Just ordered a take out a couple of minutes ago and honestly, the Cashier today (6 Dec 2020) is so rude, so as soon as I got my order, I told her diplomatically smiling and straight up "can you do me a favor please and don't be rude." She responded I am rude too. She should learn the courtesy of taking feedback from customers. Tried this restaurant for the first time a couple days ago. I had given up on good Chinese food in town because everywhere I've been has just slowly decreased in value. But I was definitely surprised by how great the food here was. It was delicious and there was enough to serve two people and still have some left for leftovers two days later. We left SF at the wrong time of day...5:30 on a Friday night. It took us 2.5 hours to get from the Golden Gate Bridge to Fairfield....At that point we were starving. SO we hop on yelp looking for some Chinese Food....The Peking Restaurant had good reviews and for good reason. May I first of recommend their spicy wonton. Its wonderful! Not only is the broth a nice mix of spice and lemon grass but the wontons were splendid. We also ordered the mongolian beef, chow mein and beef fried rice. All of it was excellent...But the real deal about this restaurant is the people that own and work there. Incredibly pleasant, and it seems that everyone that went in there were known by name. We will be stopping again on our next trip to the City. read more

I ordered the fried spare ribs, sweet & sour pork, Chinese bbq beef with spinach, and the house fried rice. The spare ribs are crispy and fun to eat. They come with a sweet sauce, not like the thin- runny kind you usually get. This stuff was thick and sweet :) The portions are huge for the price! I ordered for two and it's enough for four. The woman at the register said they have been there for 27 years and I know why. And it was a total bonus seeing all the cute old couples chowin' down side by side :) read more

Just tried this restaurant after reading its good reviews. The 2 female employees were very friendly and provided perfect service. The egg foo yung which is not found easily in the bay area was a unique style...mostly egg in the pancake and then a pile of meat and vegetables on top. It was okay, but I prefer the more traditional style. The gravy was not as thick as I'm used to, but like I say, this particular dish is their own creation in order to be different. Almond chicken: chicken was wonderfully tender so this was a good dish. Also, the house rice was good and I never add flavor to fried rice, but this dish needed just a dab of soy sauce to bring it to my liking, so once again, a good dish. My FAVORITE item were the shrimp egg rolls my husband ordered. More like a fried shrimp appetizer, but with green onion and a green pea or 2 inside the wonton wrapper. Fresh, light and filling and you get 8 of them! I could have made dinner just out of those...I loved them. read more

My co-worker and I ordered to go today and we made sure to specifically mention my food allergies. I ordered the curry chicken which is usually a safe bet at most Chinese restuarants. I am extremely allergic to seafood and mushrooms. The person on the phone assured my friend that everything would be safe and that they would make sure to keep mushrooms and seafood out of my order. Got the order back to the office, looked great, smelled great. Took a bite and my throat started hurting. Took a drink and moved my food around and under the first layer of curry was a ton of mushrooms! Went into anaphylactic shock. My friend helped me with my medication and contacted the restaurant. They told her sorry and offered her a replacement for next time. It will have to be for her because I can't trust the place to be mindful of allergies. read more

Peking is a great Chinese restaurant. The reason I'm writing this review is that I lived in Fairfield for over 20 years and Peking is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. They don't have fancy scrolls on the wall with vaulted ceilings or granite countertops with motion recognition faucets in the restrooms... What they do have is delicious food and fast friendly service. I highly recommend Peking Restaurant, oh and make sure you try the general tsao (Szechuan) chicken it is ridiculously good. I do hesitate to post this review since we are in the middle of a pandemic and restaurants are struggling. That being said, if businesses want to remain open, they need to provide quality. I am posting this review because of that lack of quality. We ordered 6 items. We did not keep the leftovers, of which there was plenty (we always over order so we can have leftovers). Nothing tasted very good at all. The biggest issue was the appetizer sampler plate. First, they put the appetizers on lettuce. Why would you put crispy items on wet items? Soggy grossness. That was the least of it. Eggrolls were not good, besides just being soggy. Wings were flavorless; literally no seasoning or sauce. Shrimp were not fresh cooked. I think they must pre-fry and then refry. One of the shrimp was so dried out it was inedible. How many times over how many days was this thing fried? Then the topper were the ribs. They were unrecognizable and burnt to a crisp. Seemed like they had been recooked 5 times over 3 days. I pulled a piece off to see if it was just the outside; it wasn't and no seasoning. Tasteless food is one thing, but to willingly serve ribs that looked like black rocks is just not ok (not to mention the old shrimp). And the curry rice noodles had an odd taste to them as well as tasting of uncooked curry. Maybe it was an off day, but we won't be going back. read more

We ate both lunch and dinner with a large group and shared multiple dishes for both meals. The staff warmly greeted us when we arrived and provided prompt service throughout our meals. Both soups we ate were great - mashed chicken with sea food soup and hot and sour soup. We enjoyed all the entrees. Several favorites are: mongolian beef, barbecued pork fried rice, crispy chicken salad, lettuce wrapped chicken, glazed walnut prawns, and slices of fish with black bean sauce. Dropped in late on a Sunday night. Surprisingly the place wasn't empty even at this late hour and it looked like takeout service was busy. We ordered hot and spicy wontons. This is an authentic dish whose presence on the menu tells me something special. Their rendition of it was excellent and I highly recommend it if you haven't had it before. It's Gglike a dumpling heavy, very spicy wonton soup. we also ordered sesame beef, honey walnut prawns, and house fried rice. The beef met expectations and the walnut prawns were an excellent rendition of another authentic dish. The house fried rice was very generous with the meats and also exceeded expectations. Since it was off hours it's not that surprising, but the service was also particularly attentive and friendly.
