I haven't been to Penn Station for a while, so I thought I'd try it tonight. Got the cheesesteak with fries and it did not disappoint. I'm a fan of Penn Station sandwiches and their fresh cut fries. Have visited this location many times over the past few years. Lunch hour can be very busy and even some evenings during the dinner hour rush. But the food quality has been consistent. My favorites include the hot club sandwich and the artichoke sandwich. One of the worst Penn Stations I have been to. It is always slow, never got a quick sub. I even called 25 minutes ahead for carryout, and when I arrived there were 4 customers in the whole place but my sub STILL wasn't ready. I don't think calling ahead even did anything as I still waited 10 minutes. No apology either, just poor service. Also, they don't use gloves. I saw them going from screen, to raw meet, to onions, to screen, etc. Most other locations use gloves, and I am not sure why this one doesn't. Once my food finally came, it at least tastes good. read more

Homemade lemonade tasting more and more like corn syrup minute maid to me each time I come, use to be REAL lemonade and good. Takes forever to get your food too. We arrived at 9:35 pm to get sandwiches on our way home from a movie. They do not close until 10 pm, yet the grill was off and the drawer was already out of the register. Great subs and fries. Love the teriyaki the best, but the Italian and chicken Parmesan are good also. Service is a tad slow but they cook the stuff to order which is nice. The cookies by the register are really good too. Gets busy. Definitely worth trying. read more

We haven't been to Penn Station in awhile, but we use to love it, I don't know if it's just this location, but the sandwiches use to be over flowing with meat, cheese and vegetables on their Italian, last night I had to open the sandwich just to see meat, there was very little of anything, there was one yellow pepper on the whole sandwich, the fries were under cooked, some of them were still cold in the middle and my dog wouldn't even eat them. Very disappointed, they changed the size and the quality of their sandwiches and it is not for the better. Won't be back to this location for sure! read more

I usually write long and very thoughtful reviews. This will be the exception. Stopped in for a quick lunch, but forgot my coupon from the book that comes in the mail. The customer before us used the same coupon, but the manager was rude and said we would have to have the coupon to get the deal. Great! Should have walked out then, but ordered anyway. The fries were great, the subs were just OK. They tasted good, but were more bread than meat and cheese. Liked the fact that they had malt vinegar for the fries. Overall bad experience, too expensive, and subs should have more stuff on them. Will not be returning any time soon. read more

Been to this location about 4 times, each being good food wise but not so much service wise. I joked before I walked into the door at 9pm "looks like I'm gonna get attitude for grabbing food an hour before they close" as past experiences have led me to feel like that here. Walking through the door first thing I see as a customer is a worker eating out of the food line cooler used for toppings. This person whose name starts with a C giggles because she was caught off guard. Irritated but not quite mad I continued making my order and was fine with waiting but I kept watching her. She never once washed her hands and repeatedly touched her phone and was on it behind the grill line. From touching her mouth to her mask to her phone to the fryer baskets and tools used for cutting sandwiches I was becoming more and more irritated. I never write reviews but as a franchise or business owner I'd want to know if I had an employee who didn't care about being there. I debated on writing anything but as someone who works in restaurants all around northeast Indiana and had multiple bad experiences just from one employee I thought it would be a fair review. This employee has rushed me out and been short in the past. Even hours before closing just for the hell of not wanting to be there. 2 stars were earned for food quality being good. Another worker which was a guy was cooking and took a lot more pride in his job then the other employee. read more

I hadn't been to Penn Station in a while but a Philly Cheesesteak sounded really good. I ordered their 8 inch signature standard along with a 6 inch Chicken Philly to go, both with the usual onions & peppers & mushrooms and some fresh cut fries on the side. When I got home to dig in, the bread nice & crispy but the first bite was over bearing with slimy onions. I looked inside the bread and discovered way more onion than the steak. I had to clear away most of the onions to choke it down & for more $7, it seemed like there was less meat than a Jr Arby's. The Chicken Philly was just as disappointing with a higher onion to chicken ratio, too. I wish I had eaten there because I definitely would have asked for my $$ back had I seen what they were serving while I was in the restaurant. I will not be going back there any time soon as there are many other more satisfying options here in town. read more

Disgusting. I came in in mid afternoon, and they were cleaning the fryer and the fryer vent. They wiped it down with cleaning chemicals that I could smell from the register, but being the only one there they didn't care. They rolled around the fryer while on, put the frys down, put them in the holding area then finished cleaning above the fryer, in that order. The supervisor was the one calling the shots, he yelled at the kid as to how to hold the spatula. I wont go back, teaching or learning moronic thought processes is not ok. I threw the -food away. These subs are amazing! They are always filled to the brim with toppings and cooked perfectly. The cookies are also delicious. I do believe that the subs are a little too expensive, but they will fill you up. The kitchen is clean, and the cashiers are always polite. I recommend the club. read more

We stopped at this location on New Years Day at 11:40am. The sign said they opened at 11am d/t holiday hours. We were standing outside, saw the employees inside. They ignored us. Very disappointed in this Penn Station. Obviously you need to reconsider your employees, they clearly don't want to work. read more

I dont care how good the food is if the service is terrible...had a ring-up error and asked for it to be corrected. The manager was rude, actually laughed, said he didnt have time to correct it, and walked away. The food was decent for a sub shop, just make sure they make it and ring it perfectly the first time, and dont expect any customer service. read more

Clean and well lit sub shop with a nice variety on the menu and average prices. As a first timer to Penn Station Subs, I ordered the founder's special and indicated I wanted it as described on the in-store signage but the young guy taking my order proceeded to double check with me on every single item and condiment that went onto my sandwich, even calling out my name across the dining room as I waited on my food...I guess this probably happens because a lot of people say "sure whatever" and then complain about something on the sandwich...but it was kind of strange. Anyway, no harm done and I loved the philly with extra this and that...it was a great sandwich and I'm not usually a huge fan of toasted subs but the bread here made theirs amazing. Overall it was a pleasant first time experience, ensuring I'll visit Penn Station East Coast subs again when I can, here or in other cities! If you don't know about this place then you need to go. And all you need to know is Philly cheese steak and fries. Have had cheese steaks in Philly and these are better (in my opinion). If someone gives this place a bad review its probably bc of service but certainly not for the food. Go check out the service you get at Pats or Gino's in Philly, then comment about service. I called in to place a call ahead order. I was told to hold while the phone was sat down and I could hear everything going on in the background in the kitchen. Manager complaining about his work and the employees calling off. I was on "hold" for 30 minutes. I of course didn't actually care about my sandwich at that point but how much of a joke the manager was. Out of frustration I got in my vehicle while on hold to go there and let them know I was still on hold. I walk in and I immediately recognize the manager he asks how we are doing, I reply "not doing great, got put on hold for over 30 minutes to be hung up on, I called back and was asked to be put on hold again, I said that I didn't care and was on my way". He said "man that's a bummer I had 2 people call off on me today". Like I don't care about how much you hate your job and unreliable coworkers. The fact that he didn't acknowledge that any of the situation was wrong and offer any sort of compensation was unbelievable. This isn't the first time I've had an issue with this manager. This will more than likely be my last experience at that penn station. read more
