Came to just pick my dad up some soup since he was sick (he said the soup was amazing, we got their special of the day it was chicken with orzo) and ended up grabbing a slice for myself since I was starving. I don't know what this slice is called but it turned out to be one of the best slices of pizza that I've had in awhile. Asked for it extra hot and so it was crispy on the bottom. Thick chewy dough (in a great way) and the crunch from the bottom, unreal. Sorry for the half eaten pizza pic, as I was scarfing it down I knew I had to leave a review for it

Well, while everyone held their breath and worried that the place wouldn't be the same, Meredith and her family continued the excellence. So go and enjoy the Pasta con Sarde and their Veal Marsala! Also, their Pizza is unbeatable.

One of the worst dining experiences we've had in a very long time…read more My family has been coming to this restaurant for 20 years since they opened and before this, to Anton's when they were just a small pizzeria in the King Kullen shopping center. We've celebrated holidays here, hosted parties here, and have always spoken highly of it--which made this experience even more disappointing. We took my mother out for Mother's Day shortly after my father passed away, hoping for a nice family meal. Instead, we were treated terribly from start to finish. We were seated late at a cramped table for three, despite having a reservation. Our server, J***, didn't check on us the entire evening. She didn't tell us the specials until we specifically asked, and then responded sarcastically with, "Oh, you want to hear the specials?" It took an hour just to receive appetizers, and no server initially came over to take our order until we spoke to the mother of the owners, who we didn't see at all. My husband and I would always talk to one of the brothers. We waited excessively for simple things like sweetener and iced tea. At one point, a young staff member told us there was no sweetener available at all. It honestly felt like our server may have been pulled from another role just to "help out," because the service was so disorganized. What made it worse was the complete lack of professionalism from the front staff. The two people seating guests looked miserable and unfriendly. It was apparent they were probably family, because they had no qualms about doing their jobs badly. When we raised concerns, one of the two unhappy women--who was extremely cold and dismissive--actually told us that she waits three hours when she goes out to eat, as though that somehow excused our experience. We also noticed staff talking about us, which was incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable. What was most frustrating was seeing groups of employees standing around while service was clearly falling apart. Being busy is understandable--(it was used as an excuse for everything going wrong), especially on Mother's Day--but after 20 years in business, a restaurant should know how to handle a busy night without everything unraveling. The food was disappointing as well--my veal was tough--and at no point did anyone apologize, offer any gesture of goodwill (not even a complimentary coffee), or acknowledge how poorly our evening had gone. Not even a simple "Happy Mother's Day" or goodbye as we left and we walked right by the cold, dismissive woman. The actual only highlight of our evening was when a wonderful server named Iverson came over to finish up with us, because clearly having to ask our server for sweetener three times forced her to have a possible meltdown? Unfortunately it was way too late, the damage had already been done. Now that's a charming individual, who is great with people! It certainly would have helped make a difference in our experience. This was especially heartbreaking because this restaurant has meant something to our family for years. Sadly, after this experience, we won't be returning. There are too many other restaurants that know how to treat loyal customers with respect.

The establishment has a narrow hallway for indoor dining in large booths. Past this are some smaller tables and a bar with high top seating. We enjoyed some cocktails as we waited before we were seated in their outdoor space with several tables that can accommodate large parties. The lighting was a bit dim but otherwise bustling and nice atmosphere. Service (5/5): They were incredibly busy but we felt like we were serviced quickly and our food came out fairly quick! Our waitress was super courteous and lovely! Food (5/5): Each dish had large portions that was perfect for our family style dining. The food was delicious OMG the table bread!! TO DIE FOR. We had a refill of them and we didn't want to spoil the rest of appetite... Calamari: cooked to perfection, nothing was chewy or hard to bite into. Light but flavorful breading. Port Pear salad: superb blend of textures and flavors from the variety in toppings. The vinaigrette was light but flavorful! Vegetable stuffed mushrooms: Hard to go wrong with mushrooms stuffed with chesse Pistachio pesto tortellini: This was the most flavorful of the 3 pasta dishes we ordered! Felt like the pesto flavors were done beautifully. Pappardelle Bolognese: Classic taste, overall solid Scarpariell: My least favorite but mostly bc the sauce wasn't for me. The meats were cooked wonderfully. The bed of risotto was fire. We were stuffed to the brim with all the food and were very happy with the whole experience!!

She had to come back a couple of times, as we decided what we were having. She was so cheerful and pleasant! I was THRILLED to discover that there's GF penne, and you can swap out roasted vegetables or risotto for pasta in the chicken dishes. There's also cauliflower crust PIZZA!! It's the usual 10" crust, but it was DELICIOUS!! I don't know what they did--added butter or olive oil?--but it was the BEST cauliflower crust that I have EVER had. I researched them once, and it was (at the time) 10 crusts for $15 from a web restaurant supply place. IF Mary's uses those crusts, they somehow greatly improve them. The pizza toppings were also WONDERFUL. We ordered three different pizzas, to share, and there was some confusion about one of the girl's orders, so Ashley got them ANOTHER pizza! That was unexpected and so very nice! The roasted vegetable side, and the burrata caprese appetizer were both incredibly flavorful. We had planned to go somewhere else, but it closes on Mondays. I am SO glad that we came to Mary's! The pepperoni and hot honey pizza, and the Marguerite pizza, were so yummy! The spinach (yuck) and artichoke was good, and so was the extra buffalo chicken, but the first two are REALLY good!

We went for our anniversary and got there a bit early so we chilled at the bar. Deep wood. Cozy. Chef Eric's SECRET RECIPE Manhattan was tasty but not over-the-top. Wife had espresso martini which she proclaimed to be delicious. We were seated at this cozy little uh... alcove off the main area. Very cute and semi-private. We opted for the 3-course prix fixe each. Frito Misto was a bit salty but delicious. Lightly breaded atop garlic aioli that was not overpowering. Meatballs were moist but the polenta stole the show. Substantive but not gritty. Very creamy. Perfect. Wife had corn ravioli. Prominent corn flavor which was simultaneously sweet and smoky. Very nice. I had the mafaldine with duck ragu. Being a hick I am wowed by the vast myriad of pasta forms. This was perfectly chewy and an excellent vessel for the duck ragu. Savory and unctuous. Wife had the donuts which were humongous munchkins served with a bowl of chocolate sauce. Slightly dry and salty which was a great counterpoint to the dipping sauce. I had the cheesecake which was... a cheesecake. I enjoyed it. The joint allows BYOW with no corking fee, which was pretty awesome. It's tucked up in Miller Place so watch for deer as you go.
