Service was prompt and friendly. Cost is reasonable and parking available. It is a bit difficult to find but if you head towards the RR station you will see it. Came during a slow time of day. Friendly attentive staff, was a little chilly in there though. Food was played very nicely. Delicious tea served. The orange chicken is amazing. The young lady that helped us to our seats, took our order, and served our foods was quiet, polite, and friendly. My family were all very happy with this outing. I was at Home Depot yesterday and craving some Chinese so decided to order my favorite dish from the Basil Ginger next door which turned out to be a huge mistake! I was so disappointed and underwhelmed with the dish I vowed to never go back and overpay for their food again. Very next day, still craving good Chinese I went to PeKing and was so grateful I did! Service and Ambiance are great! What was very underwhelming, was the food. It was flavorless and bland. I loved the complimentary tea, that was a nice touch and a very tasty start. The wontons had a tiny pork turd and the potstickers had no flavor. Orange chicken tasted bland and although I as covered in sauce... it was still dry. I had the sweet and sour chicken and Mongolian beef lunch combo wand added hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup comes in large sharing bowl size only- but was well priced and worth it. The food was hot, fast, yummy and well priced. The hot and sour soup was excellent... maybe could be a little hotter but the sour and flavor was right on -which is rare. The service was friendly, efficient and welcoming. The ambiance was good- a nice sit down place and good for kids. read more

Our annual Christmas Eve dinner. We honestly were going to order from Burger Jim's, but when I called to get delivery they told me it's a 5 mile area. We are 7 unfortunately, long story short that's the first time they didn't deliver out here. So, we decided to try Peking again. It had been a few years, and after checking Door dash I saw we could order and pick up. (Also, the prices matched menu prices). Our meal consisted of- Mongolian beef with extra meat, and upgrade to pork fried rice. Sweet and sour chicken with no rice, and extra meat. Peking fried rice with extra meat. Egg rolls, shrimp, Rangoons, and pot stickers. Honestly, it wasn't overly sweet. The quality and quantity of the ingredients was good. The rice could have been cooked hotter, I like that fried rice taste that can only come from a Wok that is properly heated. Otherwise, really good. The beef was good, definitely not overly sweet and that is a win for us. The chicken was really good, again not super sweet. I think the quantity of chicken after I ordered with extra meat was lacking a bit. The egg rolls were a bit small but had a good flavor and were cooked properly. The crab Rangoon was cooked well but lacked that flavor, to me they just tasted like cream cheese. That's unfortunate due to the cost, 2 orders was $21. Shrimp, well they were shrimp. Pot stickers, my daughters said they were good. Overall, the food was good. The remodeled interior of the restaurant looks good, we will probably try dine in next time. Gotta try some soup! Price wise, it was $139 that fed 5 of us with leftovers in the fridge for Christmas Day snacking. read more

I have been here before and always thought the food was good, restaurant was clean and service was great-- I cant say that for todays visit. Our server seemed disconnected, never checked back in on our table, and didn't seem like she tried to make manners better. Soooo I was in the middle of writing this post and I threw up. I'm really hoping it not food poisoning, it just went from two stars to one... Food was decent, not really interested in going back. Staff wasn't really friendly. Whatever you do, don't get the beef wontons. It was like eating a soggy chip, or nasty bread, and there was a small little piece of beef in the middle of a large piece of their "fried dough." This is by far the most authentic, honest Asian food in the valley. 30+ years...and still a favorite.Whenever I go anywhere else in Alaska's or even anywhere in our lower 48 travels...Peking is what I compare them to. This is the place my kids ask me to bring to them back from AK. Mongolian beef. Hands down get every time. Every time! General Tso's chicken... our second go to...this version served here is not the over breaded crap you get at sick panda type stores... We got take out and wow, the shrimp fried rice has got to be the blandest fried rice I've ever eaten. They literally give you 3-4 pieces of shrimp and charge a premium for it. The fried rice at - dare I say it?! - Panda Express is more delicious (touted with the promise of NO MSG) than this garbage. I had to do something that ive never done before with fried rice - I opened a packet of soy sauce and poured it all over the rice. I usually avoid soy sauce unless I'm eating sushi, since my palate is sensitive to high sodium foods. Just because there's such a small population if Chinese (or Asian in general) doesn't give them the excuse to make crappy food and charge a premium for it. I can't really rate their service because we had delivery, but the food arrived in a timely manner. It's most likely due to the chefs tossing everything together carelessly. Thank goodness that I'm from California, and only a short drive away from amazing/authentic/cheap Chinese food in Los Angeles. Plus, my mom, siblings, and boyfriend can make better fried rice than this place. Good thing I also stuffed my face at din tai fung, cham sut gol, genki living, and Sunday Bistro for the two weeks prior to my visit to Alaska. My wife and I have eaten here often. The food is good and the service is okay. The serving size at around $10 a plate isn't to bad (from the menu not the buffet) although recently it seems to have diminished a little. It's not bad food for the price but I'm sure they could season it up a little more then they do to add a little more kick. Other then that they always bring WAY to much rice. I've been here a couple of different times, and find the food mediocre at best. Last night we went for dinner. Service was speedy & staff was friendly, but upon arrival one of our hot tea cups was filthy & the table was a less than sparkling clean. We were kind of in a corner near a strange collection of things piled up on some adjacent tables (a telescope, a large window fan, computer box, printer, fax, stereo). Hubby ordered the Mongolian Beef & Sweet & Sour Chicken special - it came w/fried rice, soup, an egg roll and a fried wonton for $15. He said it wasn't the greatest. I had the Mongolian Beef & Sweet & Sour Shrimp for $17(?). I honestly couldn't tell there was shrimp inside the soggy batter. Didn't really care for the flavor in the egg roll. The egg drop soup was good, but had overly soft (falling apart) matchsticks of zucchini. I would have preferred the zucchini had more of a crunch to it. The fried rice was okay too, had bits of pork (?) in it and seemed to have a LOT of onions. We really don't have any decent Chinese food (in my opnion) in the Valley, but we thought we'd give them a try again. This was after we stopped at the Chinese over by Ihop (can't remember the name), walked in, it was packed (all 8 or so tables) and an older gentleman was walking out and said it would be at least 1 1/2 hrs to get food. read more
