This Pep Boys was really unprofessional. I brought my car here for a diagnostic on my A/C. I was quoted a wait time of one hour. When the job was done they tried to quote me for several things and I opted to pick up my vehicle. The clerk (Imran) proceeded to tell me that I would have to wait another 45 minutes on top of the 1.5 hours I already waited to pick up my vehicle, because the technician was on lunch. I walked around the back and saw two technicians working on vehicles. Came back and politely asked for my vehicle back at which point the clerk said he'd speak with the mechanic and again tells me I'll have to wait another half hour. I've been here multiple times and each time I've scheduled my appointment days in advance but when I arrive which is either early or on time the gentleman at the front first response to me is you booked same day appointment and I'm like no I booked days ago. Then his next line is I might have to reschedule you. He always goes and check the area where the technicians are and then says yeah I have to reschedule you I only have 1 or 2 guys working today. This location never calls and let me know that my appointment cannot be honored. Something had went with my tires I don't know if felt like like they were either gonna fall off or my engine was about to fall out I didn't know what was going on. I felt it was the tires but wasn't sure. I went in there and my tires were all loose. Don't know what happened so the manager said he wasn't gonna charge me and just to tip. The guy that had tightened up my tires name was Chris. He was awesomeexplained to me what had happened and that my husband had not tightened up the wheels properly after he had worked on the car, I tipped him $30 very honest people I would highly recommend they could've taken advantage of me. Would not recommend. Took my car here for a simple oil change only because my dad didn't have time to do it like he usually does. I had my appointment at 1:30 and did not get out of there till 4:20. It takes 30 mins to an hour MAX to do an oil change. They then tried telling me I needed my tires changed when I just changed them 2 months ago and rarely drive. After getting my car inspected noticed some scratches that I do not think were there before the inspection. I informed the worker and they only looked at one and said it wasn't from them and said sorry and walked away. There are scratches on my window that were not there before (I purchased the ar very recently and feel like I am very aware of what marks were there.) I took my car in for an oil change and a tire rotation. I did a little trick I know on my tires to see if they actually do the tire rotation. Well unfortunately when I picked up my car they had not done the tire rotation. If a customer asks to have the tire rotation done it should be done. There's no excuse for it to not be done. I wish I could give you no stars. Check engine light came on. Sensor error code. Then they found cracked pcv hose, fouled spark plugs, head gasket leaking and of course the air filter. 1500-2500 bucks. Lol. I took it to my neighbor and it cost me 200 bucks plus parts. Go to Pep Boys on Saturday (MY DAY OFF) to drop my work truck off to get serviced. Needs new tires, brakes, battery, oil change and even wiper blades. The guy at the desk told me the truck will be good to Sunday so I can have it back by Monday when I have to go back to work. Sunday comes and goes and I never got a call back so I called and got told now that the truck still wasn't ready yet!?!? So now I have to take time off of work that I will not be getting compensated for due to the poor time management and all I got from the supervisor was "sorry I wasn't here so I don't know what happened".."we will get the truck out as soon as we can he's working on it now"...That's not how you do business let alone how you fix the situation. I called again Monday as soon as they open and the truck still is not ready and keep in mind I still haven't gotten one phone call to let me know the status .Safe to say I'm never coming back here again. I scheduled an appointment at 1pm for an oil change, I was running late & called to say I would be about 10 minutes late & was reassured that would be no problem. When I arrived I was told there was no technicians available as they all went to lunch & asked if I wanted to wait until 2pm or reschedule. I asked why I was scheduled an appt at 1pm if all the technicians went to lunch at 1pm, he blamed it on the girl that originally scheduled the appointment. I chose to wait, about 10 minutes later I was told there was no technicians left for the rest of the day as they were all working on others car already. He then asked if I wanted to reschedule for tomorrow which obviously I said no to. I told them they were getting a 1 star review for it. About 10 minutes later they had the girl I spoke to originally call me & let me know that they could do the oil change I would just have to wait 40 minutes until they finished the car before me. So which is it? Was no one available? Or was it because I told him that I was leaving a 1 star review that they figured out how they could fit me in for an oil change...? I DO NOT RECOMMEND! There's a reason they have 2.3 stars on yelp, check out all the other 1 star reviews. I originally went here because I was quoted $90 before the $20 coupon for full synthetic. $70, needless to say is a great price. Dont waste your time just for the price, there's a reason they quote their oil prices so low, & i would assume that's because they want to do a full inspection & then convince you need a ton of repairs. I just wanted the oil change, you think I would trust a place with a 2.3 star rating to actually do repairs on my car? For repairs I definitely would recommend SACTO auto if you are anywhere near riverside. Had a good experience here today after a very negative one with the competitor across the street. You know your day isn't starting great when you have to deal with a dead battery. I got prompt help finding the right battery and they carried my old battery in and the new one out to my car. I appreciated that the employee actually explained why the battery tested "bad" (low amps) when I asked. The employees helping me also were attentive and keeping me updated throughout the battery check and purchase, which was quick. Also, for my item they were able to price match. I started the day planning to spend a decent amount of money at the competitor, but with the good service and everything they got my purchase and now my car starts. read more

Had 8am appointment and didn't get out of there til 1pm for simple tire rotation and front brake job. Shop was not busy today at all but mechanics and staff were working like they were half asleep. Trash cans in waiting room were full at 8am (when they opened) and flys were abundant. Horrible review because they were trying to up-charge me and my friend for changing the front headlights bulb! 150$ just to change it... they saw we were girls and decided to up charge.. we went across the street and they charged us $40... for the same service !!! I wish I would have gotten her name but the woman who I believe was a manager in the store side of the shop was amazing. My battery died and was corroded and not looking great. She took the time to see what she could do to remove the corroded material, take out my battery, and replace it. She was super nice and explained a lot to me about the battery in a knowledgeable and professional way (not condescending like I get a lot of time.) She was really cool and made my day! I take my personal vehicle to this store often and I am always satisfied. But today I was overly impressed! I work at a local business nearby and had a company vehicle with a dead battery. I called them and asked if they could change the battery because I need the vehicle tomorrow. They said yes you can bring it now. I spent about 30 minutes trying to jumpstart it so I could drive it over and had no luck. So I called them back and asked if they would be able to come to me and swap battery...and they did!!!! Jesus and Chris showed up 10 minutes later with a battery and changed it on the spot. I am very grateful for them. read more

I have been dealing with Pep Boys since the 1950's. They were always a repected auto parts and service establishment. I fear they have lost their way. Closing the auto parts section and focusing on service. That being said, they aren't as focused on "Service" as they should be. I had my oil changed in November of last year. Since I'm retired I don't rack up a lot of miles. Took a trip to Sedona and back and the very next day I had a large oil puddle. Every time I parked there would be a puddle. I feared something serious was wrong with my Ram truck so I took it to the dealer. Quickly they saw it was a loose oil filter. The dealer charges $165 to diagnose a problem. They were nice enough to include an oil change ( I wasn't due for another 4000 miles). When I approached Pep Boys about this situation they just dismissed it. They didn't take responsibility for not installing the oil filter correctly. They will never see another dollar of mine. Just a warning to you: They don't like accepting responsibility. read more

Hello COVID-19. I visited on Christmas Eve to try to get an oil change. Staff tried to go into my vehicle to drive it into their work section, and came without a mask. When I stopped him and asked him to get a mask before going into the vehicle, it was another 3 minutes for the staff to find a mask before coming back. That was my sign to not have the work done. This morning I took my car for an oil change around 9:00 am I did not have an appointment but they took my car in after 15 minutes or so. I waited outside the store and I clearly saw when they took my car in and out of the shop, but because I was told that they would call me once the job is completed I kept on waiting until 45 minutes later I walked in the store and I asked what was going on and after they apologized I got my car keys and I drove to pick up my daughter then straight back to my house where I stopped on the street right in front of my driveway to let my daughter get off the car when she told me that the car was smoking a lot right after I just park my car in my garage and within 5 minutes a PUDDLE of oil was under the car. I called PEPBOYS right away and Ron answered the phone, I explained to him what was going on and he told me "do not move/drive the car anymore I will send a tow truck tomorrow morning to bring the car back to the PEPBOYS shop AND if it is NOT OUR problem THEY WILL charge ME with the towing and reviewing costs"! With that said, I was not given a choice of what to do since the there was only ONE option/solution which is only to PEPBOYS' convenience. Rather than Mr. Ron telling me that I was going to pay if it wasn't their problem he could have FIRST asked me if I have another vehicle to go to work tomorrow or if it was ok with me to wait for the tow truck tomorrow...he never asked me any of those questions, not even bothered in owning up to what could/is potentially their error/fault with my vehicle. bought a tire to get installed on my motorcycle at a motorcycle shop, and got the wrong one, Bought another tire 2 days later. Was told i could bring back the other new tire in unused condition for a refund. Assistant manageer said no it was my choose to carry out the other tire. what a rip off.
