It is a bit further out than my local Starbucks. But I think they are destined by Corporate to be the delivery hot spot. Hot lattes always taste good with half & half and extra whips. Any hot food such as sandwiches and egg bites are toasted and they did it all on their own. They are quick and efficient. This is a great location and it reminds me of the old Starbucks location in my neighborhood in Sunnyvale; people knew each other, the same regulars sitting down, baristas knew everyone and their drinks, etc. This Starbucks gave me the feels and has that true neighborhood gem feel. I love the wallpaper that's dedicated to the area with rolling hills and typical SF housing structure. The furniture still has that old rustic feel which it looks amazing. I like how they didn't modernize the entire store; they kept that traditional look to that neighborhood Starbucks coffee shop. I went again for an hazelnut oat-milk shaken espresso and the barista was RUDE. The drink was half assed made. My drink was bland and tasted awfully watered down. I asked the barista if there was anything she could add to make it better and she offered to remake it. I asked if that's okay and she shrugged her shoulder and said "well what can I do about it". The drinks aren't good and the customer service is terrible. I asked for the barista's name and she hesitated. I'm sure she gave me a fake name, "Bryce". My fav SB store. I miss Matt who moved to Florida but the majority of the newer staff are really nice. Especially Tim. I look forward to seeing him because he greets everyone and has good work ethics. The Oleato latte he made for me the first time I tried it was the best. I've had it at other places since but his was the best tasting. They were swamped today but I was there before 0900 and usually I show up much later than that. Tim. I ordered ahead and there is no option to ask for a pup cup in the app. So I asked for one in store. TIM says I have to go to the register and wait in line to add an item. We cruised over to West Portal so I would be near the Muni station and hopped into a packed Starbucks for the morning Joe. I ordered a hazelnut latte (free hazelnut!) and got to chill before the day really kicked off. I much prefer the flavored lattes to the plain and I'm glad the flavor is free as a Gold card member. It just makes you feel special! I'd definitely recommend grabbing a card and start earning those rewards. The benefits can't be beaten and it's free! This location is pretty good and there are a few seats near plugs if you want to get stuff done. I've never been here in the morning so I wouldn't know how the environment is for studying. I was in this location today and a fight broke out when a grown man proceeded to shove a woman waiting for her drink. I saw him push her with his shoulder on his way in to the Starbucks then I saw her go to the bar to "wait for her drink" and actually knock a small cup of milk the guy had on the counter. After that, the man shoved her with 2 hands and swung at her. Unbeknownst to everyone else in the vicinity this young woman started wailing on this older man and ended up giving him a bloody lip and nose! Anyhow I'm giving this place a one star because the workers behind the bar actually took out their phones to record what was happening, instead of calling 911. A group of us meets there every single day even throughout Covid and even wearing masks! Before I knew and/or tasted better java, I adored Starbies in a big way: bought mugs, gift cards, lounged around the store, made a pilgrimage to their first location in Seattle as well as ones in Vegas, New York, Tokyo and even drank their stuff once in awhile. What can I say? When I like something, I really go all out. But now that I experienced some truly outstanding coffee and know what it should taste like, I am even more mystified on why I still like their Pumpkin Spice Lattes. It has to be the syrup since it's sure not their espresso. How does it retain just enough of its flavor to give their lattes that pumpkin spice goodness I enjoy?
