while driving to New York on Sat 21st my car started driving weird , I called my warranty to find out where I can take my car to be looked at before I need to get on the road Weds . I get to Pep boys around 730-745 . I told the Gentleman what was happening with my car , He told me he will have his mechanic look at it and do a diagnostic test on my car a couple of hours later I was told my car need new spark plugs , so the price I was quoted seemed too high , so I went up the block to auto zone a brought them to have them put them in . when the mechanic noticed that one of the screws was to hard to take off he suggested I take it to Nissan dealership to have them do it because he didn't want to damage my car and I VERY GRATEFUL FOR THAT . LET ME NOTE THAT THE GETLEMAN THAT I THINK IS THE MANAGER BECAUSE HE HAD A WHITE SHIRT ON WAS VERY NICE ALSO ...HE DECIDED NOTE TO CHARGE ME FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST, MY PROBLEM IS IF YOU DIAGNOSED SOMEONE CAR SHOULD IT TELL YOU EVERYTHING THAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR CAR , WILL IT DIDN'T KNOW I MIGHT HAVE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, BECAUSE AFTER NISSAN PUT MY SPARK PLUGS ON MY CAR DIED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHEN I ASKED HIM IF THE MECHANIC FOUND ANYTHING ELSE WRONG AND PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY DO A COMPLETE CHECK ON my 2015 Nissan Versa note.. they paid for my car to get Tow back to them and they will look at it again , ok so they still don't see anything wrong with my transmission but my engine light never came ever since I had it and that's been over a year ... Go Back There For A Warranty And Ricky Will Insult Your Intelligence And Do Everything He Can Not To Give It To You, He'll Come Up With Every Reason Why It's Your Fault, Then Offer You A .50 cent Air Freshener. I came into the Pep Boys store early this morning to get my vehicle inspected, in which I did, successfully. I was met by a gracious sales associate, by the name of Stephanie, whom processed my inspection request with such accuracy and professionalism, which I was extremely satisfied. I was greeted with a friendly smile as she offered her assistance. I also got the same exact reception as I went to apply for a Peb Boys credit line from a sales associate by the name of Teasha, friendly smile, very pleasant sense of humour and great professionalism, very patient, as I tried to get the necessary documents I needed to apply. She explained to me clearly and professionally about want I needed to know regarding my new card. As well as Nelson, Assistant Service Manager, whom I spoke to regarding the purchase of a set of tires for my vehicle. Nelson was very professional and very knowledgeable.in what he was doing. As well as Mr. Micheal Wright, garage attendant, very kind, helpful and showed great professionalism in dealing with customers. I was extremely pleased in my experience at Pep Boys today. I've taken my 14 year old Cadillac DeVille to this location several times from small work to major work and the job always gets done and done well. Some people have to understand in order for work to be done correctly, you might have to wait a little. Do you want your car fixed right? Take it here. Ignore these negative reviews, people in general don't like to wait and expect a cheap and fast repair. Well, cheap and fast doesn't mean it's quality work. As for the pricing, I think it's pretty fair. For a simple door regulator replacement that I had done recently...it was done correctly and it was done cheaper than any other place that quoted me (imagine what taking it to the dealer would cost?). I've dealt with store manager Rick more than once and he's always been fair, kind and worked with me to ensure I left feeling content with both the work & service. I had the pleasure of Pep-Boys associate Denzel to address my car problem. He took the time to listen to my problem and made sure it was addressed and done correctly. Being Pep-Boys deals with more than one customer at a given time, it gets busy, nevertheless they are polite and professional. One other reason I like Pep-Boys, is 97% of the time, they have the parts needed for your car on the premises. They stand by their work. So, in the event, if by some fluke an adjustment needs to be made on your car, Rick and the rest of the staff will fast-track you...so, they can adjust whatever needs to be done ASAP. I recently went to Pep Boys at this location because earlier that morning I went to my Nissan dealer for a State Inspection and complimentary oil change . To my surprise I was told that my brakes had gone bad and that they wanted to charge me over 1,000 dollars to complete the job on my vehicle. Of course this was distressing because I had not prior indication that my car was that badly in need of a maintenance. The most disturbing thing is that this is where I get my maintenance on my car and at no time had this come up. My car is a 2008 with less then 27,000 miles. I immediately called my husband and we had to think fast. After several phone calls I landed at this Pep boys on Tremon Avenue where my husband and I met Mr. Nelson Rodriguez and Joseph O'Donel. We were so impressed with how they treated us fromstart to finish. They LOVE cars, people and what they do. Upon arrival I explained to them what I thought was the problem. This is the greatest place to be for several reasons, they take the time to explain what they are going to do for your car. They gave me an estimate and didn't try to get over. I was able to question them about other services. This is where I will be coming for all my car needs. The location is close to my home, and they treat you really nice. This weekend I brought my Suv to have break work done. When I left there it looked like they forgot to put the lugs for my wheels back on. I called and spoke with the Service Manager Rick Deleno who at the time was done for the day and headed home to have diver with his family. I live 5 minutes away from the store and he came by to check on the car. He offered to have the car towed at the expense of Pep Boys and said he would do whatever to help resolve the problem. The man was headed home to have dinner with his family and instead came to assist a complete stranger in need. 2 other staff members also came to assist. Jasson brought a lift in his own car and Mike who worked on my car also was there. Turns out the lugs were on the car all the time it just so happened the center cap on my rims shifted covering the lugs. Those guys went above and beyond their job duties. For those guys to do what they did it needs to be mentioned. I will get all my car work done the from now on. It so hard to find people like that and all 3 of these guys work in the same place. Pep Boys comes through again! Being my car has a few years on it, certain things wear out with normal use. I'm pretty fond of my car, as I'm 6' 5" and these newer smaller, less powerful cars don't do it for me. I've brought my car into Pep-Boys several times, from simple break and tire replacement to difficult engine repair jobs. This time my A/C conked out and I needed it fixed ASAP, as I use my A/C year round. Store manager Ricky Beleno (and his associates) have always worked with me, regardless of the job. Sometimes there might be a hiccup in a difficult repair and this Pep-Boys has always managed to resolve unforeseen issues without charging more than I paid for. I agree with another reviewer to disregard all these petty negative reviews. I'd rather wait to have my car fixed correctly than to get a fast sloppy repair. The bottom line is, this Pep-Boys has kept my aging car on the road and I've always been treated with respect and dignity. read more

I'm not coming back to Pep Boys after today. Not doing one of the jobs that I asked them to do because a technician didn't know how to do it, not telling this bit of information to me after they told me that the car was done and I was ready to cash out four hours later, and having an "Oh, well" attitude is unacceptable. They would never have told me if I hadn't asked if it was done. Also, they gave me someone else's work order. This is absolutely ridiculous. The communication between employees and between employees and customers is abysmal. And, to top it off, the part that I needed isn't available, but it would have arrived in time if it was ordered when I originally brought the car in. When presented with the option of leaving the car overnight or going somewhere else, guess what I chose. Never again will I go to Pep Boys. read more

Received a replacement on my axel, brakes , and pads. Only to bring my vehicle back and find out the axle was defective. I waited from 7 am until 3pm. When I received my vehicle back the car was steering to the right. So I brought the car back the same day because whoever reinstalled the axel messed up the cars calipers and steering. They sent me in a cab home and I had to come back the next day with only one side of my car fixed. My cars abs light is on and now I'm scared to take it back because they might make things even worse. 3500 dollar job down the drain. the only thing I could say about the store is the manager was okay but they need more training on working on these vehicles read more

I decided to have my oil change at this Pep Boys location because it is near my apartment. When I entered the staff seemed friendly and tried their best to service all the customers. Service manager Ricky assisted me with my request. I understood the store was busy and he continued to be polite through the whole transaction. This is a hard task to accomplish when you have a busy store with a long line. Ricky maintained a professionalism when working with me and his uniform was tidy, however the some of the other employees seemed unprofessional due to the dirty uniforms they were wearing. If there uniforms were squared away they may have been able to appear professional. read more

PAY ATTENTION EVERYONE IF YOUR CAR HAS A FACTORY TINT DO NOT TAKE IT TO THIS LOCATION FOR INSPECTION! After waiting two hours the front desk attendant informed me that my 2016 maxima with a factory tint had failed the state inspection because the Windshield and other glass failed the safety test. I tried explaining to them that the car was factory tint and needed washing and all the technicians has to do was just wipe the glass before the test to no avail... I don't know why they failed your car but it's obvious if they new that just passing a rag on the glass would of given a pass on the factory tint and it wasn't done what else would they do to customers? read more

I have gone to this store many times regarding my car because I feel the most comfortable that they are going to provide me with the best service and not make up things that need to be done. This location has a great manager in Ricky he was very accommodating and patient with me, and the mechanic ( Aarondell ) who performed the work was also great. Very informed and expedited a job that should have taken many hours down to less than half the projected time. Every question I had was answered and even though I know I was asking a lot of questions, I never felt like I was being annoying. They made sure I was happy with the work performed and I am. They pointed out other problems that my car had and didn't pressure me to fix it right then and thre. Ricky was honest and said that I can still go on driving around but that some parts of my car needed to be changed sooner rather than later.
