DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL SCAM YOU. put my car in on Friday ran diagnostics Sunday they all pointed to an issue with the crank sensor they switched up last minute and said it was fuel pump, ofc a more expensive job. tech called out sick so we towed it to Gruelichs 1.2 miles away and they ran diagnostics and apparently there were now no issues expect weirdly my battery that we just bought is now dead. so you do the math. read more

I wanted to give it 3 stars...I mean it was good value, they were friendly and honest.....let me rewind a bit, I ordered tires from Tirerack (highly recommended) and chose to deliver it to Pep boys because of the price and I had the day off so figured I would grab a coffee. I dropped my car off at 845 with an appointment made over a week ago at 9am. Guy at the desk was honest with me saying it would take a few hours since a 2nd person doesn't come in until 930-10. A little annoyed but figured I would make a day in downtown Chandler (see my other reviews). Anyway car finishes around 1215, was kinda expecting the usual upsells in XYZ but nothing, just friendly as I'm getting the keys. So as I'm getting into my car I'm thinking a 3 is a good rating, would be higher if the turnaround time was quicker. However as I drive down the road I look at my tire pressures and they are all over the place. Now I know, not a huge deal I can go to any gas station and change it but I consider it part of the service and also attention to detail. I recommend this place if you're going to drop off. Not clean not nice inside it's your basic oil shop so don't expect anything fancy or nice customer service. Dishonest Management - stay away!!! I have been visiting this location for the last 10 years for tire servicing and oil change. The last store manager, Scott, has been the reason why I keep coming back. He was honest and looked out for my interest. However, my last few visits have been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Recently, I brought my puntured tire to be fixed, and it was under road hazard warrenty. The store manager refused to fix the tire giving reasons such as the puntured location is not fixible and the tire is too old with hairline cracks. I was frustrated and upset as I know this can be fixed. I left the shop for another Pepboy location a few blocks away. The service technician at the other location looked at the punctured tire and immediately said this was absolutely repairable. After this experience, I know I should never return to Pepboy shop. From here on, I am better off getting my tire servcing from Costco and oil change at Walmark. read more

0/5. Dishonest Staff. I scheduled an appointment for a ride-share vehicle inspection. I failed for the first time. In the same vehicle that I've been using for years. Same condition. They stated the reason for the failure is due to a crack in my windshield, which hasn't traveled and has been there since I purchased the vehicle over 3 years ago. There's no real reason to replace the windshield because it's not a threat to my safety or that of others. They stated that my horn doesn't work. I even mentioned that couldn't be right, and I was informed that they attempted 6x to press on my horn and nothing. I kindly went to my car and played a nice tune for them before I left. This place needs a thorough, deep clean in the customer-waiting "lounge," just as bad as they need honest staff. read more

We take our fleet vans here due to our service contract with our business partner not because we want to. Last week, two vehicles that were serviced at this site had oil filters that we not secured correctly which required 500+ in repairs by the dealership service center. I have invoices showing that the oil filters were not placed correctly. When we called to follow up on this, Terrell, the service manager; was not only helpful but downright rude. He refused to acknowledge that his store had been the last to touch the oil filters (it was very recent) and rather than hear our concerns simply argued that we were incorrect and it could never have occurred at his site. I am warning you now, the quality of the work performed here is subpar. The customer service is even worse than that. I'd gladly love to speak with the owner of the store, business owner to business owner to address training/quality and customer service issues at this chandler site. Came here today after a scary situation. I went up north to Sedona for the day to go hiking and upon arrival at the trailhead, noticed my steering wheel was having trouble turning and it felt as if my front wheels were locking/catching. Knowing my carpool buddy would be out of town all week, I rushed back to my hometown Pep Boys as soon as I safely could (literally no auto shops open in Sedona or Flag on a Sunday smh!!). Gabe and Arnel realized the urgency of the situation and diagnosed my car's issue immediately. My power steering belt had torn and needed to be replaced. These gentlemen were so kind that not only did they fix it in like 15 min, but they then didn't even charge me for labor (just the belt itself)!! Now that is what I call excellent customer service and going above and beyond. I was very skeptical of Pep Boys in the past as I hadn't heard the greatest of things about them and didn't have that great of experiences with them growing up. Hertz rental in this location never answers the phone. Called 3 times left on hold 10-45 minutes each time. Numerous times hertz rentals at this location picked up and put the call back on hold. Inconvenient and ridiculous. At least find out what I need before leaving your customers on long holds. Horrible experience. Took me 1 hour to drop off my car even though I made an appointment and only had one person in line in front of me. The worker was making small talk with the customer, and then suddenly let another customer who needed to pay go in front of me, who proceeded to take 40 mins to pay due to an issue with his card, and instead of asking the person to go call this credit card company, made me and multiple groups behind me wait those 40 mins as the customer fixed his card issue. Then when the customer finally paid, the worker looked at me and instead of helping, started organizing some files and then finally said that they would help me. The sales rep was helping me out buying them but the price was not modified in their system. Auto Plus (commercial manager) said she won't give me the sale price. She was so rude, i even asked her to override it. She said she is the store manager since i saw the asking price and that's the only type of Bosch wiper blades they had for sale that time. I had a flat tire on Monday and thought I had bought my tires from Big O so that's where I headed. I came an hour and a half before they closed and I believe I was helped by the manager. He was obviously annoyed I had come and as he helped me, he sighed a lot and was short with his answers. He looked up my number and we discovered I had bought tires for a previous car from them but not my current tires. I left and remembered I had purchased them from Pep Boys, so that's where I headed. Pep Boys was across town so by the time I got there, it was about an hour an a half before they closed. The experience was night and day from the one I had at Big O. I was greeted upon entry and the gentleman was very nice, told me the wait time and said they would get it taken care of. I waited in the waiting room and when they finished, he brought me the paperwork and said I was all set. The flat was covered and I didn't owe anything (I think I have hazard insurance or something)! I have been to this Pep Boys location several times and every time has been a great experience. Everyone is friendly and helpful and they always make me feel valued as a customer...even when they aren't making any money on my visit.
