I stopped by this Peet's Coffee in Lafayette today after work around 5:30 pm. The store was closing at 6:00 pm. I greeted the cashier politely, but unfortunately did not receive any response. I ordered a caramel macchiato, and it was honestly one of the worst coffees I've had -- poorly made and served with a very negative attitude. I had a long and busy day and was simply looking forward to a coffee to regain some energy before heading home. Instead, I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. Basic courtesy and consistency in quality should be part of the experience, regardless of the time of day. I hope this feedback helps improve customer service. read more

Haven't had a negative experience at this Peet's other than waiting way too long for a mobile order because of some printing order sticker paper issue they've had, but that was an unusual event. Most of my orders here have been on their mobile app. Pretty simple and straight forward. I tend to go for their cappuccinos, mocha, and vanilla lattes when I'm in the mood for a hot drink, and my usuals for cold drinks are their frappes (mocha, coffee, and espresso are my go-to) and their various iced matcha drinks. Their frappes/blended drinks are so good, and have been pretty consistent over the years. Love their whipped cream as well! Depending on the drink, they may charge for whipped cream which kind of sucks. A bit pricey for a regular habit, but I do like Peet's flavors. Pretty good beans as well! If you buy beans, you can get a free cup of coffee lol. Store has looked clean each time I've been, and can see myself studying here if needed. read more

The two women working the closing shift today were friendly, pleasant, courteous, and helpful when I asked the origin of the Cafe Domingo coffee and getting a few shakes of the Baking Spice to top off my order. Best made drinks in the East Bay and I have hit them all. Their expresso is SO fresh, or just the expertise of the baristas here, not sure. But the expresso drinks are excellent as well as the customer service. Inside & outside seating, free parking. read more

Waited in line for a long time because a blond pony tail woman o have never seen with hair messy up in aobey taill ringing up was slow and very unprofessional . I go there all the time and have never seem Such chaos. I moced up my hand bag and she rudely said to me I'm still waiting on this gentleman so I was embarrassed. She was completely rude and unprofessional . She spoke back to me disrespectfully. I mentioned to her I have never been spoken to so disrespectful. She gave me flack back. I won't be going back. Well, after months of being a (mobile) regular, I'm happy to report that Lafayette has gone from worst to first. (Not that anyone cared; it's always busy.) Review #013 - 2023 I try not to write reviews for franchises since there are so many different locations that I visit on a regular basis that it's hard to remember which location is which. I placed an order on their app on Wednesday, Dec. 13th at around 4:15 PM, without double checking my previous order, before realizing that there was actually a mistake on the "reorder" option. I normally just hit the "reorder" button assuming it would be my unsweetened hot matcha latte, but today it wasn't unsweetened on my "reorder" option. After placing my order from my car, I quickly ran inside hoping that it wasn't made yet so I could let the barista know to leave out the sweetener, but I was too late. I told the young man it was my mistake and he was super sweet to remake it without sugar at no charge. He even gave me the first one on the house, even though it was my fault. I really appreciate the kind gesture and I am ashamed to admit that I didn't even ask for his name, but I hope he knows how much I appreciate him after seeing my review. June 2025 is very different from 2024. The so-called baristas are too busy chatting with each other to actually prepare the orders efficiently. Today I waited at least 15 minutes for a simple order and received the wrong beverage. And that has happened now 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I guess I have to try and park at Orinda Peet's. Maybe hit it at a bad time but staff was very unprofessional, made fun of customers in front of other customers... one was so incensed with having to work they had to go into the back room to scream... also ordered 3 drinks and then served two ... the blended drink was basically whipped cream only. I've had the same order for years now, I never get the same drink, occasionally I get a well made drink but otherwise it tastes horrible and is always made differently, usually by the same person lol. I don't know what's going on at this Peet's. I've been getting my coffee here for 10+ years and the last 2-3 times I've been in, I have had to wait 5+ minutes to even place my order while people are cleaning, refilling bins, mopping, in the back, etc. There is no one at the register taking orders for long stretches. What's worse is they walk back and forth in front of you doing these things and see you waiting, but don't stop and take your order. Seems like there needs to be some additional training. When there are 3-4 people working but order taking is not happening, something is wrong. read more

Peet's Coffee here is an oldie but goodie. small space but still dispensing good brew in a timely manner. since i'm not an early bird. afternoons aren't a problem getting coffee nor dark roast. brew: big bang, medium roast (s. 2.40) -pretty strong brew for a medium bean. as "strong" as dark roast but without the heavy bold taste. read more

Baristas a really good at this location. However, I usually get a small latte which is $4.70 and I am not sure why most other times, at the counter they charge me $4.95. One of the young staff told me it is because now you have to bring your own cup and if you do they'll charge you $4.70 (the listed price) It is the first time I hear this. Is this possible? For the first time ever I wish there was a feature where I could give negative stars. I went in this morning to purchase a pound of coffee. I had asked for a pound of Ethiopian and the girl behind the counter had a sad look and explain that she believe they were out of it and sure enough they were so I ordered a pound of Sumatra and again she said that they were out of that coffee too. I'd be grudgingly ordered a pound of Italian and wasn't offered any kind of discount or future discount because of the inconvenience. How does a large corporation coffee distributor run out of coffee when that's all they do? Poor management. Oh my goodness, do I regret this terrible matcha frap. Which despite it being in the high 90s outside right now, I'm tempted to discard and dump. This tastes like slightly mushy water with two tablespoons of milk, no matcha flavor, it's actively unpleasant to drink. The whip cream, which I'd double confirmed at the register, was forgotten. I let the barista know. When she squirted it on, the canister had not been properly shaken so it just drooled out of the tip into a limp foam puddle. It looked sad and now I feel sad. This is all very harsh and I don't want to seem like an absolute dick. I worked at a peets years ago and possess no hater-energies for the employees, promise. This drink though... is still sitting beside me and will probably be poured into that bush I'm eyeing outside. read more

Major kudos & props to Hannah, Kelly, Kylie & Vivian at this Lafayette, Calif., store!!! (3518 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, CA, 94549). I arrived this morning to buy a pound of Sulawesi and found Vivian in front of the dark store offering free coffee. The power had gone out at 5:30 a.m. due to PG&E clipping a line and the crew here drove to the Orinda store to fetch large insulated containers of hot coffee. Vivian greeted each customer with a friendly and genuine "Good Morning," explaining the situation and asking if approaching folks would like a free cup of coffee. The cheerful, take-it-easy, professional and top-notch attitude of Hannah, Kelly, Kylie and Vivian was amazing. What lovely people and a credit to Peet's!
