped topping sounded exciting, but I couldn't really taste anything distinct there either. That said, it was still a solid drink overall, smooth and enjoyable, just not as unique as I expected. If you already like their vanilla latte, you'll probably like this too, but don't expect a big flavor upgrade. read more

It was my first time at this location. Order through the mobile app I arrived before my drink was finished per my app status. I noticed the barista was not making any more drinks and everyone was just cleaning and refilling the ice. When I arrived, I checked the display if my drink was there. This entire time it was there however the label was unclear, which was annoying because I waited for no reason while my drink was getting cold. I had to ask them if my drink was ready assuming I was a mind reader and could read these labels that didn't print clearly. A simple as re-printing the label would've made all the difference or changing it so the print had ink to print clear clearly would have been an easy fix. I get the most irritated when other people touch drinks that are not there is trying to read the label. And I was not about to check all the drinks and touch others. What a complete fail. read more

We visited Pets Coffee this morning for the first time. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The staff member who took our order got it wrong, and when we went back to fix it, the drink we received had cold coffee with milk simply poured on top--it was not prepared properly. Additionally, the staff member displayed a really poor attitude when we tried to resolve the issue. Everyone else we interacted with was friendly, but this particular employee clearly needs training in customer service, especially when dealing with first-time visitors. We hope management addresses this, as it was our first visit and we were excited to try a local favorite. read more

Although Peet's Coffee is a few and in between; definitely one of my favorites compared to Starbucks. It is a 20 -- 30 minutes drive for me to get to a Peet's Coffee but well worth the travel. Very popular and also gets very crowded. Wait times can get very long depending on the time frame. Free WiFi available, there's music playing but it's very loud inside. I have tried many of their drinks, including seasonal drinks but my all time favorite would the Chai Tea Latte; refreshing and delicious. Their food selection is great, many great options but my favorite is the Chicken Chorizo Flatbread. Many drinks and food items worth trying, would highly recommend. read more

So, i had to switch up my coffee spot since Philz decided to become a sell out so decided to try Peet's. This Peet's happens to be on my way to work and best part, they too have an app for mobile ordering. I typically put my order in for pick up BEFORE i leave my house and i live in hayward. I always do mobile ordering and it is NEVER ready at the time. Today was the first time i asked about my coffee - mind you at 7:39- when it was supposed to be ready at 7:30 - it was partially ready. I asked andrew who was already being pestered by others about their coffee which i get - it can be overwhelming- but his response is what irritated me. I asked if he happen to know when my coffee was going to be ready because it was supposed to be ready by 7:30 and his response "everyone's drink was supposed to be ready by 7:30" .... i literally was speechless - a better response would've been "I appreciate your patience but we're a bit backed up" but i guess they just don't care about customer service at Peet's. This place was been closed temporarily and I later came back realizing that they completely renovated it for a better cafe experience. I really think that this atmosphere is much better than the old one, which is too outdated and needs a change. They removed a doorway that allows people to come in for mobile pick ups, which I think it's better that way since to me, it's pointless having one there. The menus displayed are digital replacing the old ones that aren't. I think it's due to coming to an age where technology is very reliant for most businesses. I have no complaints about it at all. I used to frequent Peet's a couple months back & the ambiance was a lot different than I remember. My most recent visit made me pretty certain I will not be going back. For one, waiting over 20 minutes for a drink that tastes inconsistent depending on the day and who made it is not worth it. Another thing; not sure if it's new staffing but the workers are pretty unfriendly. I normally give the benefit of the doubt but it's been multiple visits with the same unfriendly faces. My last visit, I ordered an iced vanilla latte and the barista forgot to add syrup to it. I politely let the barista know and she grabbed the drink from my hands and rolled her eyes as she remade it. I understand the store gets busy but I haven't had issues with consistency on this level especially with the horrible attitudes at other spots. I'll go to Philz next time. read more

I was craving coffee and thought I'll drop by to get a cup. I ordered a medium iced coconut black tie and gave them my name. After I paid, I waited at the side by the front door. I waited for around 10 min and still have not heard my name yet. Then I noticed a drink that was just sitting next to the cashier station and no one had bothered to call out the name of the drink or the name of customer who had ordered it. So 5 min later, I walked up to the cashier station, flagged a barista and asked for the name of the drink that was just sitting there. Since the drink matched what I ordered, I grabbed it and left. The management team at Peet's Coffee on Mowry Ave is a mess. A couple weeks ago I tell the shift leader (Alex), my drink is wrong, something is wrong, Alex was not the one that made the drink but she looks at my drink and the order and asks what's wrong and doubts me, I was like, I know something is wrong, there's usually more of the drink. She doubts me, so I leave. Alex did not offer to remake my drink or ask the barista if they followed my precise instructions. I get home and my mother tries my drink, which is suppose to have 5 shots of espresso in it, my mother says, the drink you got yesterday at McDonald's (3 shots) was stronger. So I was right. There was something wrong with my drink. They forgot to add the 2 shots. I come into Peet's the next day, to let the shift leader, Gasper, know what happened on the previous day. I told him, I ordered 2 drinks and they were both made incorrectly and that the shift leader, Alex, refused to acknowledge there was something wrong with the drink. I wanted to order 2 drinks that day and I asked Gasper if he could take care of it, due to what happened the day before. Gasper says, he can comp one of my drinks, but I'd have to pay for the other one. Gasper said, since Alex said no to remaking the drink, he can't say yes cause that would be on him. So I asked if I could speak to Jonathan, the store manager regarding this, and Gasper tells me, no, he was the manager on shift and he's the one enforcing the rules. Gasper also said Alex isn't here today to verify this happened yesterday. So he can't do anything about it. So I pay for my drink. After they make my drink, I ask, if Alex is here next time and can verify this happened, can you comp my drink? And Gasper is like no, since it's days after. So, I was upset and demanded to speak to the store manager. Gasper reached out to Jonathan, the store manager and let him talk to me. I told Jonathan what happened the day before and how Alex doubted me when I said something was wrong with the drink, and didn't offer to remake it, and how the drink I got 2 days ago at McDonald's, the 3 shots were stronger than the 5 shots I ordered. Jonathan listened to my problems and told me the next time I come in wave him down and he will comp my drink. Jonathan said, Gasper gave you one day today, right? I said yes. Jonathan said, he will comp the other drink the next time I see him. I was like great, thank you. Now it's been more than a week, and I have been to Peet's Coffee on Mowry Ave 3 or 4 times and I still haven't seen Jonathan for my comped drink. Jonathan did not tell his leaders or staff about my comped drink, so no one is willing to comp me a single drink. I came in to talk to Alex about this, asking if Jonathan was here, stating because he said he would comp my drink next time because I told him about the experience that I had with you on Sunday. Alex gets all defensive, and raises her voice at me, saying well she's been here for the last 2 days and, Gasper and Ashleigh (the assistant manager) and Jonathan, all of them didn't tell her anything. And how she can't comp my drink and I gotta get that from Jonathan. At the end, she gave me $3 off. I was like thanks. Yesterday, I go in and try to look for Jonathan. And Jonathan was off. So once again, I was no where close to getting my comped drink. I asked, when does Jonathan usually work and the employee was like, they don't know. It's random, sometimes he's here in the morning. I come into Peet's again today. I see Gasper, and I ask Gasper if Jonathan is there. Gasper says no. I explained to him, it's because Jonathan said he would comp my drink next time. And Gasper says, he doesn't know anything about that. I asked can you take care of my drink, (keep in mind, Gasper is the one that got Jonathan into this issue) Gasper says no, he doesn't know anything about it. I said can you call him. As a loyal, frequent customer, I was getting upset and frustrated with the misinformation and false hope I was given. I had looked for Jonathan 3- 4 times that week with no luck and it began to feel like I was never going to get my free drink. I asked Gasper if he could call Jonathan. Gasper said, no, Jonathan's off the clock, we don't call him. I'm like isn't he salary? Then Gasper gets offended, and says, Angela, you do not ask that. That is none of your business. I'm confused why Gasper was reacting this way. I asked a simple question, isn't Jonathan (the store manager position) salary? The question clearly meant, isn't he paid to deal with customer issues at any time. Because if you are a salary worker, you are expected to be available for work reasons at any time. And to my knowledge most store manager positions are salary, and even if Jonathan was an hourly employee, Jonathan could've done a timesheet edit. read more

I went today at ~5:30 and ordered the sparkling lemonade. It did not taste as good as other locations, it was watery/ diluted. The cup it was was not secure and splashed drink on me everyone time I picked it up, even when I checked it - I got a bunch of liquid on my clothes and shoes. Also, the male and female worker around 5:45 said very mean things about a customer, I believe me (because I brought up a security concern about the patio - a male customer was verbally accosting me for several minutes and made a scene). Anyway, the Peet's works went on a very mean verbal tirade, it was incredibly inappropriate. I may file a complaint. I will probably go to Philz next time - better vibe all around. read more

The air conditioning really needs to be adjusted based on the weather outside. It was uncomfortably cold inside, to the point where it was hard to sit and enjoy the space. I will admit, I am a bit spoiled by an excellent espresso machine at home. When I go out and purchase a specialty drink, I am looking for it to be on par with what I make. Nowadays, a latte is approx 6$ which is very steep to be drinking crappy coffee imho. This location seems to always have a line. The variety of specialty latte flavors is very limited compared to competitor chains. The horchata latte I recently tried was bland and came with oat milk by default- I wish the barista would have checked bc I would have opted for regular. All in all, it's a decent option in the plaza if you don't want to wait for Philz but the quality of the drinks as well as the ambiance of the outdoor seating leaves more to be desired. Came in on a Friday morning. The parking lot was not filled, but there were definitely a lot of cars. This Peet's cute and offers an outside patio which is nice for dog owners. The morning looked like it was filled with a lot of regulars! The staff was friendly not only to me, but to the other customers as well and they seemed to know a lot of people's names. (Shows great service!) My drink also came out really quickly even with a little bit of a line. Ordered the cold brew oat latte and loved it! I'm not a big fan of franchise-brand coffee shops but we decided to come to this place and try their holiday drinks. The location is conveniently located near Washington Hospital. Parking is spacious and the place is clean and a lot of tables however it can only seat a couple of people. We ordered their Holiday spice latte. I would say that it's pretty good. It has a touch of cinnamon and was good, especially on a cold morning. The service was fast and we didn't wait long to get our order. The barista was nice and had our order correct. There are several holiday drinks they offer and would come back to try them The place was almost full with almost all tables occupied. It seems that there are a lot of people working around the area who patronize this establishment. Update After the Remodel: The remodel resulted in the Fremont location being LESS ADA compliant. The aisles are too narrow for wheelchair users. Aisles must be 3 ft wide for wheelchair access. The aisles around the merchchdise display are maybe 1.5 ft if customers are seated next to the display. I have been a regular Peet's customer for 25 yrs. C'mon Peet's, you can do better than this. Coffee is pretty good, it gets busy, and feels a bit commercial. Their menu is quite extensive but they have your traditional coffee/espresso drinks and teas and many variations depending on the choice of milk and sugar level. The chocolate in the mocha is not syrup; it's powdered and does leave the traditional grain towards the end of the drink. Tasty dark chocolate bits! Their coffee seems to come out consistent and as it should, since most of the coffee drinks are programmed into their proprietary machines/software. There's really not much of a barista feel, although they do seem to be the ones adding the milk to the drinks. However, I did witness some cross contamination with the spoon used to mix drinks and scoop froth/foam (it fell into what seemed like a temporary bin for things not meant to be in the drink). Probably not the worst case but I feel the attention to the drinks were subpar for the price you pay. The finished result was still probably good. They do have a reward program through their app and give out a free drink on your birthday. I would highly recommend to join and scan when you order. This location gets busy and crowded but if you happen to come in early, you may get a nice spot with some privacy. They have free wifi and access to a clean bathroom (however is only accessible with a code). Due to the foot traffic, it gets loud in here but people are friendly so if you're looking to socializing or having an occasional chat with a local, you'll fit right in. Parking is relatively easy as the mall here is huge. Typically there are spots well within a few feet from the entrance. And given that this mall is pretty well diversified, you can go get a bite and come right back to Peet's to finish up your work before you head home. They do have some snacks and pastries here too, but nothing to rave about. Regardless, it's still and very nice, convenient location. Overall, I do feel like I'm ordering from a chain/franchise due to the mass production, but the price and quality of their pure brews does make you feel like you're getting a cup from a neighborhood boutique cafe. read more

It's the sheep in wolf's clothing that has quite an appeal with the local community, and it stands out. A local Bay Area brand with over 200 locations, the baristas provide that small coffee shop feel but with the more modern atmosphere and vibe. Visiting this location ona Sunday morning, which is in the same plaza as Phil's, you see all of the outside tables taken with locals from all walks of life chatting it up. Then you walk in and notice patrons greeting the baristas by name and vice versa--love it. That's the small town coffee shop atmosphere you get and it's exciting to see this place doing so well and really taking the opportunity to be a part of the community. It's simple coffee here, no frills, no mad concoctions, just simple good coffee. Now to the orders! My wife ordered the iced mocha latte and I ordered an americano. Pretty good and no complaints.
