I stopped in for an early lunch today. I ordered the special .. hot turkey sandwich with gravy ... simply delicious. The bread was thick sliced and the food melted in my mouth. It came with a "cup of soup" .. a cup? The nice waitress brought me a huge bowl of the best split pea and ham soup I ever had. She was super friendly and personable .. but not at all pushy or bothersome. I went for dinner with friends on a Tuesday evening. We were a party of 5. We were told it would be a few minutes. 25 minutes later we left. The wait was ridiculous and people that came in after us were being seated while we were kept waiting. There were 2 sections in the restaurant that were empty so it's not like there wasn't anywhere to put us. I'll remember not to go back there if I'm part of a party larger than 4. read more

I've been to Pegasus a few times. Every time I'm there the servers are vacuuming extremely close to the diners. They have a wall vacuum and a manual sweeper. For the hour we were there 20-30 minutes were vacuuming under, around, and near tables in use. The one pass was so close to my feet under the table that I moved my food to the other side of the table. The hose, which has been dragged all over the floors, was that close. The rest of the restaurant was dark so I bet the floors were clean there already. In fact one of the vacuumers left the wall vacuum on hanging on a chair while they cashed customers out! So the food was good. Traditional solid Greek food. Ambiance - a giant meh because of the vacuuming. read more

Pretty pricey for mediocre food. Generally, potatoes come with hot sandwiches. No so here. The hot turkey sandwich was $9, and they charged another dollar for the potatoes. Potatoes were either instant or reheated, and the turkey tasted like it had been frozen And thawed. My husband did enjoy his Reuben. The service was excellent. ( Leah!). Ate breakfast and glad we did. Fast and efficient and fairly cheap. Four of us had all we wanted plus drinks for $40.00. The place was packed but we got in quickly and the food came out just as fast and they kept our coffee cups full the whole time. Good place to eat. read more

Hands down best pancakes I've ever eaten. Massive portions enough for two easily of the lightest, fluffiest chocolate chip pancakers. Wonderful customer service my boyfriend had the greek omelette which loaded with flavorful gyro meat, feta and all other delicious veggies. I've been to Pegasus a handful of times over the past five years. The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the food has always been pretty good...from your standard American breakfast to a satisfying turkey dinner. The one thing that keeps me from frequenting the place more often is that I always feel like an intruder when I go there. The wait staff has their regular customers to whom they're smiling and friendly, but beware if you're not among the "regular crowd." From the annoyed greeting at the door to the scowling table service, it's obvious that they'd rather not be bothered with folks who don't dine there on a regular basis. So...every year or so, we tend to forget the way we were treated and stop there for breakfast or dinner...only to be reminded time and again why we don't go there more often. read more

Went there for the Sunday brunch, it was the worst brunch I ever had in my life. The bacon was deep-fried and burnt, the ham was then we sliced burnt and dry it out tasted like leather. They had store-bought desserts like hostess cupcakes and donuts. It was in a very dark corner so you couldn't even see what you were putting on your plate, and no signs to tell you what it was either. Had Sunday breakfast before my morning outing. Buffet was full of nice looking food but was very disappointed after trying to eat the biscuits n gravy. Hockey pucks they were over cooked. Desserts were good some way too cold and hard. The chocolate cake was different but over all fine. Eggs bacon sausage were fine but juice was warm yucky tast Over all I was not impressed wth the buffet and I should have stuck wth the regular menu. If you go there for Sunday breakfast ask a table near you what they think of the buffet, or just walk over and see what you think. Also 1 rest room for a large place like this is just crazy. It took me 15 min to get in the rest room cause somebody decided to sit it out and talk on the phone how rude The service was great may I add and it seems clean in the restaurant but I'm gonna stick to my old ways of a menu. Had heard this place is really good from locals and really wanted to like this place. Lettuce in the salad was in poor shape and the restaurant itself wasn't very clean. Could probably call this a typical dive diner. Upside is they serve beer and are open 24 hours. There is no doubt this restaurant is the all-American diner. It serves breakfast all day. The waitresses use the honorifics of Hon,Dear and Sweetie. How's the food? Well, if you like breakfast it's swell. I had scrambled eggs,bacon and toast. All was well-prepared,not burnt,and warm. My companion had hunkered down in there in the early morning hours. That's when this diner thrives. It has a nice homey look from the outside,like the cook and the waitress will cuddle you if you cry. Or at least serve you a piece of Apple Pie and coffee. In short,it's dependable,the food is reliable,and the prices are frozen in the 1950's. Good to visit and maybe become a regular. read more

Pulled over when I saw it on my way to mighty taco because a souvlaki sounded too good to pass up but I was pretty disappointed! When asked, I told them how I felt and got 50% off. This is a decent place to go to if its late at night and you are not sure what you want to eat. The menu has a little bit of everything on it from pastas, subs, salads, burgers, breakfast, seafood and dinners. We arrived and were seated right away there is tons of space. We ordered the pizza fingers and app sampler because we were starving then looked over the menu to decide on meals. I decided on the open chicken solvaki and others I was with got a philly cheese sandwich and chicken parm and the bbq chicken sandwich. The apps were delicious and came out quick. it wasn't long after we were finished they brought the food out the meals we good and hot. The meals were nothing over the top. The serves lacked making sure the drinks were full we always had to ask for more. Other than that the service was good. I would go back and try something if we decided to go back. They had desserts that looked tasty, but was too full to try them. They have typical dinner type foods with a little higher class to them. read more

I'll start by saying service was excellent! That's it.. everything else was awful..one star too much. I was there for breakfast. They seated us right away in a booth that was stained and sticky..the silverware was gross. I started with coffee that tasted like it was a month old. I ordered the Greek chicken omelet.. The chicken tasted like the stuff left in the pan after you cook chicken. It was dry and old tasting.. the omelet all together was cold that the cheese on it was not melted and cold.. the waitress was aware that I didn't like it and asked me if I wanted something else.. Pegasus is one of my favorite restaurants to go for a late night dinner/snack. They have a great variety of food and they never disappoint!

The food here was excellent however our service was not all that great. The waitress rarely came by and the drinks were empty for long periods of time. The fish fry was so good and the macaroni salad was excellent as well as the bread. Will visit again as we were told the service is not always slow. read more

Poor customer service from the hostess as soon as we walked in the door. We came in with our coffee drinks and instead of politely letting us know the policy, she patronized us by saying, "I see three drinks that are not ours." She essentially asked us to leave and that we could come back. The hostess also called us "kids" on the way out. We are very much grown adults at 30 years old. read more

Last time we were there 4 times we requested a different cup of coffee because something was still on the cup or someone's lipstick remained there after going through dishwasher. Best restaurant in Hamburg! The open chicken is out of this world. The owner is a jolly Greek giant! He is the tall guy with the gray hair usually seen standing in the front lobby or cashing people out. The quality has declined night and day from what it was for so many years. I used to love their souvlaki, but apparently they no longer marinate the meat, souvlaki was tough, dry, worse than I make at home on a bad chicken night. Vacuuming next to us was more important than customers. The nature of Greek meat is usually that it is so marinated that it is extremely tender--not the case here! I think the Greeks have left the premises and sold to someone unskilled. There is always a sign for help wanted out front....not good. They actually call themselves a gourmet restaurant, which I don't think should self-titled. Terrible! This was the last chance I will give them, as the meal I had here the previous time was also full of issues around the table, though all of us were too polite to let the waitress know at that visit....we decided to give them another chance.....NEVER again! I do not like throwing my money away! I expect to at least get what I have paid for! Also, one of the guests at our table had no fork, but when requested, the waitress was more interested in taking not only the drink order, but the entire dinner order from the large party next to us first, and only after a second request, she realized that maybe since the dinner was sitting there, getting cold, MAYBE it would be a good idea to provide him with a fork :/. We let the waitress and also the hostess/so-called manager know about chicken (2 of us out of the group had), yet no one offered to take either or both meals off the bill, said "oh, well I hope you'll give us a try again!" Really? I would have been more likely to do that if I hadn't been charged for the plate I left FULL at the table THIS time! I stop by because I need my car repaired across the street. The resturant seems to doesn't care about the detail at all. the plates are still full of washing water, fries are not crispy, diced breads on the salad are not crunchy, NY stripe is ok(my friend ordered it). But I guess I will never figure out why my sausages dinner cost me 13 dollars, there are only 3 sausages and they are same size as the big bite that sold in 7-eleven. Overall, the price doesn't match the quality of food. I am giving this resturant one star only because the atmosphere and the wiser lady who served us. The young servers? Nice cozy atmosphere, yet they have room for a banquet. Menu is very reasonable and the food is excellent. Great place for a Gyro, Souvlaki, a melt, breakfast, or a burger. Excellent seasoned fries, and I do mean excellent. Way nicer than a diner but priced like a diner. Naomi proudly brought me to Pegasus. She loves it. She comes here almost every time she goes to the Hamburg Fairgrounds, and whatever makes her happy is what I make sure she gets. It's my job. Your better half will love Pegasus and so will your wallet. Costs no more than Chinese buffet and is a great alternative. As much as I love Chinese food it is possible to get tired of it, and Pegasus makes all but the best Chinese places look like a dump. This is a great place to keep in mind as a standby for whenever you want to go out but don't know where to go because you can't go wrong with Pegasus. Now that I've been here I can't see myself going to Denny's ever again. read more

If you've never been here let me just say they have 2 different menus (Day and Night)! I think the night one begins at 10 til dawn. I had no idea since I usually went a night and love it there! Day menu is ok too, but I only went there once during the day and had a fabulous french onion soup! Best soup in town I think! I'm a little bias to what I usually get (since it's the same thing evertime I go) but I love the breakfast burrito! great portion and I always have leftovers to take home! My wife and I went here last Friday night for a Fish Fry. I figured we would wait for a table but we were seated immediately our food came remarkably fast and was delicious. We go here often and have never had any problems. The food is good, the service is top notch and it is reasonably priced. Add that to a nice cozy atmosphere with fireplace, you can't go wrong. read more
