Looking for something hearty and satisfying but still light for a late afternoon. This spot popped up in the Yelp recommendations, and am glad for it! Casual dining, manned by one lady out front and just one other person doing prep work with the biggest blades I've ever seen for slicing and dicing! I had a toddler in my care today and she loves rice plus dumplings! Banchan of house made kimchi and sliced radish plus jalapeño were delicious. I got her the dumpling soup (non spicy broth with at least a dozen of the small dumplings that had fillings of beef and scallions. Broth was flavorful, everything topped with shredded seaweed and a gently cooked scrambled egg floating in it. The giant steamed meat buns have a pillowy dough, finely minced and mixed meat with scallions and clear noodles. This is the closest thing I've had to Filipino style siopao. (I prefer this filling to the sweetened pork charshui served by most Dimsum places). I also got a half order of original chicken ( mixed pieces had wing, drummete and breast pieces. Very crunchy outer layer with tender juicy chicken. I asked for the soy garlic glaze separately, it was delicious dipping sauce! Non spicy but sweet and salty balance. When I parked though. I was told by the server inside there is a 15 minute limit unless Dining at the restaurant. Quiet inside. High chairs available, no changing tables in the all gender bathroom. It's a bit out of my way but not terribly so. Frozen Dumplings and steamed buns available to purchase for home cooking. Brisk takeout business, we were the only customers this afternoon. Shares a plaza with an Arby's , a nail salon and donuts. Apparently this place was once featured on an episode with Anthony Bourdain. Definitely validating.

Apparently this place is recommended by Anthony Bourdain. Myungln Dumplings is a casual and cozy Korean eatery in Buena Park. We stopped by when we wanted a quick but healthy meal to go on a rainy day with toddlers in the car. This HIT the spot. Dumplings here are behemoths. They are generous with their filling. They are not only huge but flavorful and delicious. There's a good balance of ingredients. We ordered #1, 6, and 9. The baos (1 and 6) are ginormous and filling. They remind me of what my grandparents in Hong Kong would eat for breakfasts daily. The filling is warmly tucked into the fluffy steamed bread. #9 was your typical thin skinned dumpling, and they were my favorite of what we ordered since I wanted less bread. Like it's bao counterpart, this was generally stuffed. We demolished all of #9 and shared one bao. We brought back 7 buns for family and everything was consumed in one meal. Would definitely come back.

A ?hidden gem in an older strip mall near Arby's and The Source. This mom and pop restaurant has maybe 9 4-seater tables, clean ambience. I am amazed at how efficient they were with only 1 or 2 wait staff/?owners. I LOVED all the food, especially the beef dumpling soup 5/5 with a homey mild flavor. My friend enjoyed adding in some kimchi. The king dumplings were impressive: the size of your fist and perfectly steamed manapua/ chinesish bao style. The flavor was also mild even with the kimchi inside; loved the texture the most. Fried chicken was pretty good, and I appreciated a fellow yelper's tip to order sauces on the side for a less-messy and more-controlled experience. Even the minimal side dishes were amazing (sorry I don't know the names): shredded cabbage with kewpie, kimchi, and my fav: pickled/ soy radish with jalapeño. Looking forward to coming back for more of everything!

Loved the Dumplings, they were my favorite, and the radish too. I wasn't too crazy about the friend shrimp. Highly recommend this place .

Our first time there was in December and we ordered a little bit of everything. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the fried chicken. Everything was delicious! We've been back a couple of times since then. Highly recommend it.

Shrimp tempura/fried rice/chicken/other foods were all so-so... The dumplings at this restaurant were so delicious that I thought the other food would be of a high standard as well, but it wasn't that... I think the way to maintain your reputation is to boldly stop selling other foods and focus more on dumplings. This is a common opinion of many people who went together about the taste, so it would be better if you definitely improve it or boldly discontinue it. The dumplings are the best in the OC area, except for the fried dumplings... I always want to come back just to eat the dumplings.

We found this one by chance. We've eaten at the Northridge location several times and it's always amazing, this location is no exception! Everything is handmade, and fresh. The staff is so welcoming, kind and friendly. The restaurant is small but it's well lit and the booths are comfy. I haven't had a bad meal here you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They also sell their dumplings frozen so you can take them home and cook at your leisure. We will definitely be back to this location. This one is located down the road from Knotts Berry farm and about a mile from Porto's bakery.

Complimentary mayo and shredded cabbage and what looked like sliced marinated daikon or turnip? King Dumplings are huge. They're about the whole size of your hand. 4 per order. You'll see big bags of wheat flour and ingredients they use on racks as you walk to the restroom in the back. They sell sugar free oat cookies. Their fried chicken is a must if you're craving for something crunchy and greasy. It tastes different and way better than your standard fried chicken. 7 pieces for half order $16.98. Very crispy, light and delicious. You have to eat it fresh. Won't taste the same the day after unless you throw it in the air fryer. #9 dumplings with pork and veggies were very good. You get 6 pieces for $14.49. Hand made. Oil see them making it by the glass window as you walk to the restroom. Only one lady serving and doing everything in the front. So it can get busy for her. Water comes in plastic jars into metal cups- Korean style. This place was visited by Anthony Bourdain. Low key tasty place.

Delicious food! Decent service and prices. Parking is plenty. Ambience is fine- nothing too special. Looks clean and it's not loud so we could have conversations. Would come again!

My go to spot for Korean dumplings is pao jao that's inside the food court at koreatown plaza. I've seen a a few myungin dumpling locations that I wanted to try it out and omg I'm so glad I did! I was afraid that it wasn't going to taste as good as pao jao so I only got one item. I got the Korean style kimchi steamed dumplings and it was.. SO GOOD!! I love the little spicy kick it had to them. I also loved that it had a lot of filling inside and it wasn't all just dumpling wrapper. I would definitely go back and try other items on their menu! I cannot wait!

Yooooo!!! YOU NEED TO TRY THE FRIED CHICKEN! This is probably my favorite fried chicken in all of SoCal. I will throw down with my hands and I don't usually eat with my hands! Something about the perfect batter, perfect crunch, makes the perfect bite! You wouldn't think the fried chicken would be the star here, but my friend, take my word for it! We tried different dumplings and all were good! Included were sides like pickled radish and kimchi which was super spicy! We tend to over order here and end up with leftovers. The leftovers hold up well too. The ladies here are nice and friendly, and efficient when bringing your orders to your table. The restaurant itself isn't too big small but can accommodate large parties if they put tables together. Lots of parties of 2-4 when we dined in. We've done carry out a few times too and the fried chicken stays crispy!

You need to add your own salt which is provided on the table. It's a simple and filling soup. The Galbi Tang is flavorful with lots of meat. You also add your own salt. This is one of my go to "sick dishes" as it's very comforting. Their Yuk Gae Jang is SO GOOD. It's definitely my favorite here. It's the perfect amount of spice. It's filled with meat, noodles, and veggies. The flavor of the broth itself is so yummy and when rice is added, one bowl can be stretched to three full meals. I had this dish last week and I actually can't stop thinking about it. Overall everything here has been delicious and the portions are very generous. The banchan includes 3 dishes: radish kimchi, kimchi, and mustard greens kimchi. All have fish sauce. Service 10/10 Servers are quick, efficient, and attentive. They brought extra bowls and without being asked, brought serving spoons and scissors to cut the noodles with. I have a fish/seafood allergy and I appreciate them taking it seriously and letting me know which foods they recommended I stay away from although they did not know for certain. I wish they knew which dishes had fish/seafood so I knew for sure what was allergy safe, but I understand that it's impossible to know the ingredients of every dish. Ambiance 8/10 I've been coming here since the pandemic days when they had outdoor seating and it's always very neat, clean, and pretty quiet as well. There is plenty of parking and lots of other dessert, drink, and food places nearby. Even though it's almost 90 degrees outside, I've been craving their Yuk Gae Jang and can't wait till my next visit!

The interior is clean, newly built, and has a modern Korean hanok-style look. The servers were also friendly both times, so I didn't have any issues with the service or atmosphere. Unfortunately, the main problem for me was the food. I've eaten at the LA location before and never really thought the food tasted bad there, but at this Buena Park location, both visits gave me the impression that the food didn't taste as fresh as it should. On my most recent visit, I ordered the soondae gukbap, and the soondae had an unpleasant off smell and didn't taste very fresh. It almost tasted like it had been sitting for a while. On my first visit, I tried the regular pork gukbap, and the pork flavor was also stronger than I personally prefer. I do tend to like cleaner-tasting gukbap, but this stood out to me because I don't remember having the same issue at the LA location. After the first visit, I thought maybe it was just an off day since the restaurant was still new. But after having a similar impression on my second visit, I'm not sure if this location is consistent yet. The space is nice and the service was good, but for a gukbap restaurant, the food has to be the main reason to come back. Based on my two visits, this location was disappointing for me.

But since I moved out of LA, it's so inconvenient to get to. Enter Kyung Bok Kung -- what a find. I can get a fine dining korean bbq experience conveniently. I've been here a number of times, and this review reflects the few times I've been there. It's become the goto spot to take people from out of town who are visiting and want a Kbbq experience. Things I immediately noticed - lots of white and grey teslas in the parking lot during lunch - you know what that means? Golf Koreans. Yup. Go inside and you'll see incredibly well dressed older retired people with their buddies chatting up in private cubicles. Beautiful decor. It's like the background setting of a korean drama where there's a close-up of the guy and the girl - they're about to say something really serious to each other. The camera does a wide angle shot of them - and this is the restaurant it's shot in. Price points - this place isn't cheap, but they have incredibly good deals on a weekday lunch (cold noodles and meat set). Their dinner set course meals are priced around what you would expect from a quality steak house. This place is not as pricey as AB steak or Cote, but you're getting just as quality. Food - I've had the lunch set meals, the bbq grilled course, and ordered à la carte. One thing is for sure - they don't miss. I never had a 9 budda plate until I came here, but apparently it's like a thing that royals ate during the monarchy days. It was like a korean vegetarian taco. Very intricate (and slightly annoying) to put together but delicious - and a great test of your chopstick skills. Their braised beef (galbijjim) from their lunch set intersects savory, sweet, and tenderness in a way that only Korean grandmas do. I'm not a huge fan of Wagyu beef (just too rich and can never feel after eating it), but I have never felt that way coming out of here. Go here at night if you want to impress someone or celebrate something. Go here during lunch if you want a fantastic meal and want to see what the best korean food can taste like but don't want to break the bank.
