This place is great the staff is very friendly and its very clean . When you walk in they greet you and take a little time with you to make you feel comfortable.The staff is very nice and they know how to treat people , unlike the big competitor Starbucks. At Starbucks when they only hand you a coffee and take you money . The staff at this location is friendly and down to earth . I much rather be comfortable that getting the coffee and feel like i have to leave right away,that is the vibe i get at Starbucks . if you are in the area and want a nice cup off coffee, do not hesitate to stop buy and you will be very happy. Horribly horribly horribly run location! The management needs to be terminated immediately re-training and rehiring needs to happen at this location. You would think in a beautiful new multi million dollar community the standards would be higher but no. They constantly mess up the drink orders they don't follow corporate Protocol there have been now four different instances where I have ordered a six dollar for a shot drink and they only put two in and then lie to my face about how much they put in even though I watched them make it. I went here with sister and mom because we were in the neighborhood, we wanted coffee. It took a while for them to make our drinks. They also got confused my simple order of a cheese sandwich. What I don't understand is why do we have to pay $.36 to heat our food. Starbucks warms up food with no additional cost. I got a large cup of coffee, my sister got a large iced green tea soy latte, and my mom had a small coffee, however when I asked for room for milk, i did not expect them to give my mom half a cup of coffee. I also ordered some food my sister had the egg and cheese sandwich, my mom had a blueberry scone, and I had a maple scone. At first, when I ordered the maple scone the Barista asked me if i wanted it warmed it but then she was told that they don't warm the maple scones to which I just find it weird. My first time at this location and I will never come back. Both the drink and the staff were horrible. I did the mobile order, had to wait almost half an hour because they forgot my drink. Ordered with whip cream, but when they handed the drink, it didn't have it. So I asked for whip cream, the person showed an attitude because he had to walk the drink back to add it. Not only that, he tossed out some of my drink to add a bit of whip cream on top and put the flat lid back. We all know you're supposed to put the dome shape lid on for whip cream. Ahhhhh Peet's. I consider myself somewhat of a Peet's maestro because I lived down the street from the first Peet's in Berkeley for a couple of years. Let's start with the good. Peet's is a very nice vibe - generally. I think everything can be summed up with a comparison to Starbucks, namely, the Starbucks in Porter Ranch, which is a shining model of efficiency. At Peet's, the coffee is somewhat more human than Starbucks, in that it doesn't feel as though it has been pumped full of capitalism. Yes, it'll be missing that topping you asked for, or it'll taste very different from day-to-day, but you get that human element that Starbucks doesn't have. On the other hand, if you like consistency, fast, reliable service without having to stand around waiting while a barista shakes their head at you...this may not be the spot for you. I cannot tell you how many times my mom has gotten a simple coffee with milk and it has been incorrect, in one way or another. Personally, my favorite items are the vegan bran blueberry muffin - and I'm not even vegan, I just like the muffin - and the cold brew. But I have LITERALLY waited 20 minutes before for those two items, even with not that many people in the store. That is simply absurd. And I know my friends and family have had the same experience. No matter if there are 5 baristas working, it always feels understaffed and frantic. If you're feeling brave, try going there on a Sunday at 10:00 am - you may be able to drive to Starbucks and back before your coffee is even done at Peet's. Also I have some critiques about the layout of the Peet's - doesn't feel like an efficient use of space - but I don't think this review is going to do anything about that. I'm here on a Saturday afternoon in the summer (not prime finals/midterms time) and it's pretty busy and the WiFi is so slow it's basically unusable. So I love Peet's, always have, and the coffee is real quality of course. I live up the street and this location is ideal and always feels peaceful. It's just that, lately, my drinks have been tasting like trash. And I'm not saying that with anger. It's just sad. I got a pumpkin spiced latte 3 times to make sure they didn't make it wrong the first time. But each time it tasted like something in it had gone bad, like chemicals...? Nothing like pumpkin. I usually get my drinks with oat milk and they've been getting the ratios wrong. I don't mean to trash this place at all - I just think Covid sadly did a number on the quality here. I've actually talked to them twice because I want to protect their reputation, but there's a guy there with big green eyes who just shouldn't work with customers at all. And otherwise I'm not sure management can control much when they're busy fighting with each other. Maybe it'll just ride out hopefully, who knows. I've switched back to starbs and coffee bean. It's not obvious where you're supposed to line up, and staff were constantly directing folks to the line. In our case, the guy behind us jumped ahead (because he was closer to where the line was supposed to be), and the staff person should have acknowledged that we were actually next in line instead of simply helping that person who jumped ahead of us. The time they take is incredibly long however, I ordered three drinks and waited well over 20 minutes with a well-numbered staff. The coffee is also light, we've ordered mocha lattes and it was very light on coffee it really just tasted like chocolate milk. The coffee and other drinks are good when they are made right... I've been here at least 10 times and every time i wait over 10 mins for a drink. Half the time they make it wrong (after taking their sweet time) and never apologized for the wait. I worked at a coffee shop before and it has always been a super fast pace environment. It's not a restaurant where you sit and wait for time to pass. A simple drink shouldn't take longer than 3-5 mins. If you have the time to wait I'd say come here but if not go the extra block and get Starbucks. read more

I have visited twice, the first time was a bit unorganized. The second time was better and it was very busy. Again, it is worth dealing with the adjustments as the coffee is superior and the taste is above other competitors. I got a regular coffee the first time and it was so good, no need for cream or sugar. The second time I got a Cold Mocha and it was perfect. If there is one thing I criticize, it's not the coffee or service, but the parking because you have to park further away and deal with the construction around there, but this will soon be over.
