My move went very smoothly. The three guys worked very quickly and were friendly. Only one vintage glass got broken. I did mention yelp when I made the reservation and did not receive a discount which is disappointing. I also was not informed when I booked that there would be a 3% charge for using credit cards. I ended up paying in cash to avoid this. My only complaint is that I left two voicemails on two separate days and my calls were never returned. My Compliments are to the movers and not the business. I should have read the review on BBB before hiring People's Moving. Their reviews on movinghelp.com and on here were good, though I cannot imagine why. They called me a few weeks before scheduled delivery & unload of my u-box, and we agreed on 8:30am on the scheduled date. A week later, they called to schedule again, which I thought was a little weird, but I brushed it off as a mistake and reminded them we had already scheduled it for 8:30am, and the woman I spoke with agreed and apologized. Flash forward to the date of the move-in. About fifteen minutes before scheduled arrival, I tried to call to make sure they could find the place, as my place is located on a sort of hidden culdesac. No answer from the number listed here or on the one provided by uhaul. I went back through my call history and found the number that had originally called me to schedule (with a tx area code). No answer, but right after hanging up I received a text from that number. Here's how that conversation went: People's Moving: Hi, I missed a call from this number? Me: Hi! I had spoken to someone on this number from people's movers before? People's Moving: Yes how can I help you? People's Moving: I'm sorry I'm driving Me: No worries! I'm meant to have a uhaul ubox delivery and unload this morning and just wanted to confirm Me (twenty minutes later): They were meant to be here 15 minutes ago & the uhaul storage facility says the box hasn't been picked up. Me (twenty more minutes later): Hello? Those last two text messages weren't delivered. I also tried calling, and after one ring my call went to voicemail. In other words, they blocked my phone number. Movinghelp.com and Uhaul also tried to contact them on my behalf, to no avail. So 4 hours after they were scheduled to arrive, I'm trying to find a moving company available for same day service. This company is run by complete incompetence, if it is run at all. Save your money, time, and stress levels, hire someone else from the start. read more

Having used this company in the past to load a truck I provided, I decided to call them again to move me from one apartment to another, 30 minutes away. My belongings consisted of a mattress, box spring, 2 slipper chairs and a small end table and about twenty five boxes fully packed and stacked at the door. Three men arrived to load their truck. While the three gentleman were perfectly polite, they were very slow. On three occasions, I had to leave the apartments and check to see what was taking so long. While the movers were at the mercy of elevators, my unit was within 100 feet or less of the lifts at either location. A friend who was with me actually offered to help them to speed things up. Having taken a full six hours with travel time, they arrived at my new apartment when it was almost dark. During the move, a piece of the end table must have come loose and fallen off. Without it, the table could not be reassembled. It was dark out, and the movers had no flashlight to properly check their truck. The piece was never found. I contacted the office, knowing I was out of luck with table because the insurance provided by the company would pay me only 60 cents per pound - my fault for not thinking about that beforehand. But I also explained my frustration about the time it took for the move to the woman in the office. She seemed very understanding. I asked her if she would consider refunding me something, especially in light of the table; she told me to explain it in writing when I submitted my claim for the table, and I did just that. I received a letter soon thereafter, explaining to me that the time it took them to move me was consistent with their average moving times. But that would be my point, wouldn't it? read more

Worst moving company that I ever had. Took them from 8am to 9pm to move the next town over. The house was only 5 bedrooms. They sent 3 kids who were hungover. Asked me for medicine for headaches. Overheard them talking about drinking the night before. Towards the end of the move they were throwing things because it was a Friday and they wanted to go out. We can't find the motors to my sectional couch. They took the couch apart and left it there and did not put it back together. Also 3 lamps were broken. Two expensive chandeliers one in the old house and one in the new house broken. Left my mattress on the floor didn't bother to put the frame back together. Finally another truck comes around 3pm and i had to pay overtime for their lack of professionalism! At 930 when to pick up my animals and my dog passed away because they took too long. It's been a little over a week since the move and everytime I try to call the office the owner is never in. I have gotten lawyers involved now. DO NOT USE THEM. THEY ARE KIDS AND DO NOT TAKE CARE OF YOUR ITEMS. read more
