Mark at Monro has been an absolute saint this last year. Backstory: I moved to Buffalo from California to do a one year nursing program at UB. Our program requires that we have a car (to get to and from hospitals, patient homes, etc.) and so I bit the bullet and had my car shipped to Buffalo. While I had just had my car checked out in California before I left, it seemed that I kept running into issue after issue. My delicate little Californian car wasn't made to withstand the brutality of Buffalonian potholes. Every time I have run into an issue, or just needed normal maintenance, Mark has worked with me to keep my car safe and driveable. He's given me advice that's saved me tons of money ("don't drive in the right lane, they always have more potholes") and has gotten me in at the last minute time and time again. He's been straight with me about what I need to have fixed now, and what can wait. I'd recommend Monro to anyone in Buffalo, but especially to those people who aren't native to the area. read more

Called and made an appointment for a car inspection. I live in the city but every shop I called was booked for the day, so I decided I would make the half hour drive to get it done. I show up and the same guy I talked to on the phone acted like he didn't know I was coming in. Turns out they were out of inspection stickers so he couldn't even do it. Wouldn't you double check that before you say you can do it? He offered me to drive to Depew to get it done today at a different location. Unfortunately I had prior commitments and couldn't afford to waste another 2 hours. Very frustrating! Customer service is trash, do better, you should be ashamed. read more

My daughter took her 1996 Oldsmobile to this shop for a NYS Inspection in December, 2011. They said in order to pass they needed to install a new serpentine belt for $110.99. The manager said the belt was frayed but could not show me any fraying or wear. The belt was about one year old with very low miles. We left minus the inspection sticker and $21.00. The next day my daughter took the car to Towne Ford in Orchard Park. She told the manager what happened at Monroe Muffler and after looking at the belt he said that he would not fail the car for that reason. When she picked the car up after a complete inspection, the manager told her that he had three other inspectors examine the belt and all agreed that it was in good condition. I complained to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and they conducted a full investigation including interviewing both repair shops and inspecting and photographing the belt. They determined that Monroe Muffler was in violation of NYS Law. They were issued two citations and ordered to refund the inspection fee. This was obviously an attempt to increase profits by taking advantage of a young girl who has no knowledge of automobile repair. read more

Terrible service! Started with Ridge Road location. Went to Munro's website to make an oil change/tire rotation appointment, on July 2nd, for July 5th. Went to Ridge Road location on July 5th & they had no record of my appointment. Showed the manger the confirmation Email! It had all the information, date, time & address. He said, he had no control over website & they were overbooked! Best, could he could do was Sunday. Walked out, very disappointed! Wife called this location, setup an appointment for 4pm today. Manager had no record of our appointment! I laughed! He couldn't help me because he had only 1 technician & 3 cars ahead of me. Manager blamed the issue on a new call center. He asked what number did we call & we told him, the phone number posted on your store window. He said, it was the call center issue, not their's. He setup an appointment for 10am tomorrow & promised he would be there to assist us. Will see! I wouldn't recommend Munro Muffler for anything. They can't get there stories/lies correct. I have spent over $2,000+ trying to get my girlfriends car repaired at Munro in Orchard Park. My girlfriend needed a new part for her Jeep to help with alignment issues. Munro ordered an incorrect part - which was confirmed by the Jeep dealership down the road on Southwestern Blvd. This incorrect part, is causing my girlfriend's Jeep to kick on 4-wheel drive now after starting the car and driving for about 5 minutes. Munro will not rectify the situation and I'm absolutely done. This place is all on commission, and they will only try to make money off of you and then when they mess something up, claim it's not their fault. If you ever consider stopping by, just burn any cash in your wallet instead. Will get the same result. Never go there. On top of that, one day while I was spending another $1,000+ on my own car, the manager Dave gave me an ear beating about his ex-wife and their problems. No one wants to hear that, unprofessional and TMI. read more

Zero stars here. The manager Andrew Rafanowicz is a real piece of work. #1 the day before I set up an appointment to have an inspection and brake work done. When I came in for the appointment he said we can't do the inspection cause the State is auditing them. "Why didn't you call me and tell me, so I didn't waste a half day of work???? So, I wouldn't waste the day and another appointment I told him to do the brakes. I have a lifetime warranty pads there. I told him I got rotors done at another place, which does not void out the pads, He said I will have to charge you full labor to take a look at the pads. If they don't match I will charge you full price???? I got in an argument with him about it, he said he was gonna call the cops. I told him be my guest, I will wait. If not, get my car down so I can get out of this place. BEWARE he quoted me over $4,000 to pass inspection. Coming up with things he says won't pass, but they just did a year ago.... Again BEWARE He is one of the guys that will pray on older people and convince them they need something more than they actually need. I never went to the manager before he must be new. Go to another Monroe if you can. They don't get a lot of business. There was only 2 cars in the bay. The other manager said they we doing an overhaul cause they were underperforming. read more

Definitely recommend these guys. I walked in and they got me in for an oil change immediately (most places i called had to schedule a week in advance). The people were very friendly and the price for my oil change was good (they had a sale going on). I decided to go here after I had less than desirable service across the street at the bigger place (won't name names but rhymes with Bunn bires :)). Very satisfied! read more
