I paid for 4 Michelin tires that showed up as "in stock" + an alignment and made an appointment for installation. At the time of my appointment I showed up to this Pep Boys and they had no record of my appt nor did they have a record of my payment. Luckily I showed my emailed receipt and confirmation to the coordial staff. After waiting 40 minutes I was notified they didn't have the tires I paid for in stock. I cancelled my order and it was another 20 minutes before I was assured that my order was cancelled and my credit card would not be charged or it would be refunded as soon as possible. The online stock availability and online appointment system do not work successfully. I took my truck in cuz they're slightly pulling to the left got it back with my steering wheel cock to the left and it pulling hard to the right now took the guy three times to almost correct it but now the steering wheel is a little cock to the right and it drifts to the right I took it in to fix that problem I paid $100 and now it's pulling to the opposite side what a waste of money. We were told that they didn't believe the battery was ours, and that we could have found it somewhere and put it in the car. Came here Saturday for an alignment, Luis said "appointments don't matter that your better off just showing up at 8am instead." Then I explained to him that's like showing up to a reservation and then them saying you should have shown up earlier. Then he said ok it'll be done in about 2 hours.. Job was in fact done in after 2 hours and we returned prior to them being finished. The technician pulled it out and handed us our keys. Didn't test drive it, Nothing signed, no paperwork provided, and no alignment printout. Nothing. I said that's odd. Took off and noticed it pulled really bad to the right so I called and said I can't bring it back today but will you be there Wednesday morning (3/22) Luis confirmed he would be. Showed up Wednesday the 22nd 757 am, walked in at 8am was greeted by Jesus (name not provided or on his shirt, I had to ask) told him why I am there and that I had an appointment. His response was aggressive and said "not today, maybe by the end of the day." I said "there's nothing you can do? It's a 60 mile around trip for me to come here and now I'm here twice for the mistake, Shouldn't you call customers that have appointments if you can't do the service" he responded "it's online I can't see online appointments.. The bay is blocked and they still need to pour down stuff" I told him it isn't blocked and the asphalt is already Laid. He said they can't but I'm more than welcome to leave the keys and I can try by the end of the day. I'm new to Indio. Since I had great luck with Pep Boys over they years when I lived in Los Angeles, I decided to try this nearby Pep Boys. I needed 4 new tires, a car alignment, and a car battery. I did comparison shopping with a few of the other local shops/mechanics. Yet overall, I was happy that I got good pricing at this Indio Pep Boys, plus I was very happy that I could have all 3 jobs completed at Pep Boys. Whereas some of the other shops/mechanics could not perform all 3 jobs, which meant I would have to go somewhere else to have 1 or 2 of the other jobs completed. So it was convenient that Pep Boys was able to do all 3 jobs, in 1 stop. Overall, I have no complaints about this Indio Pep Boys. I though the pricing was fair, the customer service was very good. If I had to complain, I would say that I was only disappointed by the fact that I was told that my car would be completed at a certain time, but it was not. So I called about 2 hours after my car was scheduled to be completed, but they told me that my car was not ready and would be ready in about an hour. So it would have been nice if they would have called me "first" and let me know that it was taking longer and that I could pick up my car at the new completion time, "before" I called them to learn this. Yet since I did not wait at the shop for the work to be completed, it really was not an issue. Once I picked-up my car, everything was done to my satisfaction and I has happy. Now that my car is no longer under factory warranty, I plan to bring my car to Pep Boys to get major mechanical work done on it when needed, as it would cost much more if I took my car to the dealer to have the same work done. Yet again, I had been going to Pep Boys in Los Angeles for decades, and I always felt I got good quality parts, and good quality work done on my car for a fair and decent price. I made an appointment for just an oil change at 930am do to a coupon sent out for 25% off any oil change and when I got there I found out they were having a computer issue I get it it happens, but when they started taking my information I asked for the oil change but not the tire rotation he said fine then said their system wouldn't let them just add the basic semi synthetic oil and had to put the full synthetic in it I said forget it then the system let them add the basic oil ? When they finally started the oil change they came to the waiting room and said they need to replace the drain plug I said if it needs it okay, while they worked on the car I walked over to car quest in the same building and asked the counter person how much is a drain plug and told me 5.95 that's about normal so I walked back to the other door same building to the waiting room and waited I received a text saying car is finished and went to pay the bill and was given a what I thought was a mistake and when I asked how much for the drain plug he said $21 I told him right next door they are $5.95 he said don't be made at me the company sets the price. I feel it's price gouging and unacceptable for any company to add that much markup and will not be returning there for oil changes again I guess it's the dealership for service next time read more

I saw a great promotion on tires online and I decided to open a line of credit with pep boys and was approved. I Looked online for prices and found the tires That had the best rating. Went into the store and waited almost four hours for set of 4 new tires. Went it was time to pay. I provided the information that was given to me by the credit card. the employee said "we need the expiration of that card" I'm like they didn't give me that information. I called pep boys again waited about 25 min and no one answered. I did asked the associate if they can call, maybe they can get a quicker response and he said no we don't do that here. I paid cash and left. I got home and noticed one of the caps was missing. Went back and talked to the store manager (Louis- Luis). He said "it was probably a road hazard and it fell off and btw you had missing clips on the cap that's probably the reason why it fell off. You can go to auto parts and buy a new up-cap". I was shocked on his response for being a store manager. I've been going to America's tires for two years with my vehicle and never once I had an issue of broken clips on the cap. There is one thing i like to point out is that The employee at pep boys did tell me the band of the alternator was making noise and gave me a quote to fix it. but he never mention the cap was missing clips. So it didn't make sense. I've worked in the auto service industry for couple years as a service advisor you have to let the customer know of issues that your vehicle has or was discovered while be maintenance. I spoke to Denise who answered the phone before I brought my car in asking if Pep Boys could install and program Lexus tire sensors. Oh yes, I was assured. But oh NO, they couldn't and I wasted 2 trips to their shop for a total of 7 hours between the 2 visits. On the 2nd visit, the sensors still were not working after waiting 4.5 hours and paying over $400 dollars in parts and labor and guess what? Pep Boys Benjamin and his boss didn't give a F**K!! Benjamin said there must be an underlying condition, there's nothing they could do, and they won't refund my money. Louis the so called store manager calls my fiancé and informs her that the tires on the car are real bad and need to be replaced. That they were not drivable. So we told him to get us a quote on 4 new tires. He called us back and told us he found the tires and they would be there Sunday and the car would be ready by 2pm. But before he could order the tires we had to pre pay. So we drove there and paid. He did not give us a work order explaining what all we were paying for. Instead he took screen shots of there computer and using his personal cell phone and text them to us. We went on Sunday at at 4pm and they were closed even though the store hours said 6pm. Went back on Tuesday and talk to Louis and he said they only shipped two tires and he doesn't know when they are going to send them. We didn't even get a call to inform us about the tires. Long story short today March 17 we went to pick up the car and the tires were still not there. Our car was there for 6 days and only two new tires. Tried to talk to Louis about giving us our money back so we could go get our tires somewhere else. Louis stated I can't give you your money back you have to call corporate. Louis became very unprofessional and told us to do him a favor and never come back. We told Louis we would never go back and we were going to tell everyone not to go there. He became anger, starring at me very aggressive than Louis walk around the counter wanting to fight. Stating It doesn't matter anywhere we are at its on. You don't scare me. The guys,Michael & another young man - sorry can't remember his name- we're friendly and professional. They completed the work quickly and I was impressed enough that I brought my other car there for tires and alignment. I bought the lifetime contract for repair and alignment- I have absolutely no qualms about recommending this store; it may not be plush as far as the facility itself is concerned but I don't go places because they have a comfortable waiting room.
