I heard Yupdduk is famous for its tteokbokki... But today, we couldn't handle the spice So we went for bibimbap instead -- a very satisfying carb fix We also had bulgogi stew, super gentle on the stomach and perfect with rice The sweet-savory soup paired really well with everything And grilled squid with rice. A full meal without the heat IG: socalhkfoodies

Was initially going to goto another tteokbokki spot in my area, but it did not open until 4pm, so we decided to make a drive out to Buena Park to the OG yupdduk. I remember it being really flavorful, chewy and delicious so I told my friend it would be worth it. This was his first time trying tteokbokki, so I was looking forward to this meal. The restaurant is in a small plaza with plenty of parking. It was empty at 230pm on a Friday, so we got seated right away. You order through a tablet at the table (am I old for hating this method? Lol) it took 10 minutes for us to decide what we wanted. We ordered regular yupdduk and tuna mayo rice. The tuna mayo rice came out so fast compared to the tteokbokki so we mixed the rice and waited for the main dish to come out. When the tteokbokki came out it looked so good, but the flavors were definitely not what I remembered it to be. It was spicy, but bland. Both the rice cake and fish cakes were bland. Not sure what happened to yupdduk... The service was also very weird. After we got seated, the server left us with lukewarm water (on a 90 degree day eating spicy tteokbokki) and the music that was playing suddenly turned off. She literally disappeared, so we had to look around to get more napkins since there was none at the table. It felt like they wanted to rush us out. Once we saw someone else coming out of the kitchen, we asked for some ice. He gave us ice AND cold water that they kept in the fridge behind the counter. So odd that they have cold water available already, but we were given lukewarm water lol. This plaza is in a weird location to begin with, so I don't think I would come back.

Food was good we ordered two Tteok-bokki extra mild and mild. It was very good in regards to flavor. According to the staff original is like buldak level in regards to spice. Service was very very good. Ambiance is nice and enough seating indoors and this place is nice cause there's a little parking area in the plaza. Will def be back to try all the other things on the menu

Tried this concoction for the first time. I didn't really know what to expect, but it consisted of noodles, rice cakes, cheese, and sausage. The sauce was ridiculously spicy, the rice cakes were just too much to be constantly be chewing, and they added a lot of them. The best part of the meal was the noodles and sausage honestly. I don't know how this idea came out about but it's nothing I would come back and try again. Yup Dduk: 5.8

I don't do the best of the best with Korean spice, but seeing this place had extra mild as an option was slightly reassuring. My friends and I split a few items: Seaweed Rice Balls, Yup Dduk, and Yup Oh all in extra mild. The spice was still hitting when I ate the rice cakes, but thankfully had the rice balls to mitigate the spice. I loved the rice balls and almost wish we had some protein with it to turn it into onigiri too! The rice cakes were chewy and had enough of everything in it to make it filling. The sausage was crunchy, and the fish cakes were delicious. When we hit $30, we were given a free Cheese Corndog! Since we hit $60, we got two. When we hit $50, we were given 10% off! I believe that's the current promotion until the 31st of this month.

The challenge spice level at Yupdduk absolutely lives up to its name. The heat hits fast and stays with you, but the flavor underneath is solid. The rice cakes were chewy and cooked well, and the mix of fish cakes, noodles, and veggies made the dish feel hearty. I enjoyed the overall taste, though the spice level was intense enough that it was hard to appreciate all the ingredients by the end. Service was efficient and straightforward. The staff gave a clear warning about how spicy the challenge level is and offered suggestions for add-ons that might help balance the heat. Food came out quickly and piping hot. The ambience is lively with loud music, bright lighting, and a casual setup. It fits the style of the restaurant and works well for groups looking for something fun and different. The space is clean and the atmosphere energetic, though it can get noisy. A flavorful dish with a serious kick, solid service, and a high-energy environment. I would return, but probably at a more manageable spice level next time.

Congrats to Yupdduk on their newest location in OC! They had their grand opening a couple months ago, so I was excited to try this location. Parking: Free parking lot. There's a small plaza, but finding a spot can be easy. Ambiance/Environment: It's a very casual spot. They have a large space with a decent amount of indoor seating. No outdoor seating. It wasn't busy, but it was consistent. They were busier closer to dinner time. Service: We were greeted right when we entered. The server seated us at an open table. You'd view the menu and order via the tablet. If you prefer a physically menu, simply ask. Food: 1) Omelette Rice - This was PACKED with rice! It was seasoned well and served with lettuce. 2) Yup Ki Chicken Stew - Since I've had their Yupdduk before, I wanted to try something different. This contained chicken, glass noodle, rice cakes, potatoes, carrots, green onions, red pepper flakes, & corn syrup. The chicken stew was absolutely flavorful and not too heavy. There was a generous amount of chicken wings & drums! I ordered this mild, and ooof they do not mess with their spice levels. 3) Parmesan Squid Steak - The squid was sliced into pieces and sat on a bed of cabbage. The squid was cooked well, though the larger pieces can be a bit chewy. I have no idea what's in the sauce, but it was so good! It could use more parmesan since it's in the name. 4) Seaweed Fries - Surprisingly these aren't potatoes wrapped and fried in seaweed lol. It's rolled rice, wrapped in seaweed, and fried till crispy golden. They were definitely crunchy. Simple appetizer to start off with. Pricing: Majority of their dishes are shareable between 2-3 people! Definitely worth it!

Really good experience ! Food was delicious. I've been to similar places and this one is by far the best! The waiter was very helpful with selecting what I would like best from the menu. Great, clean environment! I will definitely be back.

Yup Yuuup! This Duck knows what's up and I can't get enough of their stuff and that ain't no bluff. Delicious Korean eats around this part of town? Ok Let's Go! So we got the popular food items that were recommended and they were on point! First up was the Yup DDUK that came with rice cake, fish cake, sausage and cheese and oh man was this on the Delish tip! Next up we had the Yup Ki chicken stew that came with glass noodles, rice cakes and potato and this was so comforting. Both bowls were banging! Besides the bomb A$$ bowls we had a side of Kimbap, pork cutlet and the omelette which were delicious starters. The service was super friendly and they kept checking on us. On the real, they were probably checking on my two Korean foodies since the real test was through them,LoL! But it passed with all of us and that's what's up! And that's my take on it, Peace out...

To-go order was packaged neatly with all its fixing. Liked how there was plentiful of fish cake in the order and can't go with a side of their seaweed rice balls & fried seaweed roll. Medium spicy is the perfect middle ground when eating with a group.

Review 17/365 Challenge Came here on Saturday night for date night/Valentine celebration w my hubby. I'm really a simple gal and I love Korean food. was originally gonna head to King Chang but was during rush hour/dinner time. Called to see the wait and was informed the wait time. We didn't want to deal with the wait. Than YELPED Gopchang. Got to the plaza and I realized Yupdduk was in same strip of businesses. recall one of my friends coming here before along with seeing this restaurant on my Facebook feed. I love tteokbokki & spice!!! Makes everything nice along saw they have spicy chicken feet! My fav too... Boy it definitely wasn't a disappointment. So glad i decided to give this place a try. It just opened too last month 2.15.25 We were greeted by the manager Don when we walked in and was seated right away. You order from the tablet that's on each table. Really easy to order. What we ordered ~ Chicken Feet in Mild was pretty spicy. I recall eating something like this in Korea and it was as good here, meat is soft & tender. Recommended. ~ # 2 Rose YupDduk in mild was perfect. Not too spicy. My husband can't eat too spicy, so it was perfect for him. It is really good and the bowl was huge! Can be shared among 2-3 person. Love the cheese on it. Another item you must get here. ~ omelette Rice was good. Just wished it was a bit on the spicy side. Love the cabbage salad it comes with. The dressing was good and creamy. ~ udon is like any other udon. Simple but hit the spot especially on cold days. ~ Ham kimbap was yummy. A great appetizer to enjoy to help with all the spice we had from other dishes. Service was awesome by 2 servers. A boy and a girl. Didn't quite get their name. Restaurant was busy and kept getting foot traffic. It was fully filled. I want to return and try the chicken gizzard, chicken wings were sold out. So didn't get to try that. Simple restaurant with tables & booths. Even a bar height tables and located in same plaza as Van Dyke coffee shop. I use to visit here frequently when i use to live in Fullerton. Along w being a few doors down from Gopchang & Koko chicken Restuarant. Parking was available but can easily get jam packed during dinner hours.

I love going to Yupdduk in diamond bar so I have to show my support at their new location in Buena Park. The menu is the same. They're known for the spicy tteokbokki and of course everything else. We ordered a lot of different dishes. Spicy Tteokbokki, rose tteokbokki, spicy daktoritang, kimbaps, soy sauce chicken wings, egg omelette fried rice, and the tuna rice bowl. I was so excited to dig into everything. The egg omelette spam fried rice was a new dish that I haven't had but it was amazing. Something about spam, eggs and ketchup that just makes so much sense. Soy Sauce chicken wings are 10/10. Rose Tteokbokki is another great dish. is it on the mild spicy side. which is perfect for me. I love dipping my tuna kimbaps with the rose sauce. The restaurant always have a clean vibe, table are spacious to sit. Great for large party as well. Service was great as always.

Big portion sizes and yummy Korean food with good service!! A must try for tteobokki! Easy ordering at your table and relatively decent parking. Tip: get one of their sets (3 to choose from) and customize to add more toppings. What I tried * B set - Yupdduk + 2 eggs + veggie fries (pumpkin and sweet potato) + seaweed rice balls - added fried tofu for extra $$. got the extra mild and it wasn't too spicy but there's a very subtle kick. Definitely enough for 3-4 people and add other sides to chase the spice. I really liked the fried pumpkin dipped in the yup dukk tteobokki sauce. * Tuna Kimbap - a good chaser if you have a low spice tolerance with fresh veggies * Chicken gizzards - comes with side seaweed rice balls. Well marinated. They have milk drinks available if you can't handle the spice and a very high level spicy challenge good for those who can handle the heat. I was surprised they have a secret menu with other dishes like katsu, ramen, udon, chicken wings.

Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Soup) - The amount of ingredients they give you is amazing. I've had it both dining in and as takeout, and it's consistently delicious every single time. The interior is clean, newly built, and has a modern Korean hanok-style look. The servers were also friendly both times, so I didn't have any issues with the service or atmosphere. Unfortunately, the main problem for me was the food. I've eaten at the LA location before and never really thought the food tasted bad there, but at this Buena Park location, both visits gave me the impression that the food didn't taste as fresh as it should. On my most recent visit, I ordered the soondae gukbap, and the soondae had an unpleasant off smell and didn't taste very fresh. It almost tasted like it had been sitting for a while. On my first visit, I tried the regular pork gukbap, and the pork flavor was also stronger than I personally prefer. I do tend to like cleaner-tasting gukbap, but this stood out to me because I don't remember having the same issue at the LA location. After the first visit, I thought maybe it was just an off day since the restaurant was still new. But after having a similar impression on my second visit, I'm not sure if this location is consistent yet. The space is nice and the service was good, but for a gukbap restaurant, the food has to be the main reason to come back. Based on my two visits, this location was disappointing for me.

The bill was a little more than other places, but well worth it.

I think AB steak is the best Korean bbq restaurant in LA. It's not my favorite just the best. They…read morenail everything in terms of quality and service. But since I moved out of LA, it's so inconvenient to get to. Enter Kyung Bok Kung -- what a find. I can get a fine dining korean bbq experience conveniently. I've been here a number of times, and this review reflects the few times I've been there. It's become the goto spot to take people from out of town who are visiting and want a Kbbq experience. Things I immediately noticed - lots of white and grey teslas in the parking lot during lunch - you know what that means? Golf Koreans. Yup. Go inside and you'll see incredibly well dressed older retired people with their buddies chatting up in private cubicles. Beautiful decor. It's like the background setting of a korean drama where there's a close-up of the guy and the girl - they're about to say something really serious to each other. The camera does a wide angle shot of them - and this is the restaurant it's shot in. Price points - this place isn't cheap, but they have incredibly good deals on a weekday lunch (cold noodles and meat set). Their dinner set course meals are priced around what you would expect from a quality steak house. This place is not as pricey as AB steak or Cote, but you're getting just as quality. Food - I've had the lunch set meals, the bbq grilled course, and ordered à la carte. One thing is for sure - they don't miss. I never had a 9 budda plate until I came here, but apparently it's like a thing that royals ate during the monarchy days. It was like a korean vegetarian taco. Very intricate (and slightly annoying) to put together but delicious - and a great test of your chopstick skills. Their braised beef (galbijjim) from their lunch set intersects savory, sweet, and tenderness in a way that only Korean grandmas do. I'm not a huge fan of Wagyu beef (just too rich and can never feel after eating it), but I have never felt that way coming out of here. Go here at night if you want to impress someone or celebrate something. Go here during lunch if you want a fantastic meal and want to see what the best korean food can taste like but don't want to break the bank.
