    Hot Cafe Latte
    Connie L.

It is a bit further out than my local Starbucks. But I think they are destined by Corporate to be the delivery hot spot. Hot lattes always taste good with half & half and extra whips. Any hot food such as sandwiches and egg bites are toasted and they did it all on their own. They are quick and efficient. I always ordered when I have a tension headache and relief from Starbucks coffee is almost always instantaneously.

Even in the most busiest of days, Dave was able to help me and my friends get our orders quickly and efficiently! Even gave great suggestions ! I also appreciated how they put me on ice tea sizes and what's the best of deals for my buc

    Triple Espresso ($3.45)

Date: Friday, March 29th, 2024 Time: around 6:15pm Party of: 4 adults, 1 baby We were waiting for a table at a restaurant nearby and decided to have some pre-dinner coffee. My friends arrived first so had a table near the front door. We grabbed chairs from other tables so the four of us to could sit together. It wasn't very busy as it was a chill and rainy evening. I got a Triple Espresso ($3.45). Used the Starbucks App to pay since I add my gift cards there. It was a quick and easy transaction. Plus, I link my Delta account to my Starbucks app, so I can accrue Delta miles when making purchases. The location is convenient if in the area. Tho the restrooms don't have a changing table, so that was a bummer since we had a baby with us. Ended up changing her at the resto instead. For a caffeine kick in West Portal, this location is nicely located. And near the West Portal station.

I went again for an hazelnut oat-milk shaken espresso and the barista was RUDE. The drink was half assed made. My drink was bland and tasted awfully watered down. I asked the barista if there was anything she could add to make it better and she offered to remake it. I asked if that's okay and she shrugged her shoulder and said "well what can I do about it". The drinks aren't good and the customer service is terrible. I asked for the barista's name and she hesitated. I'm sure she gave me a fake name, "Bryce". She's maybe 5'7, has curly brown hair and wears circle tortoise shell glasses. Let me know if anybody has the manager's information.

This drink is amazing, I came in only wanting to use the bathroom but the atmosphere and the vibe spoke out to me to just stay. The wonderful baristas even imagined a brand new drink unique to my style. Thank you so much, Fatima!

I love this location so much! There are many changes with covid but this store has done a nice job making sure you feel safe, comfortable but still have genuine interactions. They are efficient here. Matt, is an above and beyond employee here and makes the experience wonderful with his energy.

Quick service. Seating could be better. But whiny, la la la music in the morning? Who chooses the music here? Try some quite Jazz standards.

Like everywhere else in SF, you have to pay for street parking but it's free after 6pm! The vibes inside are of a typical coffee shop and there is a good amount of tables and seats! The barista makes each drink one at a time, so it could take a while to order and get your drinks, but it just shows that they are very intentional with their drinks! I was super excited to find out that Ballast Coffee is actually a Filipino coffee shop that serves Barako Coffee, which I believe they source from the Philippines. They also sell barako bean roast blends for $20 in case you wanted to make it at home! Since they use Filipino barako beans, I had to order their Ube iced latte and Ube hot chocolate! The coffee had a slightly fruity yet chocolatey undertone that made it really delicious with the Ube! I do think that the coffee had a lighter taste to it, so it let the ube taste stand out more. My favorite was the Ube hot chocolate because it was super decadent and warming! I'll definitely be back at Ballast Coffee to study more and to also try their Ube Mocha as well as other drinks!

I've introduced so many friends to the hojicha einspanner and everyone loves it too! Even though Diamond has multiple locations, this is the only one that serves hojicha. I hope the other locations will add hojicha to their menus too. But what stands out the most to me is the einspanner. It's unbelievably yummy; it's thick, fluffy, and tastes like marshmallows! I could honestly eat a whole bucket of it! The hojicha itself is a little on the lighter side, but it still has a delicious nutty flavor that pairs perfectly with the einspanner. Once it's all mixed together, the balance of nuttiness and sweetness is perfect. The space is super cute and has a cozy camping theme. Most of the seating consists of camping chairs and tables that really tie into the aesthetic, so there are only a few tables that are ideal for studying or getting work done. It's definitely a fun spot to hang out and catch up with friends. I also love all the little tributes to the owners' dog, Diamond. You'll find little touches of Diamond everywhere--from the napkins and cup holders to the free stickers. I highly recommend stopping by and trying the hojicha eispanner. It's the reason I keep coming back! (My brother got the matcha einspanner but idk what he thought of it)

Today I dropped our recently senior rescued dog for his first grooming for us. I came upon an "Old Friend" Java on Ocean Coffee. Java On Ocean Coffee is a classic San Francisco coffee place which has much more than coffee to order. There is a selection of savory breakfast items, sandwiches and smoothie! Given it was after 3 pm I ordered a Mexican Mocha and an oatmeal cookie. The café was fairly packed with nearby Riodan High School students studying about American history "New Deal" with great enthusiasm and laughter! There are 15 tables and plenty of seating including several outside but given the May gray day I cozyed under a poster of famous Mexican artist Frieda to drink my Mexican Mocha today.
