Placed an order ahead of time with 30+ minutes extra time for Mother's Day dinner. The order was not ready upon arrival. In fact, they never even knew the order was placed and attempted to tell me not to show up so quickly after placing an online order. No apologies, not rectifying situations, nothing. So I had to call my mom to let her know what the delay was about. It took another 30 minutes for me to return with food. The soup was spilled everywhere in the bag. The order was incorrect, too. The fried chicken was ok. Mostly bones and batters. Very sweet seasoning. The dumplings were ok. Was it worth the $100 something hassle? Absolutely not. The service in general here could make some improvements. Perhaps better communications or checking for online orders frequently. Maybe have more sense of urgency. Something. Looking for something hearty and satisfying but still light for a late afternoon. This spot popped up in the Yelp recommendations, and am glad for it! Casual dining, manned by one lady out front and just one other person doing prep work with the biggest blades I've ever seen for slicing and dicing! I had a toddler in my care today and she loves rice plus dumplings! Banchan of house made kimchi and sliced radish plus jalapeño were delicious. I got her the dumpling soup (non spicy broth with at least a dozen of the small dumplings that had fillings of beef and scallions. Broth was flavorful, everything topped with shredded seaweed and a gently cooked scrambled egg floating in it. The giant steamed meat buns have a pillowy dough, finely minced and mixed meat with scallions and clear noodles. This is the closest thing I've had to Filipino style siopao. (I prefer this filling to the sweetened pork charshui served by most Dimsum places). I also got a half order of original chicken ( mixed pieces had wing, drummete and breast pieces. Very crunchy outer layer with tender juicy chicken. I asked for the soy garlic glaze separately, it was delicious dipping sauce! Non spicy but sweet and salty balance. When I parked though. I was told by the server inside there is a 15 minute limit unless Dining at the restaurant. Quiet inside. High chairs available, no changing tables in the all gender bathroom. It's a bit out of my way but not terribly so. Frozen Dumplings and steamed buns available to purchase for home cooking. Brisk takeout business, we were the only customers this afternoon. We stopped by when we wanted a quick but healthy meal to go on a rainy day with toddlers in the car. This HIT the spot. Dumplings here are behemoths. They are generous with their filling. They are not only huge but flavorful and delicious. There's a good balance of ingredients. We ordered #1, 6, and 9. The baos (1 and 6) are ginormous and filling. They remind me of what my grandparents in Hong Kong would eat for breakfasts daily. The filling is warmly tucked into the fluffy steamed bread. #9 was your typical thin skinned dumpling, and they were my favorite of what we ordered since I wanted less bread. Like it's bao counterpart, this was generally stuffed. We demolished all of #9 and shared one bao. We brought back 7 buns for family and everything was consumed in one meal. A ?hidden gem in an older strip mall near Arby's and The Source. This mom and pop restaurant has maybe 9 4-seater tables, clean ambience. I am amazed at how efficient they were with only 1 or 2 wait staff/?owners. I LOVED all the food, especially the beef dumpling soup 5/5 with a homey mild flavor. My friend enjoyed adding in some kimchi. The king dumplings were impressive: the size of your fist and perfectly steamed manapua/ chinesish bao style. The flavor was also mild even with the kimchi inside; loved the texture the most. Fried chicken was pretty good, and I appreciated a fellow yelper's tip to order sauces on the side for a less-messy and more-controlled experience. Even the minimal side dishes were amazing (sorry I don't know the names): shredded cabbage with kewpie, kimchi, and my fav: pickled/ soy radish with jalapeño. The dumplings at this restaurant were so delicious that I thought the other food would be of a high standard as well, but it wasn't that... I think the way to maintain your reputation is to boldly stop selling other foods and focus more on dumplings. Whenever I crave yang-yam chicken or marinated Korean chicken to go this is the spot. Double fried Korean chicken half with yang-yam half original. Let me tell you their huge steamed buns is the best. I think they hand make it and it's filled with red bean or dumpling fillings. I prefer the red beans ones. It's triple the size of a regular steamed bun. That's my usual combination but they also have other quick service Korean food items. read more

We found this one by chance. We've eaten at the Northridge location several times and it's always amazing, this location is no exception! Everything is handmade, and fresh. The staff is so welcoming, kind and friendly. The restaurant is small but it's well lit and the booths are comfy. I haven't had a bad meal here you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They also sell their dumplings frozen so you can take them home and cook at your leisure. We will definitely be back to this location. All the mandu (Korean for dumplings) are always famously freshly made to order at MyungIn Dumplings. There is also a good variety of dumpling choices and the way it is prepared: steamed, pan-fried, or in a soup. I like how generously they pack each dumpling shell with the fillings. If you order mandu with the traditional pork fillings, expect a lot of meat in there. I also like the rather thin shells (and not doughy) which somehow do not fall apart despite being stuffed with the fillings. I highly recommend any of the dishes I have tried, including steamed pork mandu, steamed kimchi mandu, Wang mandu (king-size dumplings), and Tteok mandu guk (rice cake and dumpling soup). The banchan (side dishes) are consistently good and the kimchi is delicious. It has been a while since I ate here and inexplicably did not review this place after I did. The original location in LA's Koreatown is popular for take-out orders. I get the same vibe here even though this Buena Park restaurant has a larger dining section. I noticed, upon my two or three visits here, most of the orders were to go. Apparently, the fried chicken has become a thing since my last visit and is considered very good here. read more

My go to spot for Korean dumplings is pao jao that's inside the food court at koreatown plaza. I've seen a a few myungin dumpling locations that I wanted to try it out and omg I'm so glad I did! I was afraid that it wasn't going to taste as good as pao jao so I only got one item. I got the Korean style kimchi steamed dumplings and it was.. SO GOOD!! I love the little spicy kick it had to them. I also loved that it had a lot of filling inside and it wasn't all just dumpling wrapper. I would definitely go back and try other items on their menu! TLDR: It's pretty good for a hole in a wall restaurant. You come here for the homemade comfort food and the general quiet in the area. A bit pricey for solo eaters but good in a group. Half Soy Garlic friend chicken: Chicken was made fresh and was crispy considering the soy garlic glaze. The sweetness doesn't overpower the chicken, and the garlic taste blends well. The chicken is a respectable size, so this can be split between 2-3 people. Pork and vegetable dumplings: It's homemade and it's good. You won't get strong flavors which isn't a bad thing. They feel light and a person could probably finish the whole plate, no problem. Service and miscellaneous items: Servers are okay. Nothing to complain about. You do get some Korean appetizers to start that are refillable, so that's a bonus. Taste wise. The appetizers are fine. Nothing to call home about. read more

Park and walk in. The restaurant was very quite when we walked in. The lady helping was prompt in taking orders and explaining our option when one of us is allergic to pork products. They have lots of meat dumplings that has pork in it and only option was the huge vegi dumpling that was very soft and fluffy and perfectly went well with the side of vinegar soy sauce. The dumplings at this place are so good! It has a mixture of Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean style dumplings. My personal favorites are the red bean buns and shrimp dumplings. The spicy shrimp dumplings are good too (medium spice level-cannot change spice levels). These dumplings are authentic to taste (traditional style). This means they will not be salty at all. Those who are used to salty foods might believe they are bland. All dumplings are made fresh when you order. They are steamed in the back and then brought to you on plates. For two people, we ordered two different dumplings (the spicy and shrimp) and then had the red bean buns for dessert. We had some leftovers (maybe 2 pieces of dumplings and 2 red bean buns). The red bean buns are sweet without being overly sweet and has a spongy outer layer. The outer layer is similar to bao. Overall, it's a very nice Korean owned dumpling restaurant. My only complaint is that I would prefer if the filling for both the baos and dumplings were more flavorful. Although this is pretty traditional that the filling is like this. Myung In Dumplings original location in LA's Koreatown was featured on an episode of Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown and now with multiple locations, we got to try this location in Buena Park, Ca. Food is on par with the LA location. The spicy beef soup is pretty good here, but most mostly people get their famous traditional Korean style dumplings and buns. All made to order and fresh. You can see them prep the dumplings in front. The soy-vinegar sauce and chili sauce are a must! The dumplings and buns are pretty good plain, but I find that it taste better with the sauces. Dumplings or on its own are borderline bland. Another must is the marinated "soy radish with jalapeños". Am not going to lie, that stuff is pungent- smelly, but if you can get past the smell, it's great stuff! It took me a while to warm up to it. Now I love it. The steam buns are fluffy and airy not dry. The dumplings skins are not too thick or thin. Most of the filling for the dumplings and buns are: pork, veggie, and shrimp mixture; or "kimchi", pork, and shrimp mix... not much vegetarian or other options if you don't eat pork. We did take-out and everything properly reheated nicely at home. Properly meaning try not to reheat dumplings and buns in a microwave. Must: king steamed dumplings These are not bao. The filling comes in either pork or kimchi. Although I absolutely love kimchi, in this type of mandu (dumplings) I prefer the pork. i just love the mild savory flavor. Surprisingly, their garlic soy fried chicken was really good but the gangjeong flavor was not what I expected. It had hoisin like flavor, more Chinese than Korean. By definition, gangjeong is a Korean marinade. The portion was good. The service was good considering there's only one server. Especially on a hot summer day, I need a cold drink. The water didn't have ice, just slightly cooler than the room temperature. When I asked for ice with my soda, she said they don't have ice. Like never.
