This meal was an absolute feast. Before we even ordered, our server brought out waters and a bowl of cabbage salad for the table. It's a small gesture, but it immediately made us feel welcomed. We decided to go with one of the combo meals, which came with boneless crispy fried chicken, cheese tteokbokki, and fried potstickers. We also added an order of corn cheese because... how could we not? The chicken lived up to the hype. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and coated in a sauce that had me licking my fingers without shame. The cheese tteokbokki was exactly what I was hoping for. Chewy rice cakes swimming in a rich, spicy, cheesy sauce that kept me coming back for another bite. The corn cheese deserves its own paragraph because wow... I understand why Korean restaurants serve this. Sweet corn covered in gooey melted cheese is one of those dishes that sounds simple but somehow disappears before you realize it. The fried potstickers rounded everything out nicely and added another crispy bite to the meal. And because apparently we hadn't eaten enough, we finished with Dippin' Dots for dessert. It was such a fun way to end the meal and brought back a little childhood nostalgia. Overall, the portions were generous, the food came out hot, and the whole spread looked as good as it tasted. This was our first time trying Pelicana Chicken, and we were really impressed. We ordered the garlic and soy chicken wings, and both were packed with flavor. The garlic has a little kick to it, while the soy ended up being my favorite. The sauce was savory, slightly sweet, and somehow the wings stayed incredibly crispy even after being coated. Next time I'd love to try the honey soy, and eventually work my way through all of the different flavors. The wings themselves are nice and meaty, so you definitely get your money's worth. We also ordered both the deep-fried gizzard and the stir-fried gizzard. They're completely different dishes, but both were excellent. The stir-fried version comes with jalapeños, garlic, and onions, and it was absolutely delicious. Be warned though--the jalapeños bring some serious heat. If you like spicy food, it's so worth ordering. The deep-fried gizzard was just as good. It comes with a smoky, spicy dipping sauce, but honestly it doesn't even need it because it's flavorful all on its own. My only small complaint is the portion size of the gizzards. They're huge. One order of the deep-fried gizzard is around $24 and could easily be shared by four or five people as an appetizer. For just a couple, I wish they offered a smaller portion at a lower price. After trying the gizzards, I have a feeling the original crispy wings would be delicious even without sauce. That said, the sauces we tried were so flavorful that I'd probably keep ordering them. The soy in particular was outstanding, and I loved that the wings stayed extra crispy from the first bite to the last. We'll definitely be back to try more flavors. read more

The interior of the restaurant is spacious and clean, and I was greeted by a worker who told me to sit anywhere and I could order using the touch-screen device on the table. I ordered off of the lunch menu and got the wrap with smoky hot sauce and the white garlic cupbop. It did take almost 30 minutes to get my food upon placing the order which seemed lengthy, especially considering I was the only customer. We went to The Source to look for K-Pop merchandise and decided to have lunch while there. I appreciate that The Source always has plentiful and free parking in their parking garage. There was no wait when we entered Pelicana for lunch on a Saturday, and you can order directly from the tablet on the table. Service was friendly with water refills offered. Water and cabbage salad are brought to the table upon entering. The cabbage was good though the sauce very mayonnaise heavy for me. We ordered a half order of crispy chicken in garlic sauce, a pasta dish, kimchi udon, and sweet potato fries to share. While I liked that the garlic sauce was super garlicky, it was a bit too sweet for me. The pasta sauce was also on the sweeter side. It also took a while for the food to come out, but that is usually the case for Korean fried chicken as it takes time to double fry the chicken. The chicken was indeed super crispy and delicious. Sweet potato fries were yummy and the kimchi udon spicy but tasty. The interior was large, spacious, and bright. Prices were fair and portions good. Its really a no brainer: Pelicana is hands down the BEST korean fried chicken in SoCal. Not only is the QUALITY of these wings extremely superb, the flavor and taste and overall meal is absolutely worth the trip. Since they closed the City of Industry location, I come to the Buena Park one quite often w my co-workers, and its an sbsolute treat. We always see the same waiter who is the nicest person, always receives us with a smile and usually gives us the best seats. I like this location but I feel its not big enough sometimes. It is great and organized and fast. The food is warm and well done. Their combo sets are also great for sharing. We ordered the couples combo and added some extra items for our kids. It ended up being the perfect amount of food for everyone with leftovers for home. Will absolutely be back. I will say though that while we loved their signature sauce, their soy sauce was just salt-overload. We hardly touched it, and even our kids couldn't stand how salty it was. We tried the rose tteokbokki this time, and it was a total hit. The truffle fries were okay this round, the truffle flavor was on the lighter side but once we dipped them into the rose tteokbokki sauce, it was pure heaven. Pair it all with an ice-cold beer, and you've got the perfect way to kick off the weekend. We were seated outside, and our server checked on us regularly. He was kind, quick, and always serving with a smile. The kind of attentive service that makes dining out such a pleasant experience. Even the manager (assumed the manager, he was dressed in slacks and a white dress shirt) stopped by our table to make sure everything was great, which we truly appreciated. Please note that this is a super old review back from when I came here during the Honkai: Star Rail fan kick off event and it was not...well handled. I'm going to be fairly objective and give them a lot of leeway because I understand they'd never done a collaboration like this before and probably never dealt with a crowd this large. My friends and I arrived around 10am, and there was already like 100 people in front of us. And surprisingly the line was already moving, slowly but it was moving which I appreciated. Seemed they opened up earlier to prep as they knew more people would be coming as the collab event started one day before. Unfortunately, when I made my order they didn't allow me to choose any sauce toppings for my chicken. Probably because they were slammed with orders...But it still sucked not getting to even have the choice? Like I would've appreciated even the option to have some on the side so they don't have to wait man power mixing the chicken and sauce, but nope. Just no sauce. And I paid for the combo collaboration meal set which was $50+, so not cheap. I actually think the chicken wings were really delicious even without the sauce, lightly spicy and flavorful and juicy with a crunchy outside. The chicken drumsticks were kind of atrocious though. It was tough and mostly breading, an experience shared between all the meals my friends that attended the event with me had. We also all agreed the fries were just...bad. They were so sad and tasteless and while not floppy weren't crispy either. I've seen the fries in photos and other locations which look really, really good. Most of our friend group didn't like the mochi cheese balls either. They were just overly sweet and chewy, not crispy at all. I don't know if that's what they're supposed to be like, but...my husband and I just ended up not eating these. Overall, this was really expensive for what we got. Wasn't worth it for over half the food to be subpar. I understand it's due to the amount of orders they had, so I just hope that if they ever participate in other collaborations they somehow come up with a ticketing system for each day so they can maintain some level of food quality especially since we're paying premium prices as customers. read more

Ddukbokki was soft and chewy. Corn cheese: Very gooey and melted with mozzarella. Standard corn cheese plate. Truffle Fries: Fried with truffle oil, there's no shaved truffle on top of the fries. I also asked them to confirm how long we had actually been there. We were told we had only been there for about 1.5 hours, and that we were welcome to finish up -- so it wasn't the two hours we had been told. After we had already paid and were packing up our food, Joanne came back to "apologize." She began with an apology but then stated that the policy was actually 90 minutes, not two hours. I explained that we had no issue complying -- we just hadn't been informed correctly. Unfortunately, the conversation felt less like an apology and more like we were being blamed for breaking a policy that had been communicated inaccurately. She continued to interrupt and talk over us, which made the situation more uncomfortable. Overall, the food and Alex's service were excellent. By 12:54pm they were sold out of steamed rice. You put in your order via iPad at the table. If you need the server you can click Call Staff on the iPad. There's a mini trash bin on the table for your trash and chicken bones. Highly recommend the cheese ddeokbokki and soy chicken wings. I will not make the mistake of getting signature next time.
