Post-workout breakfast here the other day for the first time in years. It was nostalgic visiting since I used to bring my oldest here when she was very young. Definitely more during the fall for their pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes. This special is an all time favorite with my kids. Service was okay during this visit. We barely sat down and the girl came over to ask us if we were ready to order? That wasn't a good first impression. I brushed it off. We decided on a turkey Joe's scramble and a turkey loco moco with the gravy on the side. The overall experience was only four stars. Our turkey was overly salty. We'll remember when we come back to ask the kitchen to take it easy on the salt. We haven't been back in there prior to their updates, but it looks good in there. I've always loved an open kitchen.

10am on a Saturday..expected a long wait but we're seated right away. The menu is phenomenal. How do you decide? I've always been a sucker for huevos rancheros, so I went with my gut. I was so glad I did. It is one of those dishes that you think about long after the meal. Hubby ordered the Belgian waffle & we were glad that's all he ordered because the huevos plate is huge! Perfectly cooked, plump pinto beans. An amazing salsa, I think? It was light, fresh, crisp, and the perfect accompanyment to the eggs, Jack cheese, and tasty ranchero sauce. The Belgian waffle was light and crisp. It wasn't cloyingly sweet and featured those extra toasty, tasty bites on the edges. Service was absolutely incredible. We never waited or wanted for anything. My goodness, we will be back. So many things on the menu & plates we saw being served looked so good!

I have never had a bad experience up until the other day. I ordered a BLT I specifically asked for my bread to be toasted light with a side of there yummy Mac salad when I was brought my plate the bread was over toasted the Mac salad was dry it may have needed to be stirred up or something. she took the BLT back to the cook to fix the bread he kept looking at me possibly upset but he should have never even looked at me like that at all,he should have fixed the issue and cooked on. I had mentioned that he looked pissed to my server she said no its me not you so needless to say the bread was not even now barley toasted and when I talked about the Mac she said o its the same as always ok I know its not a new recipe I have had it here lots of times its glossy looking & dry..by this time I'm now disgusted and not hungry.I understand the server was doing her best to back up the restaurant kindly but when your paying for the food and it's not done right or the salad is ronchy it should be made right the second time without the cook mad dogging you because it wasn't made how you ordered it in the 1st place.I said I wasn't gonna pay for it and ended up having to pay for a plate of food..she said do you want a box my response was no if I'm not going to eat it here I'm not going to eat it at home hello!!! There excuse to make us pay for it anyway was you could have ordered something else I said by this 2nd disappointed time I'm no longer hungry... constant kind excuses very sad.

Stopped at Peg's in Sparks this morning for breakfast was greeted by Jesse see it very fast and then was greeted by the server Dominic got us coffee right away and then took our order before you knew it was in front.of you It was so delicious. The place was clean the people that worked. There were all so nice and definitely will be going back soon.

The new remodel looks fantastic! Pegs now look so clean and airy. There are a lot more tables and booths to sit at. They left the bar area, which is excellent for those who come in alone or don't want to wait for a booth or table. The food is always yummy and hot. My parents enjoy the food, my hubby and our friends enjoy the food, and my daughter and I love Pegs. There tend to be 5-9 of us when we want to come here, and everyone's always satisfied with their order. PS: Their wheat bread is so good! It's one of my reasons to come here and eat!

When I moved here from the Midwest, I was on the hunt to find a good "country" breakfast. Peg's gave me just that. It's a diner type of feel with large portions. I tried the biscuits and gravy and was absolutely not disappointed! Quick service and great food!

The place is all boarded up and there are a bunch of construction type trucks, maybe they are remodelling? Can't imagine they would close this location.

The appetizer and drinks came out promptly. However, the iced tea seemed like it came straight from a soda fountain rather than being freshly brewed--in a higher-end restaurant like this, I definitely expect fresh-brewed tea. As for the deviled eggs, they tasted good, but the "lobster" on top was so miniscule that it could have just as easily been tiny pieces of shrimp. It was nearly impossible to tell if it was actually lobster meat. For our entrees, I ordered the Korean Short Rib Tacos, and my dining partner ordered the fish tacos: - Korean Short Rib Tacos: Decent overall. The sauce had a nice, flavorful kick to it. - Fish Tacos: A BIG miss. The fish was clearly not cooked fresh for our meal--it tasted and felt as though leftover fish from yesterday had simply been reheated in a microwave. The consistency and flavor were completely off, to the point where my partner took only one bite and couldn't eat any more. This was a major disappointment. We really wanted to like this place because the setting and space are truly spectacular, but given the quality of the food and drinks, I'm not sure if we'll return.

I hate to update a one star review for a business that my kids love so much…read more I'm not sure what happened yesterday, but I had to give myself a moment before posting because I left that establishment so angry. The service and food were both so disgusting. My family and I dined in last night 7/12 after catching a movie. We were seated in girl Alex's section. I'm not sure whether she received any training in waiting on tables, but she was atrocious. She referred to us all as hun. Umm yes she was unprofessional, but her lack of basic service skills. I'm assuming I'm 20 years your senior. I'm not your "hun," no one in my family is your "hun". I could have wrote that one off, but we waited to get greeted. We waited too long for drinks then waited longer for my kids appetizer. She constantly reached across my husband's face with her elbow in his face to serve me last. Photos below are photos of what was supposed to be a baked potato. It was mashed potatoes in a shell of this disgusting potato skin. She told me, "She had to go check if they had an end cut in stock". I ordered their prime rib weekend special so I could share with my son. She had no clue what an end cut was. It would be nice for your employees to have basic knowledge of your menu and your specials. A tip for you Alex, If you expect a tip, do your basic job. You did not check back with us to see if we needed anything. It's your job to do quality control from the kitchen to us, your customers. I'm sure you wouldn't consume that disgusting excuse for a baked potato, so why would you serve that to me? You did not check back and then you brought a pizookie out with a single plastic spoon. I've been here a million times, but that was a first for me to see a plastic spoon at our table. That was my last straw with you. Just fyi horseradish is a staple served with prime rib. You're obviously clueless because you dropped off A-1? We always tip on service and that was why you didn't receive a cent from us. That's what you earned! Do better! To BJ's we thought she was having a bad day, but she didn't treat this other tables in plain view from our table the way she was with us. The manager was there for at least a half hour, but never circled back or around the restaurant. I would have given that plate to her. She was too busy brown nosing to certain customers. Overall horrible experience. I'm not sure why service here at Bjs in Sparks is either phenomenal or disgusting. No in between. I'll rethink the next time I let my kids decide where we're dining out for dinner or returning to this Sparks location. South Reno location is better all the way around.

The ambiance of the restaurant goes hand in hand with bbq. It's bright, clean, welcoming and family orientated. We ordered an appetizer of yummy onion rings which were freshly fried and hot. Before we devoured the rings our meals were delivered lightening fast. I ordered a bowl of delish clam chowder. It was thick and full of clams with an occasional crunch from the sand. The only downfall was I wish it was a bit hotter for my liking but regardless it was perfect. The brisket one meat platter with mac n cheese and mashed potatoes was full of yumminess. The brisket sandwich was so tender and full of flavor. The fries were out of this world and reminded us of the old fashion pic-nik shoestring potato chips. My only critique involves another server who seemed very chatty with a couple who sat next to our table. She was talking with them a lot. She also made a comment after she noticed me taking photos of the inside saying "you can easily spot out the first timers." I think that's something a server should keep to themselves instead of mentioning it out loud. But that's me. I would've given this review 3.5 stars if I could just for that. Great atmosphere, fantastic artisan food, and very reasonable prices given the portion sizes and quality! The only thing that would make it better is if it was right on the river instead of a block away but prices would probably be higher if that were the case. Everything we had at brunch was fantastic. I don't think you can miss here on the menu. The duck pizza was fantastic but I wouldn't characterize the amount of cheese and toppings as 'generous' but it tasted like the ingredients were really high quality. Outside the pizza, the other items were very generous portions for the price. My only concern was where was everyone on a Sunday early afternoon? The place was like 20% full. The brunch menu is fantastic and there's even all you can drink mimosas and bloody mary's for $25! If people don't get out of their suburbs once in a while and patronize places like this then Downtown Reno isn't going to get more of these great places! Unfortunately, we were stuck back in the rear corner of the building on this visit. The vibes back there are not nearly as nice as the up-front dining. Service was still good even though we were out of view of the main dining area. We started with the cauliflower appetizer. Very well cooked, perfectly tender, and the Calabrian chili oil was perfect for adding some spice. We then ordered entrees, which included the duck duo and a Caesar salad. The Caesar is nothing to write home about. It's fresh and from scratch, but it's just a Caesar. The duck duo came with both duck confit and duck breast. The duck confit was unreal. So tender and so flavorful. The duck breast was a bit tough for my liking, but I really enjoyed the sauce they used on the dish. Most of all, I was shocked by how good the dessert was. We ordered the cast-iron chocolate cake, and it was unbelievable. The sauce that bubbles away in the hot cast iron was spooned onto the rich cake and topped with vanilla ice cream. Nothing better! I miss the old Liberty that used to offer daily specials and killer deals on pasta and pizza, but the new Liberty ain't so bad. It might be a bit more pricey, but still a reasonable option for a nice dinner out in Reno.
