This place is awful. I've tried take-out there several times and multiple times I've ended up with sub-standard food that doesn't match what I order. Once they gave me some banana pudding which had clearly been stored, frozen and expired. I felt sick from taking a few bites and had to throw it away. Tonight I ordered cowboy burger, advertised as "premium blend, pulled bbq brisket, cheddar cheese, horseradish slaw" I took it home and found a plain patty and a bun. Having had enough, I took it back to complain. The place was full of people dining in so lots of people saw me complaining. The bartender tried to make it right, she was at least polite and friendly, but an apparently drunk bar patron had a problem with me complaining and tried to pick a fight with me. Tempers were flaring so I decided to leave to avoid a confrontation. Later I felt bad for the bartender who was caught in the middle so tried calling to have a more amicable conversation. Unfortunately, a rude and aggressive manager answered the phone, would not transfer me to the bartender, and was immediately hostile with no provocation. He accused me of "throwing food" (which I did not, I had set the box on the bar said something like "what the heck is this?") The manager insultingly offered a cold burger to "make it right". I told him I could not accept cold food as "making it right" and told him a freshly cooked meal would make it right. The manager then tried to pick a fight with me over the phone and started yelling. He tried to blame me for leaving the place while they were preparing a corrected burger and waiting 30 minutes to call back. He clearly was not interested in making anything "right" but instead wanted to extract some sort of revenge for complaining in front of other customers. I still feel bad for the bartender --- she did try to make it right. But this place has repeatedly screwed up the food and if you dare complain you get hostile treatment in returned. The manager is absolutely deplorable, and they have at least one dangerously rude bar patron. I am finished with this place. read more

One & done. If we didn't have a toddler with us, we wouldn't have even stayed. Easter Buffet. Decent price, but the only drink included was water. Asked for orange juice, only for the kids. We had to go downstairs to the bar to purchase iced tea & soda. The music was so loud that we couldn't even have a conversation. The egg hunt they claimed would be on the golf course, was just a bunch of plastic eggs on the outdoor patio, as was the "petting zoo", 2 rabbits in a cage. The food was okay. Typical scrambled eggs, undercooked bacon, frozen sausage links. The real kicker was grabbing an eggs Benedict & when we got to the table noticed the egg was missing. Breakfast potatoes were dry. The mac & cheese was flavorless. The only thing everyone agreed was good was the chicken tenders. Our waitress was no where to be found & never took the dirty plates from our table. This was not the type of Easter Brunch we are used to & after reading the most recent reviews, we will not be returning for the once deemed amazing prime rib dinner. read more

The Dancing Crane at Sandhill is quite a unique place to dine! Joe, the manager is incredibly friendly and always goes out of his way to make sure you have everything you need. The entire waitstaff is just as warm and attentive (especially Colin). One thing people don't realize is that the restaurant is open to the public, you do NOT need to be a member of the Sandhill Crane Golf Club. So many think it's members-only, but that couldn't be further from the truth! The food is consistently good and they offer great happy hour specials, fun game nights, and a fantastic bottomless Sunday brunch. You can sit inside or enjoy their screened-in outdoor area overlooking the golf course. That's my favorite place to sit and hang out while we are there. We could not have asked for a more perfect venue for our daughter's wedding. From start to finish, everything was absolutely spectacular. The staff went above and beyond to make the day run smoothly, and every detail was handled with such care and professionalism. Not only was the setting gorgeous, but even the vendors they recommended were fantastic. Hair, makeup, wedding planner & DJ. Each one was reliable, talented, and added so much to the celebration. Our family and friends are still raving about how beautiful and seamless everything was. Everyone raved about the food! We are so grateful to have celebrated such a special day here. Amazing views. Great & personable service by Pearla. My salmon was undercooked (raw inside) and Pearla ensured we got better food & I was satisfied with it. Live music was cute and all of the golf course greens around the patio was great ambiance. Sandhill cranes walk around the property and are friendly. Very pleased to find Max at The Dancing Crane! Based on previous experiences with his management, our expectations were high. Max gave us plenty of individual time with him, explaining the menu and his involvement in this location. The menu choices were intriguing and we started with the Pretzel Bites with honey mustard and beer cheese dipping sauces. For someone who does not care for pretzels, this was fantastic! The mustard sauce was perfect and the feedback on the cheese sauce was very good. Our next shared item was the Beef Sliders, deemed to be fabulous by all who tried them! Our group enjoyed the flatbreads, the Club Handhelds, and the salads. I had the Fattoush Salad, minus the Feta and Avocado - closest I could get to a Vegan/No Avocado offering. However, the Velvety Lemon Dressing was out of this world! I was disappointed that there was not a more substantial vegan offering on this varied menu. The real disappointment was the Truffle Parmesan Fries. Definitely would not order them again. Good news at the end, though - the desserts come from Prosecco Cafe, so the highlight was the Tiramisu! Based on reviews we were excited to try this place. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Even though we were the only table there....Service was terrible. Food was bad. The steak clearly was frozen, low quality and tough. Even the salad was bad. Also surprised that given the illusion this was a slightly upscale place... they don't even carry coke or Pepsi products... they serve a generic "cola". Hope management makes changes. I had been passing a sign for this restaurant almost daily and curiosity finally got to me. Located on a golf course, this restaurant is reminiscent of a charming little steak house. Hard wood floors, a long bar and tables with comfy chairs makes this restaurant as visually appealing as is the food. They have daily specials and on my trip the special was the prime rib dinner. Soft, juicy and served with choice of sides, this dinner left me happy and contented. Also they have half price apps daily, but I'm not sure about the hours for that deal. I visited the Dancing Crane a few years back when the menu was limited and the food was nothing memorable. I came back for a business lunch and was very pleasantly surprised by the variety of dishes offered and everything tasted great! I ordered the buffalo cauliflower to start - the breading had a kick (not too spicy), covered in melted bleu cheese and a side of ranch dressing - I could have eaten this as my main and I would have been satisfied. My co-worker ordered the pretzel bites which were warm, flavorful and great dipped in ample amounts of mustard and cheese sauces. For my main, I opted for the banh mi and fries. The meat was tender, the flavor was complex - salty, sour, and sweet, thin quick pickled ribbons of carrots, all on a fresh sub roll. The fries were also thin and crispy - just like I like them. Serving a 15 person table is not easy, but our server was fantastic. She got our food ordered, it was out in no time, and before we knew it, we were all paid and ready to leave to get back to work. I'm glad that I tried the Dancing Crane again. I look forward to the next time I dine there! read more

Went on a Friday night for the Prime Rib special. The meal was accompanied by a fresh garden salad, baked potato, and a medley of grilled broccoli and carrots. The prime rib was seasoned well and the temperature was as ordered. (Med Rare). Our daughter had the blackened fish tacos which she enjoyed and commented on the abundance of flavors with jalepeno aioli, fried avocado, and pineapple salsa. Overall it was a good meal but wish the food was a bit hotter upon delivery to the table. Service was excellent. Alaina was attentive and always available for anything we needed additionally. We sat on the patio which is now screened in with plenty of fans for a nice breeze. Wonderful view of the evening sunset on the golf course. An unexpected bonus was all the wild rabbits cross- crossing the greens as we ate. Super cute! read more

Used to do their Friday Prime Rib special for $19.99, a nice thick juicy 12 oz or 16 oz for $25. Now the prices are $32-$36....and the prime rib was 4 oz of FAT! Vegetables are always frozen undercooked and potato dry. It seems since Covid, restaurants have doubled their prices, unjustifiably so. With the influx of northerners that have moved down prices have skyrocketed, I actually heard people at another table exclaiming how CHEAP the prices were one Friday night @ the Prime Rib Special...and low and behold now it's up 60 - 80% increase. Not a 5 star restaurant, it's a golf course pub!! Not everyone out here lives in the million dollar gated communities to afford those prices....but even on occasion it might be worth it if the food quality was. It's sad to see the development's building into our precious wetlands and pushing the wild animals out of their habitats and into our neighborhoods, how many Golf Courses does the State need?? What these northerners retiring don't realize is Fla wages are half that to NY wages...that's why things WERE cheaper here! Fla's roads can't take this surge! We don't need more concrete and asphalt....keep it country out here, and affordable to all. PEACE. PS don't usually write negative reviews but my husband and I looked forward to Friday's Special and put it in our budget, but as the prices got higher and the quality lowered we stopped going. It's my first time at the Dancing Crane and it did not disappoint! The location is absolutely beautiful and well kept and every single staff member was SO nice. Avi went out of his way to make sure our experience was top notch. Nina, our server was so kind and wonderful and the chef put out beautifully presented plates! Showstoppers! I ordered the salmon, and it was a perfect medium. Flavorful yet juicy and perfectly cooked. The sweet potatoes and greens complimented it perfectly. 10/10. My fiancé ordered the steak sandwich and it was an amazing steak sandwich with aoli and a crispy onion ring with truffle fries on the side. Amazing, amazing, amazing. The only thing that saved this place from being a zero was the service. We were there after a funeral. It took us a while to even get attended when we were, the server was incredibly friendly. We got to the table and it was unbelievably dirty. They were stuff everywhere and we had to ask several times for it to be wiped down. The menu was incredibly, non-vegetarian friendly, and we asked for simple things like taking the meat out of a dish, and they were not willing to accommodate. I was absolutely shocked - this is the first time I've been to a restaurant in years and they wouldn't accommodate a simple request like that. Of course, there were no options to begin with. There were several of us that had this request but no go. It was a bit expensive, but that's to be expected inside of a country club in south Florida. The servers were very very friendly, but several of the meals were wrong, and I couldn't figure out who had what. To be honest this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we have had in a long time. read more

Sadly, we had to request a rag to wipe down our own table. The edge of the table was so filthy that someone's nasty old food stained my shirt. Apparently, when the table leaf is collapsed, all of the food that went into the crack when the leaf was engaged just congeals in the crack. No one thought to wipe this down? The server brought a rag for us to wipe the nastiness ourselves. If this is what goes on in the front of the house, I hate to see what goes on in the back. read more

What a fabulous meal and an even better deal! The Friday night, prime rib dinner, at The Dancing Crane is not to be missed. When not dealing with Covid, this special dinner was all you can eat, but with the current situation the restaurant team has adapted it to be a fabulous evening of table service dining. The menu isn't extensive, but if the rest of the dishes are anything like our prime rib, I can't wait to try everything! Located right off the golf course, the outdoor patio is the perfect area to grab a bite and enjoy the view; even at dinner time when it was dark, the ambiance of sitting right on the green was quite enjoyable. I think it's also important to note that the outdoor tables were distanced very well from each other and made us feel safe having an outdoor dining experience. Our waiter, Justin, was fabulous; he was attentive throughout the course of our meal, extremely personable and even had a great sense of humor to keep the evening light and fun. He was knowledgeable about the food and the golf club in general and truly made a wonderful impression for the restaurant and staff. The prime rib dinner was $20 ($4.95 extra if you upgrade from a 16oz cut to a 20 oz/king cut). The meal included a salad to start, the prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes and roasted vegetable medley. The salad was crisp and fresh, the dry rub on the meat was fantastic, the mashed potatoes were tasty (from what I heard...I had double veggies) and the vegetables were flavorful and cooked to perfection. We decided we had to try dessert, and anything chocolate is normally our go to. We shared the chocolate mousse dessert special and I wish I had gotten my own! Don't even get me started, chocolate mousse meets brownie in this decadent plate. It was beautifully prepared and presented, the pastry chef deserves all the credit for creating such a delectable chocolate treat; the mousse was smooth and velvety and the brownie base was chewy and fudgey. I can't wait to enjoy another meal at The Dancing Crane. Would love to stop by to grab lunch soon so I can truly take in the course side views, but I'm also excited to stop by on a Tuesday for all you can eat Tacos! read more

Before going to this restaurant I had seen 50/50 reviews. I was a bit skeptical but decided to go anyways to seek my own opinion. I am so glad we went! Started with bottomless mimosas, which our server was so great, kept up with the whole time. Appetizer was the delicious pretzels with cheese. The pretzels were so hot and fresh, so good! And then came out with our entrees. Which was a surprisingly big portion, and so delicious. Overall my fiancé and I are so happy we went! This place exceeded our expectations. Definitely will be coming back. If you're on the fence, go and check it out yourself. You'll be happy you did! I've come to The Dancing Crane with my family ever since it has open. We've been here maybe 10-12 times, mostly for breakfast, and liked the menu and the food. The service was also good as the manager would visit the table and thank us for coming in and ask how everything was on the visit. Unfortunately the last 2 times we were here for breakfast we've seen the change and it is not good. About 3 months ago, the food was very salty compared to previous visits. This time I experienced a serious decline in all aspects. First, the breakfast menu changed. No more of my favorite cheesy crepe. It's only available on the buffet as a crepe station. Second, the server provided less than stellar service. She delivered food and forgot who got what. Third, they even changed the dishes. The regular coffee cup with a saucer was fine, but now I got glass cup, extra saucer and water and orange juice with a straw I didn't ask for. Sounds like I'm complaining a little. Sure, these are silly things. But it's an unnecessary change. It wasn't broke so why change it. Anyway, continuing.... I got my Eggs Benedict with my overly fried breakfast potatoes that looked like they were in the deep fryer. But the best was when I found the dark black hair in my food! That's not even the best part of it. Of course I stopped eating my food. It was the response to me telling the server that I didn't ask for the food with a side of hair. It wasn't even the manager that came out to apologize. It was some kitchen manager lackey who said he'd take off my breakfast from the bill. Ok, great! That's expected but there was nothing more from the server. Safe to say I won't be come returning and my family all agreed this place went down hill. read more

Came in on Friday night to enjoy a date night with the husband. We got the Prime Rib special they run every Friday. The flavor of the aju sauce was absolutely mouth watering. The service was outstanding very tentative. The Manager Lisa was very involved with every table which I personally as someone who use to be in the industry always stands out to me. Will definitely be coming back for the Prime Rib 3 days later and I'm still thinking about it!!! read more

Brought my Mother here for brunch on Mother's Day. The reservation process was easy and even though we were a few minutes late they made sure to accommodate us without any issues. I brought my son as well, so we were sat at a table with enough space for the stroller while still having room to be comfortable and relax. The view of golf course is beautiful. The menu was buffet style, our waitress handled drink orders and directed us as to how to make an omelette request which she brought out as well. We ordered bottomless mimosas, couldn't taste much champagne though. The food was good, the wait staff did a phenomenal job of making sure all the buffet trays remained full and the selection was very diverse. We really enjoyed our experience. read more

Had a party of maybe 25 people. Nice place but not entirely prepared for todays restaraunt clientele. They have no vegan menu so 2 did not eat. Original waiter clearly unprepared for this group. He was replaced with 2 others that clearly had more experience. How can tou have a Mushroom omelette with no mushrooms? Guess the chef forgot to order some of the veggies this sunday. Food came out haphazardly. Most had already finished before the last 3 or 4 got their food. Food was not served hot enough. Not sure why. I've never worked in food service so I am sure they had to pf had some challenges today. I just know as a diner that has eaten out an awful lot what the experience should be like. Food and service is always excellent. This is also our favorite public golf course in Palm Beach County.

Disappointing....we've been going here for a while now, and never really had huge expectations. Just a decent place nearby to grab a bite. The big heads up was seeing this place slow on a Friday. Maybe the loud drunk at the bar dropping F bombs left and right to his friend set the mood and chased people out...or the woman who's young daughter ran endlessly back and forth by our table with some kind of shaker/noisemaker in her hand made us less patient than normal, but we don't come there for ambiance. The bigger issue...over 20 minutes to get our drinks? Even longer for an app (that we asked about at least once) and one dinner (Albeit a salad but with protein) came out with the apps...we sent that back... but the lettuce on the salad had definitely seen better days tho. I got tired of telling our server how to serve and just took the toppings home. Hope this place made money on the party upstairs...as they definitely lost it on those of us downstairs.... read more
