Pepe's is one of the WORST restaurants that I've ever been to. I've gotten takeout from them multiple times just because my work provides food from there from time to time, but honestly, I would rather just pay for my own food from anywhere else. I've had their ravioli, eggplant parmigiana, roast beef sub, curly fries, and omelette. The pasta dishes not only taste terrible (Ragu tastes 100x better than Pepe's tomato sauce), but they are also completely covered in a blanket of melted mozzarella, which had hardened by the time I received my food. I wish I had taken a picture--it's pretty horrific how they just put this THICK layer of chewy cheese on top of the pasta. The roast beef sub was pretty mediocre, but they did provide a lot of meat. Curly fries tasted good but were stale. Now the omelette. Here is a picture of my omelette and FRIES. The scrambled egg mixture tasted okay at best, and the "fries" made me feel like an old person who isn't wearing their dentures or like someone who just had their wisdom teeth removed. If you ever go to a terrible restaurant that leaves you wondering how anything could be worse than that, give Pepe's a try. I think it will exceed your wildest expectations. read more

first impression always matters! Just walking into the door I was drawn to the cashiers smile that took my order, she was very pleasant and made the process easy and times less! Now let's get to the food.... my order was ready in no time and I was very pleased to say it was hot and fresh! Presentation means everything by that being said my food was nothing more then perfectly put together as I hate when anything I order is just slapped on and served. I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend and most definitely be revisiting "Pepe's". My job orders from Pepe's all the time for faculty meetings and birthday celebrations. Their pizza is so good. I love the veggie pizza the best. Its best to eat the pizza fresh, as soon as it gets to the building, otherwise it gets a little soggy. They have good wings and potato wedge fries too. Today, a few of my coworkers and I ordered some buffalo wings because the cafeteria closed early today. The wings had the perfect amount of spice. The sauce was amazing. Look I have been going to Pepes for several years. I really like their breakfast and it's a decent place for pizza, Subs and Wings. Exactly what you'd expect....but let me fill you in on a couple of hidden gems... 1. Shrimp Salad is great! Large shrimp and very tasty 2. Turkey Noodle soup is always on the menu and it is good homemade style Turkey noodle they obviously made on site 3. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake is really very good. 10.99....it's a steal. They really use lump and it won't disappoint. It rivals G&M and PAPas. It's a tad bit smaller, think baseball vs Softball but you will be surprised with the quality vs Price. read more

After living in the neighborhood for over 3 years, I have finally gotten around to reviewing Pepe's. I have visited around 15 times. What keeps bringing me back? The pizza!!! It is really really good. Order any pizza they have, it will taste great. It is a tad too greasy, but I still like it. However this place has major problems. #1 - Parking is HORRENDOUS. Yes they have the extra lot over by the ice cream place but even that is horrible. If you go there, you have about a 75 percent chance of having to deal with some kind of parking stress. #2 - They employ the most unhappy people in Baltimore. Look next time you walk in, no one ever smiles and they just don't give a crap about you. Someone seems to always be arguing with someone and the cooks in the back seem to always be staring blanking out from the back. It's so weird, it creeps me out. #3 - If you order anything to go or stand to wait for your food, you are always in the way of other people. This is due to the poorly designed entrance and waiting area. They just renovated the place, you think they would have designed it to handle this but unfortunately not. #4 - This is only me whining here but the pizza always takes a long time to make. One time I ordered a slice of cheese and pepperoni and it took 30 minutes, at lunch time. You think they would have cheese and pepperoni always ready to go, but this is what makes their pizza great that it's made to order so no stars removed for this one. #5 - Their drink machine is busted or almost empty 1/4 of the time. Someone needs to monitor that thing more regularly. As low as this review is, I'll still go back because I really love their pizza. If you go in expecting all the things that suck about this place, it makes the experience much greater. read more

So, I used to order carry out at least once a week here. Lately service has been slow and orders received are missing items (salad dressings, sauces). The latest was a sub made incorrectly. I picked it up and got home and noticed it was not what I ordered. I called and was told that they could deliver one but it would take 90 minutes. I said that is not acceptable and I would drive back and they should refund me the cost. They said bring the sub back to prove it was wrong and that I could have a dessert or bottle of soda. Really? Prove it was wrong? Yes I want to miss dinner with my family to drive back there. I explained my time and inconvenience of driving back for their error is deserving of a refund or a credit. I was talking to some teenager behind the counter when i got there and just said only thing is to grab a soda. I don't drink soda was said multiple times. This place is void of any customer service. The mistake was on the kitchen, not my error or the cashiers error. They never asked for the sub I brought back either yet made it a point that I had to bring it. So for a $6.95 refund I would still be a customer. I'd rather go to a place further away with better service. They get by because of lack of competition. I told my wife she can still order if she wants, but I am done and not dealing with the incompetent teens that "run" the front. read more

My entire family & my in-laws have patronized your establishment for many years, from before you were known as Pepe's. We have been ordering from you at least 2 to 3 times a week for the past 29 years, but within the past month the customer service has declined to the point that I feel as if I can get better service from McDonalds. I agree with the lower reviews. We recently stopped in for turkey sandwiches that we used to eat all the time. It had been awhile since our last visit. There was only four little slices of turkey and lettuce twice the amount of meat given. The rye bread was not as fresh also. We used to recommend this place but not anymore. Nothing special anymore. I hope they will make a change back to the way it used to be. We felt a real disappointment since I recommended eating here. The family owned atmosphere has gone away. UB Update...I received a response from the owner Andy. He was really concerned about my review and sandwich. He offered me a gift card for future use but I offered to stop in later that day since I work nearby. His people were expecting me and made me the best corned beef sandwich I have ever had. I dream about their greek salad. Is that weird? Well it's the truth, so I'll embrace it and scream it from the rooftops: I DREAM ABOUT PEPE'S GREEK SALAD! There, I said it. Every time I go to a pizza/sub shops I consider getting a greek salad. Almost every time it's either a huge disappointment or an even huger disappointment. Why can't they take a lesson from Pepe's?? Crisp iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red onion slices, greek olives, pepperoncinis, feta cheese, and the best homemade greek dressing thats wonderfully acidic and combines with the saltiness of the feta cheese for the perfect bite. I ordered fried chicken that was ready in the warmer and I waited more than 15 minutes while those who ordered pizza and other kitchen meals after me received their food. The chicken was not good and had definitely been sitting there all day. I had to ask for my chicken and the ladies did not seem bothered that others had been served long before me. I regret going and because of the horrible parking, I got blocked in and could not escape. It was a sign to definitely never go back. If I want chicken, I will go to Royal Farms just down the road. The aspects of this place that stand out is the staff. There is a lot of back and forth banter, yelling, accusations, and playful arguing. They tend to neglect the orders to serve their thier conflicts and miscommunications. I ordered a veggie melt. I stood there for a half hour waiting for it. I saw a dozen sandwiches come before mine. The yelling of orders from the cash register to the cook staff is not the most efficient and reliable system. Their menu is redicious in the fact that they must have hundreds menu options. Seriously. The options here really cover many ethnicities and combinations. Overall, not the best place for date night or hanging with kids. But, a good stop if you are looking to grab something to please everyone. My food was not overly greasy. I was satisfied with an 8" sub and fries. Pepe's has some pros, but some cons also. The one big pro is that their stromboli is HUGE. Like, dinner for 3 people. You basically pick things off the menu, and they make it for you. The crust is crisp and the price is amazing for the portion size. They are in a convenient location, though the parking isn't (see the cons). Their other offerings are good, though the portions aren't quite as generous. Now to the cons: The parking in front of the restaurant is a little cramped. However, there's extra parking right next door. The dining area experience is not the greatest. There's a really loud and annoying buzzer and announcement every time an order come out, and it really ruins the atmosphere. read more

The crust is OK...a little too doughy for my liking but could have been saved by the toppings...that didn't happen. The broccoli was all (frozen?!) stalks--no heads. The sauce is aggressively sweet.
