Greek Dinner Chicken Souvlaki. The portion was huge.
    Anna W.

If you've ever tried an American-style Greek restaurant in Buffalo, you know what to expect. Pegasus is a low key, family friendly place that's been in operation more than four decades. What do I like about places like Pegasus? The best part is sliding into the soft, cozy seat of a classic booth. I'm hungry, and I'm hoping for a good, satisfying meal. That said, this could be tricky. An overly extensive menu, plus a snappy waitress, don't make a comforting combination. If you are not a regular customer or, like us, you are just passing through, you could get this impression. Let's talk about the food. My Chicken Souvlaki was served exactly as described on the menu. The marinated chicken was charbroiled to perfection. Someone in the kitchen did a really great job. There were six large, moist, and tender chicken breast pieces. The dipping sauce on the side was creamy, garlicky with a distinct dill flavor, very tasty. My partner's lamb chops were also prepared exactly the way he asked for, medium rare. I had a bite. The so-called Greek salad was satisfying, mainly because of the delicious house made dressing. The Greek potatoes were rather like German potato salad. I wouldn't order it again. Overall, our dinner would have been more enjoyable if we weren't asked "how is everything" so often. Oh well... It's the typical style of American service, simple and inconsiderate.

Ok, so this review went from a three star to a four based on the superior customer care. Anyone who knows me knows I'm BIG on service. Allison our waitress did not disappoint. She was thorough, attentive, apologetic when things were cooked differently than ordered, and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We thought overall that the food was ok. My Cajun fish was not as flavorful or spicy as I'd expect from Cajun or the sauce. Nothing spectacular, not bad and not added to the list of new go to's, but a decent contender for a fish fry. Great portions. Affordable pricing. The desserts we skipped because they are primarily store bought, but I do believe the baklava is homemade. The atmosphere was clean and decor kinda old school. Bathrooms clean. We enjoyed our meal here. My favorite was the spinach dip with garlic pita bread (ate before grabbing a photo)...now THAT was something I'd go back for.

    Nasty tasting wilted salad

I ordered through door dash to have my lunch delivered. I ordered the combo souvlaki and between tax and tip it was over 30 dollars. I even asked them to put my meat is a separate container so my sale wouldn't be wilted. I received my order and when I opened the salad it was wilted and inedible and tasted very off. I called as soon as I realized. I spoke to a very sweet women on the phone and she took my name and number and what I ordered and said they would replace the meal. I showed up tonight and spoke with who I can assume was the owner I explained my situation and was told they would not be replacing my food and gave me a 2 coupons for 5 dollars. So not only did I not get to enjoy lunch I basically threw 30 bucks in the garbage! This to me is terrible service as I was told one thing and then they did nothing. He told me to go through door dash but they didn't do anything wrong.

The service is always great, every time I've been here, very friendly servers. The food here is good, there's a variety of options, from breakfast to seafood to Greek specialties, and they have really great desserts. They do offer takeout and very convenient online ordering, door dash, etc. Something for everyone. Took away a star because of the fruit flies in the dining room. I know they're tough to get rid of, but it's time.

Pam is absolutely lovely! She greeted us warmly, helped me with details in ordering my entree which was delicious! Try the chicken souvlaki breakfast with English muffin and the open chicken souvlaki! Don't forget the rice pudding, chilled with whipped cream. Ample parking.

Our server was SO friendly and really made our visit much better than expected! The food was great and very flavorful. I got the el greco skillet and my husband got the corn beef hash omelette and a short stack of pancakes. The pancakes were a bit overcooked but otherwise everything was great!

    "Fluffy" western omelet

Service was good but that's about it. The food was sub par. My fluffy omelet was flat, overcooked and dry with undercooked hard veggies. The Belgian waffle was advertised that you could get fresh strawberries for $2 more and they are very clearly not fresh, pretty gross.

I stopped here today for breakfast with friends. Our original restaurant choice was closed. I hadn't been here in years and I'm glad we stopped by. The coffee was okay. I had the Ride & Shine omelette. It was great. It was three extra large eggs with ham, sausage, bacon, cheddar Jack cheese, and fried onions. It came with fried potatoes and toast. I had rye. My friend enjoyed his omelette two. Both were huge. I would definitely return.

The food arrived to the table quickly and hot. It was a nice quiet morning after the first snow event of the year so there weren't many customers at 730am but the place stays busy usually. They are decorated nicely for the next holiday and it was tastefully festive. The server was superbly attentive without being around too much. It was a pleasure dining here and will return many times I am certain.

So we got ourselves the spinach and artichoke dip as well as the crab Rangoon egg rolls - turns out the egg rolls were a special which did not count for the 1/2 off. The dip was fine and I liked the egg rolls a lot. We then had French onion soups which were also fine. We ended up both ordering the Gorgonzola streak Alfredo. This was a major disappointment. The sauce on this pasta was indeed a white sauce, but that was where its resemblance to Alfredo sauce ended. Alfredo should be buttery and thick, cream and cheesy. This was as thin as milk and flavorless. I ate my steak off the top and was done with it. I'm going this place 3 stars because the staff was all wonderful. The server I had was so nice and the host and bartender seemed really friendly with everyone who was in and out while we were there.

We went to the Mansard Inn for Easter Brunch. We had been there years ago for dinner and thought it…read morewas decent, and we had heard it had been refurbished since then. Unfortunately, that really wasn't our experience. The biggest issue was cleanliness. The entire place felt tired and dirty. The carpets looked heavily worn and stained, the booths had food stuck in the crevices, and overall it just didn't feel clean or well maintained. The dishes and drinkware didn't help. The coffee mugs, which were once white, were badly stained and dingy looking. My mother actually rubbed something off hers, and the waitress explained that it "wasn't dirty, just stained." Not exactly the best first impression, especially at $55 per person for brunch. We ordered mimosas after that, hoping things would improve, but even the champagne glasses looked questionable and were filled to noticeably different levels. Then the food arrived, and unfortunately it only got worse. Everything was served "family style," but there was no menu or explanation of what was coming. The meal felt random and poorly executed. Some highlights included: * A single store-bought pastry cut into pieces * Mac and cheese that tasted like boxed Velveeta * Deep-fried breakfast sausages * Ham that resembled warmed-up lunch meat * Three shrimp total for two people * A bowl of stew meat that felt completely out of place * An Eggs Benedict attempt that simply didn't work To make matters worse, some of the silverware and plates appeared dirty as well. By the end, we honestly couldn't wait to leave. The automatic $20 holiday service charge on top of the already expensive brunch really sealed the experience for us. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had in quite a while.

Overpriced, Unsanitary, and Unprofessional - A $500 Disaster…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but our recent experience was truly appalling. We visited with a party of 11, including my 88-year-old grandfather. Despite the high price point--our bill was nearly $500--the standards of service and cleanliness were non-existent. The Issues: Accessibility & Cleanliness: There were zero handicap parking spots available. Inside, the restaurant was filthy; there was old food and trash under our booth, and the bathroom was in a state of neglect with toilet paper left on dirty surfaces rather than the holder. The Environment: We were greeted by stained, soiled paper menus and a swarm of fruit flies that stayed with us throughout the entire meal. Poor Service: We waited 50 minutes for basic dinner salads. My grandfather's coffee took 45 minutes to arrive. The waitress appeared visibly annoyed that she had to walk around our booth to serve us. Cheap Substitutes: For the price of a strip steak, you expect quality. Instead, we were served Aldi-brand steak sauce. When I asked for A1, I was handed a filthy, food-smeared bottle that was nearly empty. The "Refill" Incident: Our initial drinks were served half-empty. When we asked for refills, the waitress told us to finish our current glasses because they weren't free and she "didn't want to charge us." In the end, we were charged for them anyway. Overpriced Food: The French Onion soup is served in tiny metal bowls, not crocks. To top it off, we paid $22 for two "slices" of cheesecake to go--one of which was a literal sliver of cake. While the food itself was decent, no meal is worth this level of disrespect and lack of hygiene. I will never recommend this establishment.

The salad was fresh, colorful, and served with warm pita bread, perfect for slopping up every last bit of dressing. This spot is tucked away in a plaza and easy to overlook, but it's definitely worth seeking out. Be sure to check out the daily specials, too. The menu has lots of vegetarian options, and many of the desserts are listed as gluten free. The French onion soup broth was delicious, even if the onions were only translucent and not caramelized. The ingredient that did not square with me were the croutons of seeded rye. Maybe a mistake? The color scheme is purple walls with grey baffles. The noise-abatement measures are somewhat nullified by the volume of the overhead speakers playing late 80's/ early 90's British Wave. (Spandau Ballet, anyone?) The waitresses were lovely, and worked well as a team.
