Went in for a tire swap and inspection. Staff was pleasant. I did not get a quote for the services and upon pickup I did not receive an explanation of the prices. The problem I have is when they put the tires into my trunk of my 2025 new car they did not bag them! (Mavis does) Mud and rubber marks on my previously perfect headliner! 160 dollars to go home and do more work is absurd and I will not be returning. read more

I ordered tires online that showed available in store for a few days in advance, I put my card on file thinking that it would hold the tires (logical thinking to a normal person). I showed up today to my APPOINTMENT to be told the tires were sold out from beneath me yesterday. I was told by a very unprofessional service advisor that putting a card does not hold the tires for you and there is nothing that can be done. They Installed new tires I brought in, a weight fell off the next day so I brought it in to ask them to fix their mistake and they said they couldn't do anything about it until the next day. When I asked for a minor refund the manager refused at all costs and argued with me in front of other customers. Take your vehicle to the Ridge rd location. I went to this Pep Boys on Mckinley Pkwy. I had made an appointment the day before. I was greeted by a mechanic who asked me in a snarky tone who scheduled this appointment because it was inconveniencing them. They close at 7 and I was there at 4:15?I first went there about 3 weeks ago for an oil change and my coolant light was on so I asked them to check the coolant. Car was "serviced" and I went on my way. They didn't clear the oil light and the coolant light came on again. I was able to figure out how to clear the oil light but not the coolant warning. The coolant light kept going on and off so I just thought it was a sensor issue. Went to Walmart to get some coolant just in case but wanted to have PB check it again. I had opened the coolant tank and the level appeared low but I'm not a mechanic. Went back to the same PB yesterday and the supposedly check the coolant level. Said everything looked fine and the coolant level was fine. The "manager" said I should bring it back if the light came on again. Well this morning guess what the coolant light came on again. I went to work and decided I will check the level myself after doing some research on youtube. So after work I took my flashlight and looked at the tank and the level was well below the minimum that it should have been. I immediately add more coolant and guess what the light did not return. I thoroughly believe they did nothing to my car. DON'T GO HERE!!! The Pep Boys at Southwestern and Camp rd are a lot more accommodating and customer service is their priority. Don't waste time at the McKinley location! read more

The manager of this store is a con-artist. We phoned ahead for specific tires and were told they were in stock, drove 45 minutes, only to be told they didn't have the tires, and then that we should buy more expensive tires, lower miles, because all tires rot out after 3 years so buying higher mileage tires is pointless. All of this was said to me, a woman, while my boyfriend hung in the back. At which point, my BF told the guy in no uncertain terms that he had wasted our time, was lying through his teeth, and was a complete buttwipe. The guy then threatened to call the police because he is more than willing to setup the scam but doesn't want to deal with somebody calling him on being a scumbag. Corporate was contacted regarding this experience, which lost PepBoys $800 and a lifetime of additional business, as I "shared" with all of my facebook and nextdoor friends so they wouldn't drive out of their way in order to be conned into buying more expensive tires by a liar. However, it needs to be said that if PepBoys employs such a person, as a manager, that its hard to believe that they aren't dishonest in other ways. read more

Made an appointment at 9AM for an inspection, upon arriving, the person at the front desk said it would be a little bit as they only had one technician working (which I was fine with). After an 1.5 hour wait, the front desk person came out to let me know that they couldn't do my inspection since their printer broke. I waited from 9AM till 10:35AM for nothing and now I have to rearrange plans to make another appointment somewhere else. Very disappointed. read more

Left the business in DISCUSSED. Had an appointment at 2:30pm. I sat in the waiting area for an HOUR & THEY STILL DID NOT PULL MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE! They were taking walk ins off the street ahead of me. A women had a 3pm appointment & they pulled her in right away. Also there was a women sitting in the waiting area since 12pm, no one was working on her car, & she was told they where waiting on parts along with her authorization. Been going here for a few years for tires/oil changes/inspections. Was most recently here for my state inspection. It's easy to make an appointment online and I've never had an experience when they weren't ready for me when I arrived. This time, my low tire pressure light happened to come on just as I was leaving for my appointment. They went ahead and fixed the issue and gave me 50% off the tire repair service for being a member of their club. Friendly service and good social distancing practices in place. read more

Great place for service, and to buy automotive parts. Yes other stores will have similar or the same parts at different prices, do your research before coming in. They usually have great coupons and sales going online, which you can select for pickup in store, and your parts are usually bundled before you get there.
