On this particular day we ordered by phone, well my son did and he called not once but three times to be hung up on twice and put on hold for at least 10-15 minutes the last time! On that last time, the manager, Mike, was to busy to listen to the order and erroneously did Not do what we asked for! Extra crispy TOFU on our dish! They made this for us before! since my son had a bad time with him on phone I went in to get order and diffuse any situation that may of been a problem if my son had gone in. I asked to see if the TOFU was crispy like we asked and the nice host gave me a fork to check. As I opened the dish, I noticed it looked squishy! I then tried it and it was! I told her no it wasn't what I asked for and asked her to please have them remake it! I then noticed the manager arguing about the dish to the cook and the other person behind the counter about it and I chimed in saying it wasn't crispy like I asked and I have had it this way before and MIKE said they make it this way all the time and I said I have been coming 10 years and I just had it like this the other time no problem and he still argued saying the cook has been making this for 10 years just like this for 10 years...OMG!?!? Really MIke! did you not hear anything I said!?! I ordered it extra crispy not like you make it ! like I ordered it for the last 10 years! Not like everyone orders it, unless they are me and in my head, and know I like it extra crispy! i left upset and disappointed and angry! PeiWei has great food and some healthier options like the new cauliflower rice and you can ask for steamed chicken rather than battered/fried. I'm so glad they added these options. Some of the sauces are high calorie but you can always ask for light. I do wish they would get better surfaces for their tables and drink serving area because they are ALWAYS sticky and do not feel clean. They redid the tables not that long ago and it helped but not great. Perhaps the issue is the open kitchen concept which is cool but likely effects flooring and tables in the restaurant. The staff is always very nice. Edamame is a must for me. Egg rolls are great. PeiWei traditional sauce is a favorite. read more

Visited Pei Wei after a 2-year hiatus. Was on a Friday evening and was surprised to see not many people in the restaurant like it used to be. Ordered the honey-seared chicken with white rice, Mongolian chicken with white rice, and vegetable spring rolls. I alway stuck to these dishes because they were always delicious. However, this time I was really disappointed. The honey-seared was good, but the Mongolian chicken was lacking sauce. The chicken wasn't marinaded enough and it tasted like plain chicken. The worst part of the meal was the spring rolls. These used to be my favorite, but they were so greasy and there was hardly any filling. You could press on it and it would flatten like a pancake. I was so disappointed. What on earth happened to the quality? Would I go back there again? Maybe, if they improved. But probably won't anytime soon. Such a disappointment. read more

A regular Pei Wei spicy chicken with fried rice and a honey seared chicken with steamed rice. Why is one full, and one is half empty? Forget ordering a salad to go. The dressing 1 oz cups are only half full, if you're lucky. The standard seems to 1/3 full. What's up with that??? The food always taste great, but I can great food other places. I'm done! Update: went back today for take-out. Ordered lettuce cups instead of rice. No lettuce cups. And no rice. Update 12/12/18: I placed an order on the app and paid for it. When I got to the store I told them to make sure there's extra sauce on it because there's never enough sauce anymore. For four dishes she charged me an additional $2.99. We have eaten at this location many times, but yesterday will be the last. Dinner last night with my 13 yo granddaughter was orange chicken for her and appetizers for me. The orange chicken was full of gristly parts and not very good. The crab wontons were full of what tasted like chicken and not good. An off meal could be excused but within 1 hour my sweet girl was vomiting profusely. Within 2 hours the diarrhea started. I believe the culprit (given the rapid onset) was food poisoning. It was a very long night in my house and a trip to the doctor will happen this morning Quality control at this location has been slipping for a time but we liked the food. This is probably my least favorite Pei Wei in all cities I have encountered the Wei, yet it still earns three stars. Why? The food! This place always has a line. No matter what time of day: expect to wait. You can even tell from the outside parking lot, you are generally going to be walking a little, never parking directly in front. The good news is that everything on the menu is tasty. So as you shuffle forward in line you get a chance to examine the menu billboard and make your selections. My choice? The orange chicken! The snap peas and carrots really round out the awesomeness of the chicken. The cashiers are hit or miss. One of them seems to have a hearing problem as she constantly asks everyone to repeat everything they say - its not that loud in here, really. After placing your order make sure you grab the bottle of hot sauce and bring it to your table - it is muy bien! I like to put a bunch of the hot sauce on mine and it really brings out the flavors.
