Post-workout breakfast here the other day for the first time in years. It was nostalgic visiting since I used to bring my oldest here when she was very young. Definitely more during the fall for their pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes. This special is an all time favorite with my kids. Service was okay during this visit. We barely sat down and the girl came over to ask us if we were ready to order? That wasn't a good first impression. I brushed it off. We decided on a turkey Joe's scramble and a turkey loco moco with the gravy on the side. The overall experience was only four stars. Our turkey was overly salty. We'll remember when we come back to ask the kitchen to take it easy on the salt. We haven't been back in there prior to their updates, but it looks good in there. I've always loved an open kitchen.

    Belgian waffle & huevos rancheros

10am on a Saturday..expected a long wait but we're seated right away. The menu is phenomenal. How do you decide? I've always been a sucker for huevos rancheros, so I went with my gut. I was so glad I did. It is one of those dishes that you think about long after the meal. Hubby ordered the Belgian waffle & we were glad that's all he ordered because the huevos plate is huge! Perfectly cooked, plump pinto beans. An amazing salsa, I think? It was light, fresh, crisp, and the perfect accompanyment to the eggs, Jack cheese, and tasty ranchero sauce. The Belgian waffle was light and crisp. It wasn't cloyingly sweet and featured those extra toasty, tasty bites on the edges. Service was absolutely incredible. We never waited or wanted for anything. My goodness, we will be back. So many things on the menu & plates we saw being served looked so good!

I have never had a bad experience up until the other day. I ordered a BLT I specifically asked for my bread to be toasted light with a side of there yummy Mac salad when I was brought my plate the bread was over toasted the Mac salad was dry it may have needed to be stirred up or something. she took the BLT back to the cook to fix the bread he kept looking at me possibly upset but he should have never even looked at me like that at all,he should have fixed the issue and cooked on. I had mentioned that he looked pissed to my server she said no its me not you so needless to say the bread was not even now barley toasted and when I talked about the Mac she said o its the same as always ok I know its not a new recipe I have had it here lots of times its glossy looking & dry..by this time I'm now disgusted and not hungry.I understand the server was doing her best to back up the restaurant kindly but when your paying for the food and it's not done right or the salad is ronchy it should be made right the second time without the cook mad dogging you because it wasn't made how you ordered it in the 1st place.I said I wasn't gonna pay for it and ended up having to pay for a plate of food..she said do you want a box my response was no if I'm not going to eat it here I'm not going to eat it at home hello!!! There excuse to make us pay for it anyway was you could have ordered something else I said by this 2nd disappointed time I'm no longer hungry... constant kind excuses very sad.

Stopped at Peg's in Sparks this morning for breakfast was greeted by Jesse see it very fast and then was greeted by the server Dominic got us coffee right away and then took our order before you knew it was in front.of you It was so delicious. The place was clean the people that worked. There were all so nice and definitely will be going back soon.

    The new remodel looks amazing!

The new remodel looks fantastic! Pegs now look so clean and airy. There are a lot more tables and booths to sit at. They left the bar area, which is excellent for those who come in alone or don't want to wait for a booth or table. The food is always yummy and hot. My parents enjoy the food, my hubby and our friends enjoy the food, and my daughter and I love Pegs. There tend to be 5-9 of us when we want to come here, and everyone's always satisfied with their order. PS: Their wheat bread is so good! It's one of my reasons to come here and eat!

When I moved here from the Midwest, I was on the hunt to find a good "country" breakfast. Peg's gave me just that. It's a diner type of feel with large portions. I tried the biscuits and gravy and was absolutely not disappointed! Quick service and great food!

Wonderful food and service at this breakfast and brunch institution located in Sparks. We had a vegan special, loco moco, chile relleno and huevos rancheros. All meals were more than we bargained for. Come hungry because the portions are hefty

    1/2 Ham and Eggs

I was invited here to enjoy some breakfast with my mother. It had been a while since I went to someplace new, so I was very excited to come and try it out. I came inside and it was quite the spacious area, lots of seating and many different types of seating too! I was greeting very quickly and taken to my seat. Waitress greetings me and bringing silverware and water in only a minute, if even! The waitress was very kind and quick with helping, even though it was decently busy this morning. I decided to order the 1/2 pound Ham Steak & Eggs. It didn't take very long to get either, maybe 10 minutes, if even. The ham was well cooked and tasted great! Nice and juicy! The eggs were alright, not cooked fully but they tasted alright. The toast was very good! Toasted perfectly and full of flavor! The hash browns were absolutely delicious! Well cooked and full of flavor! Overall, this was an amazing breakfast to enjoy! Definitely recommend you check this place out! Nothing to complain about from my experience!

The staff and restaurant were lovely as always, and you really can't beat the views from dining on the outdoor patio overlooking the Marina. If you have general hesitations when it comes to buffet food, you can put them at ease when at the Water Bar, as even the typical 'filler food' like salad and mashed potatoes were out-of-this-world good. I'm not kidding when I say their buffet-style Caesar Salad was better than any made-to-order Caesar I've had. Same goes for their garlicy mashed potatoes, they were heavenly! The poached prawns were prepared perfectly, and the snow crab legs and claws were delicious and easy to eat (if you're used to shelling your own crab). The soy-glazed salmon with wild rice was surprisingly flavorful and melted in my mouth. Even the mac & cheese was rich and creamy- I can't think of a single item I tried that was sub-par. I ended the meal with a slice of carrot cake that I kept thinking about long after I left. It was moist and well-spiced with a very decadent frosting, the perfect end to a delicious brunch. I will say, we weren't aware the cost per person for the buffet was $80 (it wasn't displayed on the buffet menu, our server didn't share this when telling us about the buffet, and we didn't ask). We have no regrets on opting for the brunch buffet, as again all the food was truly incredible. However, an $80 price tag will likely keep us from opting for the brunch buffet again in the future.

We decided to sit on the patio inspite of it being a very hot day. They have made some well needed update to the "outdoor" seating since the last time I was here. It is now enclosed wth glass and huge umbrellas to provide shade. It was definitely warm, but the view of the Marina is always worth it. We were seated right away and were given menus to peruse while they brought our drinks - no "Wet Woody" so iced tea and an Arnold Palmer fit the bill. The glasses are bottomless - a definite plus. We shared an order of deep-fried Zucchini with dipping sauce. Most excellent. My friended ordered the Dungeness Crab Cakes and I got the Teriyaki Salmon Salad. Both were good. My salad was huge! I had enough left over to take for lunch. Our service was good, a little slow in getting the Arnold Palmer, but otherwise all went well. Chris and Tomas were our servers. Yes, it is worth a return visit.

The scallop dish with the black rice was yum. The gnocchi dish was heavenly. I'm not much of a pesto girl but it was perfectly made and the gnocchi melted in your mouth. So delicious. I didn't try the ravioli but on to the worst of all.... My spaghetti bolognese. It was so salty and the noodles weren't spaghetti at all. It was similar to ramen noodles. I was pretty disappointed and only had a few bites. Seems to me like the cook may have put a ton of effort into the gnocchi and could have focused more on that spaghetti. But overall everyone really enjoyed their meals and I enjoyed the vibes with friends.

I can't believe I haven't updated my review…read more Brought a friend here for dinner. There were three of us. My friend and I had the 6-oz Filet Mignon USDA. I got mine with caramelized onions, baked potato, and fresh veggies. We both got it medium rare. She got hers topped with Point Reyes Blue Cheese crumbles. Her daughter got Filet of Petrale Sole Meuniere. First came a basket of bread. But, two of us are gluten-free. The Waiter made a point to check with the kitchen on all our meals. The steak came out smelling like garlic. It looked so much better than the picture I posted. It was so tender it cut with a butter knife. The color of the steak inside was perfect medium rare. The flavor on the taste buds is what dreams are made of. Some meals we remember for a lifetime. Because every bite is just that scrumptious. I can still almost taste it by just thinking about it. For dessert, we got the classic Bananas Foster, which is made tableside. It is dinner and a show. Bananas Foster is such a decadent treat. The show begins with the melting of the butter, and the aroma will still your breath away. Then add in the brown and white sugars. Several alcohols are used. I believe they use Banana liquor as well as rum. Then a fire is lit in the pan. It sparks when the cinnamon is added. Then the bananas are cooked ever so lightly. Sometimes, too much liqueur is added, and the flavor is off. However, on this night, it was spot on. The sugars and liqueur create a caramel sauce for the bananas, and vanilla ice cream is added. The ice cream that was used tasted like a French Vanilla ice cream with little flecks of vanilla. Each bite was a walk on a cloud. My friends had never had Bananas Foster before. I think they will be back if only for the Bananas Foster. The bananas and caramel with a kiss a vanilla ice cream just send your taste buds to heaven. Each bite will have you desiring more, even if you are beyond full. Each bite is so divine. It tastes so decadent that your mind will be blown that it is bananas and vanilla ice cream. I can't remember the name of our waiter. He was such a delight and made sure we had a great time. This was a meal I will remember for a long time. Thank you to the staff at Duke's Steakhouse. This included: cup of cream of mushroom soup, pretzel bites, spinach dip, poutine fries and Brussel sprouts. 2/5 were a huge hit where the orders we would not try again. Cup of mushroom soup: cup size is a good appetizer portion, good mushroom taste but WAY too salty. Would not order again. Pretzel bites: SUPER YUM! Slightly crunchy at the corners and fluffy inside. Perfectly bite sized and great dips (cheese and mustard). Loved these and would absolutely order again. Spinach dip: not a fan. The one thing I did like about this is that the dip portion was extremely generous, but I was not a fan of the taste. For me it was like slightly watered down sour cream. You have the options of chips or baguette. We went with baguette and for the first time in my life, the dipping vessels were very scant compared to the amount of dip so if anyone orders this, I would recommend it with chips. Would not order again. Poutine fries: YUM! Definitely a shareable portion. Thin fries topped with yummy breaded cheese curds and piping hot gravy this was my favorite thing. The gravy was perfectly salted and I loved the breaded cheese curds. I do wish the fries were thicker, like a wedge cut but honestly these were insanely good. Will order again. Brussel sprouts: made with bacon which is always a must for that yummy flavor. Also drizzled with balsamic which is a win in my book. These were very tender and delicious but very oily or greasy which kind of gave me the ick but flavor was definitely there. Will not order again. We were seated immediately upon arriving and waters were brought out. Orders were taken quickly and food came out quick! However after the food came out, no one came to check on us, see how we were doing or clear plates. We were always having to flag someone down for refills, napkins and the check. It wasn't busy. The inside is clean, has a large bar area and outdoor seating. Also lots of TVs. I don't think I'll be returning, but I do recommend the poutine fries and pretzel bites. Things to note: Have to walk up stairs to enter. No private parking lot, have to street park and a lot of parking is metered. 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Saturday & free on Sundays / holidays.

I was on a trip in Reno for a week conference and one of my colleagues at the conference…read morerecommended BJ's in Reno, Nevada. I we went around 5:30 and sat down right away. The menu was given to us and the waitress was really nice and she recommend recommended some items so we decided to get the shareable and side of Whoop ass fries We also added two more cornbread, and I have to admit their barbecue sauce was really delicious. All their meat was very tender falling off the bone. It was absolutely delicious. The cornbread was very soft and was super moist and most cornbread are hard as a rock. The coleslaw and potato salad I really like a lot. I really love the potato salad because it didn't have a lot of pickles or a lot of mustard in it. It was really balanced and the same for the cole slaw. The service was wonderful the staff were so friendly. I really recommend this place if you're ever in Reno it is a family owned and the food is just really excellent. Side note that Guy Feri diners, drive-ins, and dives was on their wall. So you know this place is legit.

Ouch! First time at BJ's a couple years ago I had a fairly decent meal. Not great, not bad, but at…read moreleast edible. This last time, a couple days ago, I was severely disappointed. Yes, the brisket was actually INEDIBLE! It was dry, tough, rubbery, tasteless. The only way I could even power a couple of bites down was soaking it in the BBQ sauce. At least the chicken I had with it was moist and had SOME flavor. I had the grits and cheddar as one side and it's like they put them in a food processor. Grits should be gritty, not smooth like paste ( I promise I don't eat paste). The Costco applesauce was the best thing I had. We literally had to go out to lunch again. Our service was blah but at we were only charged for one meal. Not sure who finds this place acceptable, but I shall never return. Dammit! JimG
