Just in love with this location of Peet's Coffee. It's one of my favorite places to hit on a weekend for a leisurely caffeine fix because of the mellow vibe, the choice of both indoor or outdoor seating and the helpful, polite baristas who always greet you in a friendly way. This store sits directly on PCH and has parking in the back so even if street parking is crowded chances are that you will find something. They're also very efficient with their mobile orders and in-store orders. I love the selection of coffees and lattes, which all have a much smoother taste than other large chain coffee sellers. I have to compliment the in-house playlist which is low key fabulous and sits at a volume that's comfortable but never obnoxious. Another plus is that since they sit on PCH, it's very easy to take a nice walk in the beautiful South Bay weather after you pick up your coffee. There several other restaurants nearby if you decide you want a meal with your coffee. read more

Such a peaceful place in a great location on PCH just blocks from the beach to relax and drink some great coffee. Nice helpful people work here--and unlike Starcrooks who recently installed vending machines in their stores to brew coffee fast that tastes like S now--Peets still brews it the old fashioned way. And it's great coffee. If you have not read my other reviews--after many years I have abandoned Starcrooks over their new automated bad coffee and have discovered Peets. Best to park on the street--2 hours free. If you crawl into Peet's shared parking lot--you may never get out--or get out with a bad dent. Just park on the street--it's easy--no hassle. Pro-tip: Start your beach day here or if no beach--just stay parked and walk it to downtown Redondo a few blocks away. read more

This Peet's has recently become my routine after trying the Havana cappuccino. Believe it or not I was a sweet latte drinker before. I love this drink, granted each person makes it a little different. Most of the time the subtle sweetness of the condensed milk is tasted throughout and the foam is rich and decadent. Prices I think are equal or less than a typical Starbucks. They have more sophisticate specialties than the bucks. I'm not a fan of their filtered water though. The bucks definitely hands down best water filter system. Second reason I like this place...The staff has ALWAYS been professional and friendly with me and others I have witnessed coming in. Even the homeless that occasionally try to get a free pastry. They are all young, full of energy and seem to get along with each other which is also nice to see. Music is a little louder than I like and they play a HUGE variety. Some of it I love and some makes me cringe. This only really matters because I study there. Otherwise I wouldn't note this. I LOVE that there is west facing outdoor seating. Both with and without shade. The traffic is heavy but not Peet's fault! I see them sweep and change the trash often. Yet, on occasion I have noted they aren't able to keep up with the trash over flowing. Maybe less staff and just more trash. It happens. But for the most part it's clean. I do wish the window ledges were cleaned; those are generally filthy with mass amounts of crumbs. Also, the bathroom... I give 2 stars for 99% of the time having seat covers, TP, soap, & paper towels; plus working toilet and sink. But it's generally rather dirty and dingy. I don't know why anyone would dribble urine on the floor... what is wrong with males?! Also why do people drop TP etc on the ground and not pick it up. Anyway, the restroom needs more frequent TLC to keep it nicer. Also, the owner needs to buy a new sink handle- it's literally deteriorating. Parking can be a little challenging at times and has been the cause of me going elsewhere but that's only been because I'm in a mood or being lazy. read more

This is now my go to coffee spot in the morning. Even though it's on one of the busiest street, parking is easy once you find out that they have their own lot behind the store. The store is always very clean and decorated so nicely! Especially around holidays. They always have a beautiful flower bouquet on the counter as well. Alex is the best, she's always so sweet, helpful, and always says hi and asks how I'm doing. The rest of the staff is amazing as well. They're always very quick with getting your order out, even when they're busy. The coffee and food items are always high quality. Love the Vanilla oat milk latte and the bacon frittata. Peet's Coffee is a coffee chain along with the likes of Starbucks and Coffee Bean, although I've found it's not as ubiquitous. I decided to try it out all the same, and I opted for a Peppermint Mocha as their holiday special. Besides Peppermint Mocha being my favorite, I also wanted to establish a baseline drink to compare with other big-chain cafes. I ordered online for pickup and headed over to grab my drink. Prices are on-par with SB and CB, so it's a pricey $5-6 for a standard cup. It wasn't crazy busy went I arrived before 9am on Saturday, which was a relief as I usually see a line outside of the store. The verdict? I was sorely disappointed in my Peppermint Mocha: I tasted absolutely NO peppermint in the drink. The coffee itself is quite good, deep and earthy, but I was especially going for the mint taste. It was basically regular coffee, at the Peppermint Mocha price. Perhaps the barista made a mistake, but in any case, it was a let-down. I wouldn't opt to return to Peet's, just because I could get better Peppermint Mochas elsewhere. Only chance I'd come back is for their actual coffee. But not today, folks. read more

I became a Peet's coffee regular since Covid-19 lockdown. This is the only coffee place in the neighborhood where you can pick up your coffee by the door. We normally just order the drinks on the mobile app and then walk over to the coffee shop to pick up our drinks. The location opens until 4pm everyday for pick up, sometimes there are people chilling outside waiting for their coffee, but it's never crowded. I think for all the coffee shops should do pick up by the entrance instead of asking patrons to pick up at the counter inside. Given the heighten sensitivity of how far and how long corona virus could last in the air, it's extra safe for both baristas and patrons to keep our distance and share the filtered indoor air to minimal. Maybe when things go back to normal, we can be a big happy family again! Anyhow, if anyone in the South Bay share my level of caution, Peet's at this location will provide a peace of mind and put a stop to that caffeine thirst. read more

As I've mentioned before, I don't give a bad review the first time I have a less than satisfactory experience. Today I stopped in to get my usual iced vanilla Latte. It was ready in about 1 minute to my surprise. So fast. Thank I found out why. The milk was dumped on the vanilla and espresso. Completely white on top. The photo attached is after I stirred and mixed it. I asked the person making, " how many shots?" 2 she said. While visiting my hometown, my friend and I stopped here for some coffee. This Peet's location has a small parking lot at the rear of the building, and a narrow driveway that serves both as an entrance and exit from the lot. We were able to find parking right by the rear door, and made our way inside. When we walked in, we noticed a bad burnt smell. We guessed that the baristas accidentally burned some coffee beans, which did not smell pleasant at all. Luckily, there was no line to order. We placed our orders, and had our Havana cappuccinos in no time. The drinks came out delicious! Which made up for the burnt smell in the store. Would I stop by here in the future? Possibly, as I visit family in the area. Peet's is legit coffee shop, and one small mess up won't stain this place's image. read more

LORD I am just DONE with this store!!! I came back 8/29/13 around 4PM and the guy wanted to charge me again for my free coffee! Purchased a pound $15.95 ya.. for a lb. of coffee! I asked to have my free coffee on ice rather than hot and the young man at the cash register wanted to charge me .15 for an upgrade? Upgrade to what? ICE ? You've got to be kidding... I looked at him and just said "not again"! OMG when will this store get a clue? Its not free if you charge me for the supposedly free coffee. This was my favorite coffee place. Starbucks and Coffee Bean is walking distance from where I live, but I drive 10 minutes because they simply brew the best coffee around here, and the guys are working so fast and very congenial all the time. That is why I give 2 stars instead of 1. I ordered from my mobile app at 3:15pm on 2/20/2021. 1 order of mint ice mocha, with no whip cream. Arrived at 3:29pm. There was whip cream on my coffee. So I asked help to take it off. When I said can you "please" help, a woman I never saw working here (because I usually come in the morning) yelled back "we are only two here, we are busy." So I reached over the counter myself, picked up a straw and started removing the whip cream myself to a trash can, no big deal. Then she saw me doing it from the other side where the cashier is located, came over and asked how she could help. I said I specifically ordered mine without whip cream. She responded "I made it per the note," and before I speak anything to her, already turned around and left. There was NO ONE at the store except the two and myself. I don't want to go to this Peet's anymore. It has been my favorite, but if you cannot train your staff properly, there are many alternatives in town. I would rather spend my money and time with better people to treat the customers properly. read more

Been surviving on Amy's frozen vegetarian meals for weeks & if I ever see another one it'll be too soon. Today I badly needed real, fresh food so I got a take-out from W's. Peet's is right next door. I ordered a something something dark roast coffee that looked like mud & was strong enough to put hair on a cue ball. The friendly barista warned me, suggested I try a sip first before leaving with an entire cup of the powerful brew. Nah, I said. I'm hard core. I think this stuff kills viruses cuz I haven't felt this good in a month. No prescription needed. All you have to do is brave the traffic on PCH. He remembers the name of customers and gives a friendly warm "hello, following with a how's your day?" Great customer service! Also most importantly the coffee is consistently amazing! Here I am at Pete's Coffee at 1418 S. Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach. After years of going to Pete's shops all over both Northern and Southern California, this was a first today. You see, I prefer a strong latte with less milk so I can taste the espresso. As I had routinely done tens, if not over a hundred times before, I asked for my regular large latte in a medium size cup. A large latte contains three shots, a medium two, but adding an extra shot to a medium is another $0.90 making it around $0.50 more expensive than a large. When the manager heard the request this Saturday afternoon (4/13/19), he marched right over and pounced, putting his foot down. "We're not authorized to do that!", he barked like a decommissioned Drill Sargeant at Cub Scout camp. Having never been met with anything but smiles and a large latte in a medium size cup before, I looked at him quizzically (while the barrista looked down uncomfortably). "We can't do that," he repeating, doubling down, then raising his voice to pronounce to the whole store, "I'll do it just this one time, but not again!". Now, mind you, I'd never met this millennial in Patton cosplay (requisite beard notwithstanding), nor had I ever been in this particular Pete's. For future reference, here's four things our mogul-in-training might want to consider next time a customer simply asks for a smaller cup: 1} By putting a large latte in a medium cup, Pete's saves on paper cup costs. 2) By using less milk, they save on milk. 3) By charging a customer a fair price (ie, the listed price of a large latte), the difference saved from the inflated cost of an extra shot will go in his tip jar rather than into the company's coffer. 4) By insulting a new customer and embarrassing the server, this manager has no need to warn that his gracious gift of a one time exception to the rule will ever happen again because in his infinite wisdom, he's guaranteed that this customer will never go back to his location, nor to any Pete's franchise stores again if, indeed, there's been a policy change since the days when Pete's Coffee was the most user friendly boutique coffee chain among the many to choose from. It gives new meaning to the expression "Penny wise, pound foolish". read more

I just started visiting this particular spot. I hadn't been to a single Peet's despite the fact of living here in South Bay for 20 plus years. Anyhooo, this place is great. Why? I will just give you 3 reasons why it's become a favorite hangout in such a short time. 1) Free FAST wireless. Lots of places promise that, but how many times does that "free" connection drop, pick up, drop, go crappy, disappear,etc. So far so good here (actually doing this review from the Peet's AND listening to Pandora). 2) Very friendly service. Something I readily admit to being over-sensitive to anywhere we go. The counter people are cheerful, helpful, and willing. That goes SOOOO far in my book. When you can smile in spite of earning minimum wages, I'll give you my business any day. 3) Scenery. It's clean. It smells hevenly in here. PCH is outside, and every so often, bikini clad women walk by--hey, I'm married, not blind, right? It's designed with simplicity. I could sit outside, but I don't like being in the spotlight, LOL. read more
