Eight of us enjoyed a late lunch today at Pelican Grill. Service was excellent. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Everyone food was very good. I had the Apricot glazed chicken with pecans puréed sweet potatoes and fresh veggies. Several had the Strawberry Pecan salad and tasted my husbands and it was excellent. Will likely get it next time. if i could leave no stars i would. we came to this establishment to try something new and it's suppose to be an upper class restaurant well it wasn't. first we waited an hour and 20 minutes to get our food. the girl that brought our food out had a Hooters shirt on with her bra showing(trashy looking). she had the worst attitude. i ordered grits they threw 2 baked potatoes on my plate without informing me they were out of grits. i told the girl that i didn't order 2 baked potatoes and she said well they are out of grits -----rude!!!! The owners wife came out and ask what did I want so i picked the Mac and cheese by the time that was brought out i had finished my meal! we talked to the owner and HE DIDNT CARE LITERALLY!!! the table behind us they did the same to them. Food and service were good. There was overhead music, but there was a TV also loud. When asked the waitress to reduce one of the 2 noise sources, she simply said it wasn't within her control. Worst restaurant EVER!!! Terrible service... waited 2 hours and NEVER got our food. Staff was HIGHLY unprepared for a busy Memorial Day weekend and it was very obvious. The waiters and waitresses were not attentive and did not check on any of the guest. There were several parties that did not get their food and many complained about checks being wrong and food missing. Food that came out was cold and we witnessed a chef leave from outside and return to the kitchen without washing his hands. Staff seemed to be tired and unprofessional... walking around dropping things and forgetting simple request. Do not recommend! read more

Absolutely one of the best places I have eaten at in Alabama!!! Was greeted & sat Immediately. Our server was soo attentive and very helpful with the menu & recommendations!! Ended up getting a banana cocktail that was to die for!!! The bourbon filet was the best I've ever had!!!! EVER!!! So tender I didn't even need a knife to cut it with!! The best part is the Chef that cooked it (I believe his name was Chef Dee) came out so we could meet him!!! Definitely made our night!!! If u haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out!!! Amazing! Oysters we excellent. We ordered two helpings grouper was out of this world. I had the bourbon filet as I had seafood all week. Cooked perfect and flavor was excellent. There was a written sign at the door that said Happy hour from 3-5 and advertised $4 beers (3.50 on internet) and 4 dollars off appetizers. We got there at 3:40 and were rudely told we are not open. Finally at 3:55, we were let in. We ordered based on the signage at the door. We asked no questions, just assumed the written board was accurate. When we got our bill, we were charged full price for domestic beers and didn't get $4 off appetizer, there was an up charge for small salad as side which was lettuce tomatoes and cucumbers, no croutons, no crackers, no bread, there was up charge for loaded baked potato, and then an additional crazy fee I can't remember the term for it, I had never heard of, in addition to regular tax. Our crab claw appetizer was $36, our 2 $34 dinners plus 1 appetizer and 2 total beers cost $136 before tip. We left out of there paying $161 for 2 people, and feeling totally ripped off. The waitresses had their fast food on a table and kept swinging by to eat a big bite and then come to the table talking with mouth full to see if we needed anything. We won't be back. read more

We wanted to try somewhere new tonight for supper and this was not the right choice. We waited 1 hour + 20 minutes for our food. They ran out of multiples side dishes and didn't ask what we wanted to replace the side with...instead they just put something random on the plate. My daughter's fries were not cooked all the way through. The worst part is the kitchen worker who brought the food out. She was wearing a hooters shirt with the sleeves cut out and had a terrible attitude. She threw the food on the table and when we asked where the correct food was the responded with "i don't know, im not the server so i don't know" as she's shrugging her shoulders. The table next to us also had a bad experience with her attitude. Multiple other tables got up and left before getting good bc they waited so long. My step mom's food was cold. We had to ask the waiter multiple time for butter, sour cream, ketchup, and hollandaise sauce. The owners did not care AT ALL when these issues were brought to their attention. All they did was defend the staff saying it's understaffed, etc. With it being Memorial Day Weekend they should be more prepared. And honestly it wasn't even crowded in there so being understaffed isn't an excuse. If I could give zero stars, I would. Will not be back. read more

My Husband and I went to eat at Pelican Grill at SanRoc Cay in Orange Beach. It is a new restaurant that just opened. We went to Happy Hour. Monday-Friday 3:00-5:00. We also had their Fried Green Tomatoes, which were great. They had Grouper Bites, I will try next time. Their Menu looked wonderful. I would like to come back and have Dinner. Service was great. I wanted to like this place. Understaffed, slow service, mediocre food. Not much to like about it. A manager and waitress recommend it to Google inquiries. Specifically, I had the grouper with risotto and brussel sprouts. The sprouts were burnt and covered in some kind of bottled sauce. Not good. The grouper was okay. The risotto was lukewarm and had been cooked long before I ate it. For $5 more you can can go to a much nicer restaurant. Too many other places in the area have much better food. read more

Our waitress was awesome, if you read this and don't ask for her when you go then you are an idiot. First of all, we sat outside 10 stars out of 5! Waitress 10 stars out of 5. Lauren made recommendations and she was on point. My wife and I shared oysters Rockefeller, wait!!!!! It was the best we have ever had!!!! We shared a main course, the filet with fried green tomato, lump crab meat and hollandaise sauce on top. You could cut the steak with fork and so much flavor. A side salad and mixed vegetables. We split a meal so we could get the bananas foster that she recommended. All the tables around us got it and Lauren lights it up at your table!!!!! The manager came by our at least 3 times to make sure everything was not good but great. He was very attentive and extremely polite and friendly. Atmosphere gets a 10, waitress gets a 10, service gets a 10, food gets a 20!!!!!! All out of 5 stars. I wish I would have taken pictures because plating was awesome. I can't rave about this place enough. This post could never give this place the justice it deserves. I wish we lived closer, I would take my beautiful wife here every weekend. The menu is awesome!!!
