I usually do not write reviews for Starbucks since there are so many already, but this location is brand new and very clean, so I decided to share. I noticed that the cup was different from what I usually see at other locations, which I thought was interesting. Maybe this is the new version, but I really liked the design. It felt fresh and cute. I do wish this location were a Starbucks Reserve. It would be amazing to have a Reserve store even here in Torrance. Maybe someday we will get one!

Hey, Starbucks groupie here. I've had my shared of drive-thru and mobile pickup orders on a weekly basis with many of the Starbucks in Los Angeles County. This is my two-cents and a nickel on this location. Let's jump right into this review. This location is at the intersection of Hawthorne Blvd. & Pacific Coast Highway. Stand alone location in a shopping center. I have been here twice now. Drinks (seasonal) Fall is here and all things PUMPKIN are back at Starbucks! Drinks (my usuals) Venti Strawberry Acaí with lemonade, no strawberries, add peach juice Venti Green Tea with water, add 2 splendas, sometimes I substitute water for lemonade Grande Hot Chocolate w/ extra whipped cream, with a splash of vanilla syrup - kids temp :) Things to know: - No drive-thru. Inside has tables and chairs - few. Outside has tables and chairs as well. - Plenty of parking. - I have ordered through the mobile app only. They are spot-on for ETA here with mobile app orders. - I have learned that the refreshers/teas taste varies by location. This location, my Refresher was a hit both times I ordered. - The staff is friendly and personable at this location. No complaints. - The inside was in "good shape", lol. - Location doesn't seem to be very busy but steady. I went on a Friday at 4pm and a Saturday at 1pm. Overall, it appears this is a neighborhood Starbucks serving the community.

Just a little extra kindness. Thank you
    Tiffany M.

The extra effort that went into my medicine ball tea, brought a smile to my face with a sweet "feel better" note on my cup. Thank you whoever you were who did that. Al's the tea was delicious.

Everything felt super clean and state of the art machines to making the drinks. We ordered the chamomile tea, coconut matcha cloud, Amai special coffee, and Vietnamese coffee. Chamomile Tea - 3.5/5 it's not bad but it did come from a tea bag so nothing special and was not made in house. Coconut Matcha Cloud - 5/5 was extremely refreshing and balanced so well with the matcha. It definitely was a waker upper. You definitely taste the coconut and a hint of matcha Amai special coffee - 4.5/5 was definitely a huge kicker but also extremely strong and bold. It does come with 2 espresso shots as is Vietnamese coffee - 5/5 definitely hit the right spot for me. One thing I found interesting and unique is that the do top of with their version of sea salt cream which balanced the drink from its boldness and sweetness

This review is regarding a visit on June 1 between approximately 12:10 PM and 12:30 PM…read more I am leaving this feedback as a regular customer who has purchased different matcha drinks from this business on multiple occasions. I have consistently enjoyed visiting this location, which is why I am sharing this experience in detail rather than simply not returning. On this visit, I ordered the House Matcha with almond milk and paid $7.75. The drink was significantly underfilled, which resulted from my request for no ice. While I understand that removing ice can affect volume, the amount of empty space at the top of the cup made it feel like I received less than a full drink despite paying the full price. In addition, I was charged for an almond milk substitution, which further contributed to the expectation of a properly filled drink. The cup size also raised concerns. I recently ordered a Banana Cream Matcha at the same price point and received a noticeably larger cup. On this visit, the House Matcha was served in a smaller cup, and even the sleeve did not fit correctly. The combination of a smaller cup and reduced fill level created an inconsistency in value that was immediately noticeable. The most significant issue was that the drink contained no sweetness at all. The House Matcha is described as "perfectly sweet matcha" and includes agave syrup, so it is reasonable to expect sweetness as part of the standard preparation. Instead, the drink was completely unsweetened. There was no communication during ordering that sweetness needed to be selected separately, and in prior visits I have never been asked about sweetness level. This is also not the first time I have received a matcha drink without sweetness despite it being described otherwise. By the time I realized, I had already left the store and was unable to return due to time commitments, and it does not feel reasonable that multiple preparation issues should require a return visit. It is also concerning that there is no clear pricing listed next to the different matcha options in the matcha section of the menu. The lack of visible prices makes it difficult to understand the cost of each drink at the point of ordering and reduces transparency for customers. From a broader perspective, consistency issues across cup size, fill level, and recipe execution affect the overall experience. I regularly purchase specialty drinks and would be comfortable paying $7.75 if the product consistently matched the menu description, portioning was accurate, and expectations were clearly communicated at the point of sale. As someone who visits this plaza several times per month, I would genuinely like to continue supporting this business and have consistently positive experiences. That depends on clearer communication, more consistent preparation standards, and attention to detail during both ordering and fulfillment. At home, I am able to prepare matcha easily using a variety of milks, including almond, oat, coconut, cashew, pistachio, banana, and pea protein, along with simple sweeteners such as agave, maple syrup, honey, and organic brown sugar. I also keep ingredients such as whipped cream, sea salt, strawberries on hand, blueberries, and mango, allowing me to make specialty drinks like strawberry matcha, blended matcha with frozen strawberries, or other customized variations. Because of that, the value of a café drink comes down to consistency, accuracy, and convenience rather than ingredients alone. If issues such as inconsistent cup sizes, underfilling, missing ingredients, or unclear customization options are occurring across orders, it may point to a need for improved staff training and clearer standardization. Addressing these areas would likely improve the experience for both regular and first-time customers. I hope this feedback is received as constructive input from a returning customer meant to improve overall customer satisfaction and repeat business.

I'm so glad we came here! We were not sure what drink/item we wanted so we got to sample both flavors of soft serve: Matcha & Hojicha The cashier was very nice and professional as she allowed us to taste test and I made up my mind pretty quickly afterwards. I ordered the Hojicha Soft Serve Float and it was absolutely amazing. The strong smoky flavor of the Hojicha was very pronounced from the soft serve as well as the drink at the bottom. I would definitely be back next time I'm in the South Bay Area. It was THAT good!

The matcha flavor was bitter, but in a good way. It was earthy and not too weak which I liked. It was also super aesthetic with the chocolate square which provided a nice and sweet contrast to the bitter matcha. Definitely a high quality dessert. This spot is located inside the Mitsuwa marketplace food court area with parking outside shared with the Del Amo mall. It can get pretty packed in the area. I would get the soft serve here again, but I am a bit skeptical about getting the drinks here. That's because the matcha drinks look super diluted based on the color.
