Had breakfast, chorizo and egg tacos and bacon and egg tacos. They were mediocre. Guys, when you overcook eggs and burn them, please start over and made a good taco! My roommate raves about this place and their fish tacos all the time, so I finally went and tried them (on a Wednesday because they're a dollar on Wednesdays!!). And they were definitely worth her hype! They were packed with fish, lettuce, pico de gallo, and a creamy sauce and soooo good! And, only a dollar (on Wednesday)!! I will definitely be going back to try more of their menu. I brought my friend that doesn't even like fish tacos and on that day she came to love fish tacos. Compared to other places in the area, it is a strong contender, however I do have to say that I like Cabo Taco's fish tacos slightly more. But Pepe's were cheaper with Cabo Taco's being 1.50 on Wednesdays. The place is quaint, on the small side but with bright orange walls and real plants on the table. It feels very authentic inside with their a strong selection on their menu and an assortment of Mexican candy at the register. Our server was very friendly and our food came quick. Favourite place for fish tacos, and they have 99 cents on Wednesdays too! So worth it. I came here the first time with my boss for a work lunch, and immediately fell in love with their fish tacos because that's what she recommended to me. Growing up in an Asian culture, Mexican cuisine is not a thing. Until I came to California, and had my first taco ever. Even though Pepe's is one of my few, but definitely one of my favourite places to get tacos around the Azusa area. There was no wait when we went into the place at around 3pm for Taco Wednesday. I got three fish tacos and two lengua tacos (cow tongue tacos), but ended up giving one of the lengua tacos to my friend. She liked it, and that was her first time trying lengua. Definitely try the fish tacos if you're not about trying the cow tongue tacos. We also shared a horchata, and it's quite good. I'm definitely going to miss this place when I leave California. This place is a hidden gem! We live at the azusa green condos and are lucky to be walking distance to them. Honestly, they need to increase their prices. And I only say this bc as a business owner, we know how difficult it is to make a profit and would want to see them prosper and remain in business! My wife always gets the asada burrito and I always get the pastor burrito! Simply delicious! I have gotten tacos and the fish tacos. I am a quesadilla fiend, and this is easily a top 3 quesadilla I've ever had. They pack so much flavor in there with meat, cheese, lettuce, jalapenos, guacamole, and pico de gallo. Huge portions too. Meat is seasoned perfectly. Awesome cheese. I love it. Everything else I've had has been chronic as well. They have a large seafood selection. Fish tacos are on point. Had the shrimp burrito today and it was great. Prices are perfectly reasonable. One of the best hole in the wall restaurants I have discovered in all of LA. read more

My favorite place to eat chili Riano's. Throw some eggs on top and it's perfect. I also like the breakfast burritos and the fish fillets. Got the chorizo/egg burrito. It was definitely filling but mostly underwhelming. Usually I love chorizo, with its yummy, flavorful spices. This burrito was startlingly bland. Even just biting into the sections with more condensed chorizo didn't taste like much at all, so I know it wasn't just an issue of volume. I love potatoes as well but the ones in here were bland too. The green and red salsas are at least good and you definitely need them to jazz up the burrito. But even still, it just tastes like "compensation" and I unfortunately got bored of eating it before even getting to the halfway point. I do like the nice cinnamon touch they add to their coffees at least. Helps jazz up your standard joe. Service was also quick when I came in the morning. read more

I must've ordered the wrong thing because there are a lot of good reviews...I got a wet burrito with al pastor. It was VERY watery...usually when I get a wet burrito, the sauce is more of a sauce. The pastor wasn't bad but it wasn't something I'd order again. I have a feeling if I would've ordered a regular pastor burrito it would've been better? My grandma got a shrimp cocktail and she wasn't very happy with the juice. There wasn't too much shrimp either...my aunt got a wet burrito with carnitas and she was also not too happy with it. All were delish! They even brought up some complimentary chips and dippidy-do-das. My favorite was the shrimp taco. I ordered at the counter. The guy was very friendly, and patient while I decided what to order. The food was brought up to our table very quickly. We had a dog with us, so we sat outside. He even offered to bring our dog some water. I thought that was going the extra mile. The place was clean, inside, and even the outside seating (which sometimes gets overlooked). Being in a small strip mall, the atmosphere wasn't great, but it was a nice day to sit outside and have lunch. The value is good.
