Open letter to the store manger for the sake of transparency.
    Rusty C.

Worst place ever! Took my car for brakes & rotor replacements. $701.23 way over priced 1st of all for all four wheels. Once the tech was completed the cars keys were handed off to the cashier & then handed over to me with a side note *"the tech spilt brake fluid on the rotors, he tried to get as much off as possible; but just so you know, it'll smell like some thing is burning". D'oh butter fingers! But no biggy. After driving the car for three days the smell gets worse rather than going away. On the fourth day my check brake light comes on, and then the brakes go out! That's correct, completely gave way! Fortunately no one was hurt and nothing was damaged aside from a NDE moment. Had to have the vehicle towed back to their shop, for a re-inspection. Apparently and according to their company the tech who spilt the fluid on the rotors, didn't install the calipers correctly, which ruined the back rotors, ruined the brake lines (some how) and.... well obviously ruined the calipers. So we were with out transportation for a full day, land locked! Obviously they needed to correct the brake system nightmare they created. They replaced the entire brake pads, rotors, new calipers & brake lines at their expense! Which was to be expected. How ever, being my only vehicle (which they were told) they offered no compensation for my time being land locked at the house. The corporate office has been called, I've asked for a full refund on the initial labor portion of the job $340 as compensation. -I didn't pay them $701.23 to have my brake system ruined and have them keep my vehicle unexpectedly. The corp. office recommend I settle this with the store manager Jeff. Who more or less laughed off my request for compensation of them screwing up the job he tried to explain to me that the calipers "just fell off" and that he feels they've "gone above & beyond". No Sir! Going above would have been doing the job right the 1st time, going beyond would be $340 (-labor cost) compensation for my family being with out a vehicle due to your stores negligence. (Imagine the lawsuit had there been an actual accident!) Not only am I peeved about their quality of work, poor costumer service, now I can add, I'm tremendously peeved at his/their arrogance to assume I'd buy the none sense of "they just fell off" & they "went above and beyond". Sincerely, Rusty --------------------------------------------------- Update: 6 8 15 Left with no other recourse then to appeal to social media, I've submitted an open letter to the BBB, FB, Twitter, Tumblr, Google+, YP, in an attempt to garnish a formal apology from the store's manager, as well as the $340 compensation that I feel my family is owed due to no transportation, loss of trust/confidence at their negligence. While I have managed to initiate a quick apologetic response from members of pepboy's social media team, and the assurance they're looking into to matter I have my reservation. But would like a quick resolve.

Update! Kevin contacted me, via text after reading the…read morereview, asking that I take the review down and allow him an opportunity to come back out and look at the vehicle, free of charge. Kevin shared that he was at risk of losing his job and was a lead tech, although listed as the owner. 'Management' also contacted and asked that I take the review down and offered to refund the labor. At this point (2 days later) I had already taken the vehicle to the Toyota dealer, as his 'management' advised the vehicle was complex and initially declined looking at the vehicle without another charge. Toyota Diagnosis: improper fitting and installed spark plugs. Cost: 98$ inspection- which was deducted from repair cost. Repair cost total, including one day vehicle rental, 468.79$. I reached back out to Kevin and 'Management', via text and email, three consecutive days- excluding Sunday, explaining the outcome and requesting a partial refund (spark plugs, diagnosis, and labor). I have not received a response and am now seeking civil action. Receipts attached. Again, the purpose of this review is to bring awareness.

2011 BMW 335i e93…read more Paid $1,300+ for a repair just for him to break my clip to the fuel rail, pop off the tips/tops to my brand new $1200 coil packs, left the ignition coils unplugged and said it wouldn't start. Kevin was supposed to replace my valve cover, MAF sensor, coolant hose, Fuel Sensor B, Air intake temp sensor, and Fuel regulator. This was all supposed to fix my minor misfire problem. I wasn't able to be there for the main repair bc i had work but he had called me and told me that he couldn't start the car but everything was good, and that it was bc the battery was dead/dying. Naturally i believed him bc my car had been sitting for a while, when i had went to check on the car the day after ready to jump it the car wouldn't turn over like it would before, i told him about this initially and he said that he would come back and check on his work. He never did. But upon further inspection i found several things wrong: The bottom 2 coil packs weren't in or seated properly (when taking them out the tips/tops weren't even connected) and the connector that goes to my fuel rail had been broken. These are just the things that I had noticed off rip, so only God knows how extensive the damage really is. After I noticed all of this I brought it to his attention by calling/texting him but he wouldn't respond- when usually he would answer almost right away. Today I tried contacting him again only to find out that my number had been blocked. This has ultimately been a waste of time and a huge waste of money whereas now i have to spend even more on a wiring harness or figure out how to or even IF i can solder a new connector on, buy new coil packs, etc. on top of already spending a good amount of money on a failed and botched repair. If you want my advice, the best choice is usually the hardest one.. don't look for mobile mechanics, or mechanics who don't own an actual shop or any "do-it-yourself"ers. Just take your car to an actual shop where you can get it properly and professionally looked at. You're gonna have to spend a lot of money anyways, so you might as we do it right the first time around rather than hop scotching to different mechanics and ppl. I just wish i would've known this sooner, don't be stubborn or a penny pincher, bc pennie's pinch back and when they do it's gonna hurt like ab.

I took my 1999 GMC Yukon to Auto Experts of Acworth in May to have both the engine and transmission…read morereplaced, based on what seemed like good past reviews. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the worst experiences I've had with any repair shop. When I went to pick up my vehicle and test drive it, things went wrong almost immediately. While on the highway, the truck locked up and dropped into first gear without warning. Upon inspection, I discovered that several wires and cords had been left unharnessed, and they had wrapped around the driveshaft, causing serious damage. Auto Experts replaced the transmission once -- then a second time -- but the truck still wasn't shifting properly. I eventually had to take it to AAMCO, who ended up fixing all of the issues that Auto Experts supposedly "repaired." Ever since those original mistakes, I've had to deal with a series of other mechanical problems, including issues with the transfer case, fuel pump, and electrical system -- all of which I believe were caused by their poor workmanship. Over several months, I was repeatedly charged for tows, additional parts, and labor, with little to no clear explanation. In total, I spent over $15,000, and my vehicle was never right. The front desk staff offered no real assistance and seemed unable to provide any information without Hector's approval. Communication was frustrating, and accountability was completely lacking. At this point, I feel that Auto Experts of Acworth took advantage of me and my trust. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into a financial and mechanical nightmare. After later checking the BBB, I found that they already have multiple negative reviews, which I wish I had seen before going there. Bottom line: If you're looking for an honest and reliable mechanic, do not trust Auto Experts of Acworth or Hector. Save yourself the stress, money, and time -- look elsewhere. Beware.
