We were looking for a place to eat along Colfax, and saw that this place seemed to be hopping. There was a steady line of people coming in to pick up their takeout orders, so we figured that had to be a sign that the food was good, and it did not disappoint. I orders the General Tso's Chicken. I liked their twist on it by adding in broccoli and bell peppers to the mix. The sauce was a bit lighter in flavor than I am used to, and not that typical deep red color, but it was still delicious nonetheless. The chicken was very crispy, and the portion sizes were generous. I had enough to bring home for lunch. My partner order the Drunken Noodle, which he devoured quickly. Luckily I was able to sneak a few bites. The noodle texture was great, and the chicken and vegetables were cut at appropriate sizes that made the dish feel cohesive. It had a very punchy basil flavor, which I really enjoyed. Upon entering, there is a bar area with a bit of seating and a separate dining room. It wasn't too loud, and the restaurant felt welcoming, especially with the delicious aromas of the kitchen wafting through the place. Giving 4 stars because this by far the best Asian food i have found in Denver. It defiantly doesn't hold a candle to the amazing Thai and Chinese restaurants I loved in Chicago but, better and more reasonably priced than others I have tried. I got the Mongolia Beef based in all the rave reviews. I would agree with the reviews, the beef is extremely tender and flavorful. My only complaint is there were way too many onions and would have been better if broccoli was added. The crab cheese wonton were typical. They come with a sweet sauce. My husband got Basil chicken fried rice which is his go to at any Thai restaurant. I ordered it Medium for him and he said it was too spicy. read more

This is by far my favorite place to order Asian food in the city. We get a mix of Chinese and Thai style dishes like beef and broccoli, pad se ew, General Tso's, etc; everything is always fresh and delicious. I thought it was just okay, but in their defense it was Christmas Eve and they were packed! I went with a group of 10 and we had reservations and were seated right away. They were willing to do separate checks which was appreciated. After our orders were taken, one person in the group got her meal before any of us got our appetizers and she questioned if it was for her and they said yes. However, after she took a couple of bites, they came back and took it away because it was for someone else. When they delivered the right food they had no idea which dishes went with which person, so it was a little chaotic with 10 people. I've never actually been to the restaurant, but I may or may not have ordered delivery twice this week already. I can speak for 4 menu items: Mongolian Chicken, Orange Chicken, Crab Rangoons, and Fresh Rolls. Let's get started! Mongolian Chicken: Tasty. I love onions and this really hit the spot. No complaints at all. Orange Chicken: OBSESSED! This is the best orange chicken I've had since a spot in the Delmar Loop in STL. You can actually taste the orange flavor with this one! So many others just tasted like sweet and sour with an orange slice on top, but not this one. They get the spice levels just right as well. But the best part is that it's crispy on the outside and there's actual meat on the inside that isn't dried out. Have I said how obsessed I am with the orange chicken? If I could say one thing, I would say I would prefer to just have the chicken with a small side of veggies instead of a third of the container being veggies, but that's only because I'm obsessed. Crab Rangoons: These are just okay. Not bad, but not great either. The mustard sweet and sour is... interesting. Fresh Rolls: Disclaimer: I'm not a shrimp fan, so I usually pull them out, but these are really good and hit the spot every time. The star of this dish though is the peanut sauce. It's highly addictive. I've tried a couple times to make it myself and it's just not as good. I don't know what they put in it, but you WILL want more. I've tried almost every Asian/Chinese place in Denver, and Pepper Asian Bistro is by far and away the best I've found and I'm pretty darn picky. I haven't been to the actual restaurant, since I ordered through Uber Eats, so for food to be this good being delivered, I can't imagine how great it is at the actual place! UPDATE: I decided to stop at the restaurant on my way home from a doctor's appointment and just when I didn't think it could get better, it DID! The service is wonderful, the staff are very friendly, and the food when it's right from the kitchen is phenomenal. This will now be my regular stop after my bi-weekly appointments. read more

My favorite Chinese food place in town. Shoot, one of my favorite restaurants anywhere in fact. Been lucky enough to live nearby for most of the past years, but when I wasn't in the area, would willingly drive out of my way to get a meal here. Everything I have had here has been awesome, and I've probably hit up at least half the menu. Everything has been delicious. Great serving portions, wonderful crunchy wontons, spicy and filling soups, and perfectly done noodles. The dining area is clean, cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I love this place! I've come to the restaurant for dinner and have ordered take out. Both times the food has been great with awesome options. The service was great when we dined in and for take out our order was hot when we got home. From the times we've had it- we ordered Orange Chicken, general tso's, hot and sour soup, wanton soup, pot stickers, and chicken dumplings with spicy sauce. The spicy sauce isn't actually spicy which I love because it's so good and I don't enjoy spicy foods. As for the chicken dishes, those were delicious! I love that the orange chicken doesn't have that super artificial flavor. I love the potstickers! I hadn't had any of this style since leaving the east coast so it's nice to find a place that does different types of dumplings so well! I will definitely be back soon. I've done takeout a million times at this central location on Colfax but today I decided to eat in person with a friend. We had an early dinner around 4:30pm and we had sesame tofu and sesame chicken. Both dishes were amazing and fresh. The customer service was also superb, all the waiters were attentive and quick. The environment was calm and inviting as well. I can confidently say that most everything on their menu is delicious. Especially the side noodles, that's always a good choice! It took a minute for the servers to identify that we were there for dinner since it wasn't an actually full service bar ... just a couple of the servers running from the kitchen to behind the bar. They did mention they were hectic since they had a large party that not. Menu was a typical Chinese menu with all the typical Chinese options with a few Thai, Vietnamese, and other Asian choices. We ordered fresh spring rolls to start. It came with a peanut sauce that had an odd after taste - almost like fishy after taste. Was a bit disappointed since I love peanut sauce. The dishes are pretty big! And it comes with a small bowl of rice. The beef was very good. I would say the onions were a bit overkill in there but I enjoyed what I had. Pepper has become one of my favorite new places close to me. They do an insane takeout business so be prepared to wait a little bit to be seated if you are walking in. The Yushan shrimp and Happy Family are two of my favorites here. Both come in the brown sauce that I seek out and they will accommodate requests for brown rice. When I went in the summer, I enjoyed their mojitos. Freshly made with real pineapple in a pineapple mojito! Very sweet though. I ordered from Pepper Asian Bistro once upon a time, approximately a million years ago, and then for whatever reason, regrettably never revisited that choice. So last Sunday evening, after a day of laboring I caved on ordering in dinner (quite late) and didn't have a ton of options. I decided to order from Pepper, and I was certainly glad I did. I got the Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Tofu, Pork Lo Mein, and Yushan Eggplant. I then mixed up the rice options to go with (white, brown, and fried). Everything was delicious. The Mongolian Beef was well-flavored and unbelievably tender (it stayed that way even with re-heating). The KungPao tofu packed a nice punch and was balanced with vegetables. The Yushan Eggplant though was the star of the show...Wow. It was silky, garlicky, and everything you could want from eggplant. I was even eating it cold out of the container later, it was that crazy delicious. The Lo Mein while it had a nice stretchy chew to it, was perhaps a little uneventful in terms of seasoning/veg. Pepper allows you to upgrade a side item to plain lo mein, and I think next time that might be the perfect compromise for me. Finally, I will note that the fried rice side was pretty heavy on the white pepper, so in the off chance that's not your thing, (like me), be aware. Pepper does their own delivery too, which was honestly just what I needed to not feel bad about the order (read: no Grubhub fees). The portions were enormous (each entree could probably serve two people), and affordable. I was pretty enthusiastic with the vegetable focused options too, which is always a plus. this is the highest-rated Asian delivery around me so I gave it a shot. The menu is really broad-reaching from Chinese to Thai, to Japanese. I think that broad appeal is why it gets such high ratings, you can get pretty much anything you'd want from them. Food-wise my delivery was fine, pot-stickers were the highlight. Value for money with portions was very good I got a lot of for what I paid. Quality was 3-stars. I would order from here especially if we had a large group that wanted a lot of things. Pepper Asian Bistro is a decent Chinese food restaurant located conveniently off of Colfax. It's not terribly authentic, but who doesn't enjoy a tasty plate or sesame chicken? This place isn't usually packed but expect some wait because their take out game is off the charts. The staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend the garlic chicken with egg plant, sesame chicken, and the satay chicken. The dishes are cheaper during lunch, but the dinner menu is also very reasonably priced. I love both Pepper Asian Bistro locations. The Colfax location can be a little tricky to find parking but it is worth the search. One of my favorite dishes is the green curry with tofu. It is so perfectly seasoned and the serving is enough that I got three meals out of my last order. The lunch veggie egg rolls are small but delicious and I always enjoy that as a little treat. Saturday, we'd not planned our dinner, so we decided to get some delivery from Pepper Asian Bistro. My wife said she wasn't that hungry, so I prepared my order and then handed my phone to her, and she ordered some things. That's how it goes sometimes right? Anyway, I ordered the Mongolian Eggplant and 6 Chicken Dumplings in Hot Sauce, both of them Thai Hot. Which I'll get to in a minute. My wife got Hunan Chicken and Miso Soup. The enjoyed her Hunan Chicken and miso soup. I thought the hunan chicken was pretty decent. She then stole a chicken dumpling while I was video conferencing with a friend. I warned her that it was going to be spicy. If you order anything from Pepper Asian Bistro, and get it Thai Hot, you may want to order another face as well because it will burn your current one completely off. I was able to eat one dumpling and about a half cup of my Mongolian Eggplant before mine melted off my chin. My wife told me never to order devil's dumplings again. It did have a lot of flavor though. The jalapenos seemed even hotter than normal, but the eggplant was just what I wanted. I did manage to finish my meal later on. I'm not sure if time made it less spicy or I manned up and my tolerance for spicy foods got kicked up a notch. Would definitely order from here again and will probably get Thai Hot dishes again, but not tell my wife.... read more
