Excited to try it out- we had crab roll tacos and grilled fish tacos. Right at lunchtime- 1pm on a sunny day- there was no one to take our order at the counter- had to wait. Maybe short staffed? Grilled fish on taco itself was nice but the rest of it was not good- had what seemed like grilled canned pineapple in it? and the crab roll tacos were basically fried egg rolls - not tacos at. Yes real crab but no flavor! Just crab and wrap-unseasoned and I pictured something like what I saw on their website. Habanero mango salsa was pretty sweet and you can't taste anything but that when you use it. Unfortunately that's what came with both dishes. It doesn't complement the dish at all , it hides it. We didn't use it. Pretty disappointing experience. They do have a nice outdoor seating area. Maybe there's better items on the menu and we just missed it. read more

Very disappointing experience. We ordered a seafood platter for 3, but were first served a platter that looked like it was meant for 1 person, with only one type of seafood -- shrimp. After pointing it out, they switched it to a platter for 3, but it was still missing crabs and other types of seafood that should have been included. We also ordered clam chowder, which arrived cold. The total bill was $189, but the food we received was worth around $50 or less based on portion and quality. Completely unacceptable and not worth the money. Yeah, I get why this place has an average of 3.5 star reviews. We visited on a Sunday afternoon around 3PM, and it was not very crowded, but the tables were quite dirty. My parents had recommended this place(They had visited about 1.5 years ago saying this place was amazing. They had Halibut fish and chips and recommended it, but they didn't have Halibut on the menu this time). When we went to order, there was no one at the window, just a sign that said they'd be back, so we waited, and waited, until about 3 other groups showed up ready to order too. It seemed like she was doing everything, and occupied so often that she wasn't able to be at the window. Makes me wonder if maybe she's being overworked or if someone called out. We ordered: - Singaporean Pub fish and chips(the only fish and chip option available) for $21- (2/5) The fish was dry and flavorless, like it was grocery store cod pulled out of the packet and fried. The batter was thick, but not terrible. They seemed to cushion the meal with a disproportionate amount of fries. It used to be a good amount of fish and less fries, now it's the opposite. I was hoping for good fish and chips after missing the ones from the UK, but this was so disappointing! - Polynesian Fish Burrito for $17 - Last I remembered, Polynesians used spices. I chose this based on the description, it sounded like it woukd be delicious, but it wasn't! It was also small and bland. This arguably may be the worst fish burrito I've ever had... On top of that, the dry fish wasn't ideal along with the rice. Also, now that I think about it, this may be the most expensive fish taco I've ever had. Also, no water, you can buy a bottle of water. However, you cab walk to the restroom and they have a water fountain. She also gave us way less ketchup in ratio for fries, so I went to go ask for more and she wasn't at the window again. I waited another 15 mins for a handful of ketchup... Yeah, there are so many other delicious shops in this area, I'd skip this place and go elsewhere. I did see a lot of folks purchase crabs from the boats on the dock and have this place boil it for them for $10. It seem that was the most popular food choice here. read more

I am unsure how to rate this... Fish and chips were good. Crunchy fresh fish and I also like the fries' seasoning. Clam chowder- has a lot of ingredients- potatoes, corn kernels and the usual ones, but it is a little watery for me. Seafood platter- this broke the deal for me. the sauce were delicious, and the corn, potatoes, sausage and shrimps were all delightful. I do feel ripped off though, the picture I have attached for the seafood platter cost $60, with a lot of the other ingredients except the shrimp. Also, they called it seafood platter, the only seafood there was the shrimp. They did say it was the base one and if you want more seafood, then you can add more but will also cost more. The ambiance is good though... you're eating at a table with a table-fireplace while looking at the ocean... but everywhere you go in HMB you can get that ambiance. read more

Stopped by the harbor to pick up a Dungeness crab. Couldn't find any on a boat, so came here. Staff was friendly and went out of their way to help us find a good crab (we were looking for a 2lb-er). They also helped inform us of cooking instructions. The only disappointing thing was we paid full price for a crab with one baby claw. We didn't realize it until we got home. Minor oversight. We were staying within walking distance from here and wanted some fresh seafood. We actually ended up visiting twice during the weekend and took some seafood home with us. The product was excellent. Only loses one star because the staff seemed under-trained. On our first visit the clerk had to make multiple calls to someone to find out how to ring up our fish. This place has quickly become my neighborhood gem--reminding me of how Princeton Seafood used to feel back in the day. It is just steps away from the fishing boats which means the seafood is about as fresh as it gets. The market side really stands out, offering an excellent selection of just-caught fish, whole fish straight off the docks, and amazing deals--especially on halibut, which I got for $10 a pound. I love that the staff will even cut up fish I've bought from the docks for a small fee. On the restaurant side, the menu's variety and quality keeps me going back. The calamari and chips are delicious, the fish and chips have crunchy fresh fish with great fries seasoning, and the shrimp tacos and salmon BLT are always solid choices. Even the burger, for a non-fish option, is incredibly juicy. I've also enjoyed the seafood platter's sauces and the practical option to have them cook up my freshly purchased crab from the boats for just $10. Even the popsicles and ice cream sandwiches after a meal are a fun touch. I've noticed the staff is generally friendly and helpful. The team goes out of their way to guide me to the best catch and offer cooking advice, which makes shopping or dining here a pleasure. The atmosphere is a big plus as well: plenty of patio seating, views of the bay and yachts, and a cozy table-fireplace setup that makes for an inviting dining experience by the water. Service can be slow, but it's because they are new and have a lot of business. Be patient as they work it out. I am only writing this review for the fish market, I know they opened the restaurant this weekend (Labor Day weekend 2025). Okay so I went here back in Febuary and honestly if I had written my review then it would have been 2 or 3. But for the last month or so I have been going there and it has become the neighborhood gem that Princeton Seafood was back in the day when Marty owned it (went downhill and overpriced since then). Big difference was hiring Hector from Half Moon Bay Seafood company (a place I never go to, too $$$ and I hate the upsell they put on you). I have been getting hold Halibut and also had him cut up one for me that I bought off the docks that he happily did for $10. They have a great selection of fresh fish and have a good line of whole fish off our docks if you are willing to buy more but save a lot. At $10 a pound recently for halibut for around $100 you get 6.5 pounds of fresh caught Halibut that is as good as halibut can get. Highly recommended and I love that this is a go-to place again. read more

You order and pay ahead. But hard to see what they charge you until you paid. They give you a receipt which is not the final amount you agreed to pay. I didn't realize that the tax was almost 15% of the subtotal. I've never been to a restaurant that charge over the state sales tax without itemizing what other 'tax' they are charging. And paying what they stated on the payment screen of a12% gratuity equates to 19% instead. Check your bill before you pay. Food was fine. read more
