What does a $40 buffet lunch look like in modern day Nevada? At the Atlantis it offers a wide variety of international foods. Salads and fruits is where the buffet typically kicks off, and everything here is fresh and inviting. Along the main line there is Mexican foods, Cheese Station with Caprese Salad, several Asian foods but no sushi, Pizza, a carving station with turkey, ham, sausage, and prime rib, American sides and finally a seafood station. The desert bar has gelato, cotton candy, pies, cupcakes, brownies and more. Coffee, tea, and soft drinks are included. The variety is nice. Everything that is prepared with spices or sauces is on the bland side as if they are cooking for senior citizens that find ketchup too spicy. In my opinion the lack of competition in the buffet space since 2020 is showing. The value for dollar is lacking, even at lunch and with a small locals discount this is now reserved for special occasions as opposed a regular stop. I had a craving for some steak and eggs and since I was in the neighborhood, I dropped by Atlantis' Purple Parrot restaurant. It was a bit of a trek from the main parking lot since it clear across the opposite side of the casino. When I arrived at the restaurant, there was no queue but the restaurant was full of diners. The cashier/hostess greeted me immediately and since I was a lone diner, I had ample choices where to sit; I chose to sit at the bar in-front of the kitchen. My server, Dahlia, appeared momentarily to take my order: (medium well) steak and (over easy) eggs which was served with a side of hash brown and a choice of toast (English muffin) with your choice of jelly (grape). Most of the food was good but the steak was a little tough; I was practically sawing it. Other than that, service (from Dahlia) was very friendly and efficient; in fact, all the servers and hostesses were super accommodating, the quality of customer service you've come to expect from casino and wished from every other business. Overall, my dining experience was positive, but it would have been better had the steak hadn't been so tough especially since the meal was $30. read more

Oh Purple Parrot, I don't know how many times you have to disappoint me, till I completely give up on you. Honestly, I think that this was my last straw on coming back here. Stayed over an hour for fish tacos and Mozzarella sticks, not a singular time did the waiter come over to me and check to see if I needed anything or ask how the food was. I was given my food and didn't even stay long enough at the table to let me get a word in. I also noticed that it wasn't just me, it was everyone my server was "helping". After sitting with my mozzarella sticks at my table for at least 20 minutes, the waiter came over and asked me if I "wanted my fish tacos yet?" Like what?? Never in my life have I been asked if I wanted my food. The food was obviously kept on a warmer, the plate was hot and the food tasted old. The deep fried fish was either in the fryer too long or was a result of the warmer, as was the tortillas which were hard as a rock. My beans *literally* looked like a pile of and my rice looked soaking wet. By the end of the meal, I was just so pissed off I wanted the check so I can go up to the front and pay. The manager was standing right at the register next to the gal that took my payment. She asked how the food was and I told her it was meh, but it was mainly the service that was bad right in front of the manager, again, and he couldn't even be bothered to look up from what he was doing to talk to me about my complaint. A Fresh Vegetable Omelet would have been good as the ingredients were actually fresh vegetables, but both that and the accompanying hash browns had the same aftertaste, like either the oil hadn't been changed for days or the griddle hadn't been cleaned for weeks. The Biscuit with Gravy wasn't bad. I'm from the south so I can't say it was anything special but truly no complaints. I don't know what to think. A dirty grill? Bad oil? This place is very convenient, especially because it's open late at night. The service is very objective, fast, and straight to the point, which I really appreciate when it is late. The food always comes in great portions and is consistently well made. The Caesar salad with chicken is very good, and the country fried steak is now my favorite dish (this photo is just half of the order). Highly recommend. Spacious interior with a lot of tables and bar seating The menu is huge with something for everyone. I got the veggie omelet with biscuit and hashbrowns. The omelet was nothing special but did the job. Hashbrowns are standard but the biscuit was surprisingly soft and fluffy. They asked if I wanted gravy on top but I declined. The booth was clean, and you didn't sink down to the bottom. I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort quality. While we were finishing up our breakfast the conventioneers were leaving. And it's the best one I've ever had! I thought I had found the best one in Western Nebraska, but this today was the top of the heap. And it was huge. My wife and I each ordered one, but we should have shared one order. The strawberry sauce that came with it was as good as I've had. Our server was great and it was a comfortable dining environment. This was our third choice for a meal that day. The place was packed on a Saturday morning. And seemed to be fully staffed too. Which is probably why we went with them as our final choice. It took about 30 minutes to get seated. And when we were seated the service was good and efficient. I ordered up the Monte Cristo. A MASSIVE breaded sandwich. Too much bread for me, but still very delicious and cooked properly, with a wonderful warm side of fruit compote. My wife ordered the basic breakfast with soft scrambled eggs. But when they came they were sunny side up. Just a little glitch. It was rectified as quickly as expected and thankfully she ordered some toast. My buddy ordered the gluten free blueberry pancakes. But the more important part of his order was his diet soda. The glass never fell empty. Someone would sweep by and pick it up and refill it without hesitation. Honestly, looking at the photos here on Yelp I was really adamant about not going. Everything just looked like a bad experience like any other late night casino restaurant. I was genuinely surprised and glad my family didn't listen and had me go anyways. The food was fantastic and everything was cooked perfectly, nothing was over or under seasoned, the jam was in these mini glass containers instead of the typical plastic single serves, bread was literally glistening from the butter and being toasted just right that it had the texture of toast but the color of regular bread while maintaining it's fresh softness. We were served by Steve, he was very accommodating and attentive and the chef let me order the steak skillet despite not being fully prepped which turned out better because I got hash-browns instead of the fries which was so much better, and let my dad order corned beef despite also not being in the late night menus we had.
