So I went into Pep Boys in Norcross because this is where I used to go when I lived in Roswell and always had a good experience. This particular day I have to admit I was near tears after having gone to a private mechanic and being told my car required a brake pump. I had gone to Auto Zone at his recommendation and found out from them that a brake pump rarely needs to be replaced. Auto Zone did not know how to use the computer diagnostic tool to assess the ABS system on my car, so they sent me next door to NTB. NTB took all of the tires off of my car and proceeded to tell me that my brakes were rusted and I needed new brakes. My car is from Massachusetts. We use salt on our snow. Everyone's brakes there are rusty. I had only requested the diagnostic. They took off the tires and tried to sell me brakes, pads and rotors for all four wheels instead of what I asked for. I told them to put the tires back on; I had just driven from Massachusetts and my brakes were fine. So up the street I went to Pep Boys where I met Estaban. I don't know if he heard the frustration and fear in my voice or saw the tears creeping into my eyes, but this guy stepped up. Yes. They had the diagnostic tool and knew how to use it. Yes, they could get the part and it would be there the next day and they could fix it. He answered all of my questions about the safety of the car, listened to what I had been told and gave me solid advice. And most of all when he told me how much it was to run the diagnostic and I told him all I needed was confirmation that it was indeed the one thing on my ABS that I thought it was, he offered a solution rather than charge me over $100 for a test the car didn't need. After a very long day of lots of guys doing everything wrong, it felt good to have someone just do everything right. The following day (today) my belt fell off in the middle of the highway. My first call was to Pep Boys. It is always where I will go first from now on. They have been consistent with the cars I have had over the years living on the north side in Atlanta. I would gladly recommend them to everyone. And Estaban, I know you are reading this. Thank you, so much from the bottom of my heart. I was going home after a long day of work on a Monday and one of the hottest days yet, even for Atlanta. I noticed as I was driving that my air conditioner light was blinking on and off and my battery light was displayed. I tried to turn the air conditioner on and off hoping that this was not going to be an issue. Sure enough the car wasn't cooling down and battery light remained on. I pulled on I-85 onto the Jimmy Carter exit to an Advance Auto store. The clerk who was less that friendly walked me to my can to investigate. He instantly knew that one of the belts ont the car was broken. He said I could purchase the belt, he could not replace it. She suggested I go next door to Pep-Boys for further assistance. I knew as I approached Pep-Boys that it was only a few minutes before closing time. Luis Ramirez was at the counter and I explained my issue with the car. He walked around the counter and back to my car with me. He explained that I would need to replace the belt and asked if I could leave the car. I explained the Luis that my home was 50 miles in the opposite direction and I needed the car to get home. He said we are about to close but let me see what I can do. He walked back to the bay of the store and said they would stay open long enough to replace the broken belt. Let me say again the temperature was 93 at 5pm and the thought of getting back in the car and driving home was not pleasing to me. It took them 30 minutes after the closing time to replace the belt. As we all know, when it's time to go home thats what we do. I truly appreciate Luis and his team making certain I could make it home in the comfort of my air-conditioned car. I actually had an amazing customer service experience recently with this Pep Boys location. My daughter, son, and I were traveling from South Carolina to Florida when we experienced a blow out on I-85. As you can imagine with the traffic in Atlanta this was a trying situation to get the tire changed on the side of the rode. Once we completed the tire change I had to search for a place to purchase a new tire. I came across this Pep Boy on Jimmy Carter Blvd. The customer service I received was phenomenal! Specifically Retanza Grier went above and beyond in helping us in our difficult situation. Ms. Grier was compassionate and understanding and worked efficiently to get me and my children back on the road safely. Also, the service technician named "Luck" explained thoroughly what had happened to the tire and even rotated my other tires to compensate for the wear they were experiencing through an uneven balance. Repeatedly both employees expressed to me how they had children of their own and how concerned they were that my children and I got to our destiny in Florida safely. The level of service they gave is rarely seen in our society today. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a personal sense of customer service. Made an appointment for last Sunday. I pull up and the manager and assistant manager are about to fight they got there shirts off. They stop once I walk in the front door. Assistant manager came in apologized and was super polite and respectful despite being in a super heated about to fight type of argument but regardless his professional was great. They said I could drop the car off but the tech won't be there til Monday so instead of not having a car I told them I would drop it off at 8am the next day. I bring it in at 8am they said they only have 1 technician which is crazy but he still wasnt even there at 8-8:30. I came back at 4:30 to pick the car up and still wasn't even seen yet. That's crazy to me that you would have my work truck for 8 hrs and still not even look at it. The management in this place is running the business into the ground. No need for me to sit here and tell you how to manage cause I don't get paid for it. I took a full day off of work for you guys to not even look at the car. How many days were yall going to keep it ???? Disappointed forsure. This is the closet mechanic shop to me and no matter what I'll never bring any of my vehicles here again. read more

A few years back, probably make that about seven you couldn't go into an auto store without tripping over the after-market stuff. Air intakes, lights, etc. Then thanks to the internet Nopi went bust and everyone tried and hard and as fast as they could to dump the stuff off of there shelves because they couldn't compete with the prices out on the net. Well pep boys seems to be one of the few remaining local spots where you can get reasonably priced after-market items. Last saturday I must have gone to at least 5 different stores, O'Reilly's, Advance, etc. to find some super white interior bulbs for my car with no luck. I was about to give up but while I was close to Norcross decided to pop into Pep boys. 5 minutes or less I got what I needed and was back on the road. As a buddy of mine told me "never ride stock, stock sucks!" I'll be back Pep boys to pick up a few more items. read more

This Pep Boys was a blessing to me. I just graduated from college so it's a struggle right now but these guys worked with me, told me specifically what I needed and nothing more. Not only did they do an excellent job, they comforterted me in my time of stress. Don and the young lady, ReTanza, were phenomenal. Y'all made my morning awesome with y'all customer service as well as checking in as I waited to make sure everything was going fine. They got me in and out as fast as they could and took me step by step as far as what was going on an even allowed me to see the bad parts for myself with out me even requesting to see them. I stopped by the Pep Boys on Jimmy Carter to get a new set of tires after I had a flat. The service here was awesome! As soon as I walked through the door I was kindly greeted and assisted. They changed my tires and pointed out a few issues with my brakes that needed some attention. There was no pressure on getting the additional work done. Ask for Luis and you won't be disappointed. I have two reviews - one from Saturday 2/22 and one from today 2/26. On Saturday I got a set of tires. Since one was coming from another location and took quite a bit of time to arrive - Donald gave me a card for a free oil change. On today I went to get that oil change and coolant flush done. Great customer service! I came back from Savannah and had a nail while there. Another PepBoys repaired incorrectly with rope plug. The Norcross location was very informative in what Savannah location had done and what they proper way to repair a tire. Thomas had a great customer service. I dropped my tire off.
