The best place for hot sauces. They my brother and cousin bring in their own food to try the hottest pepper in the world.

Went in expecting to browse, and came out with 7 of their products. Great product, and great customer service.

I had celebrated there the year before and had such a wonderful experience, so I was really looking forward to returning. Unfortunately, this visit fell very short of our previous experience. The atmosphere upstairs on such a beautiful evening was lovely, and I appreciated being seated there. However, the service throughout the night was extremely disappointing. There appeared to be only two bartenders also handling serving duties, and from the moment we arrived, we felt poorly greeted. Our waitress never introduced herself, offered drink recommendations, or created much of a welcoming experience at all. It took at least 10 minutes just to receive water for the table, and much longer for cocktails. Service felt very disorganized throughout the evening. When food arrived, dishes were essentially auctioned off at the table as though no one knew who had ordered what. One guest in our party didn't even receive her appetizer until after her entrée had already arrived. What made the experience more disappointing was how different it felt from our visit the previous year. At that time, our server was energetic, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely engaging. He asked what we were celebrating and even brought out a complimentary dessert for the table to share, which made the night feel special and memorable. I understand restaurants can have off nights, especially with large parties, but this experience lacked the level of hospitality and organization we had previously enjoyed and expected.

We had a great server and customer service was great-- the problem area was the food. We ordered the same thing we always get Korean wings, cauliflower bites, crab rice, and bang bang shrimp. Long story short, I want our money back or a better experience. The cauliflower bites were so small and broken down it could've been made into rice. Flavor was phenomenal but the cauliflower was definitely missing and just seemed like batter in a bowl. The bang bang shrimp-- y'all need to use large 16-20 shrimp with texture and serve them whole (proof they used to be see previous reviews video). Also they were small pieces and fried way too hard-- so CHEWY! The fact that they're now chopped into little pieces and fried is crazy, it takes away from the entire dish and again, you're eating fried batter mostly. The Korean wings?! The first time we had this they were glazed, flavorful, charred, and sticky with sauce (see previous photos). This sauce was runny, thin, and slid right off of the wings and left it flavorless and I had to ask for more sauce to get through it. My husband never leaves any wings behind and we left two. I was really disappointed in the inconsistency of the food and it just didn't land well for me. I'm upset.

Where can I find it in Charlotte? I pinged them on their website chat this week and asked where it is for sale. They suggested Savory Spice and since I haven't been there (another review!), I made it this morning at opening time. Yes, they're open on Christmas Eve. Other than the honey, lots of spices organized by region. Grilling spices. Baking spices. Cocktail spices. Prices clearly marked and everything displayed for easy browsing. Pretty much everything you need to add flavor to whatever you're cooking. And yes, Cloister Honey! Savory Spice is on the north side of Atherton Mill, next to O-Ku. My dad likes the same but he prefers the coconut rice. I like how they allow you to sample the items on the line and even suggest combinations that you might enjoy. I also like how they have both non spicy and spicy items. The only thing that stands out as odd to me is my sister stopped by one day and picked up an order for me. She noticed a worker or someone associated with the restaurant come in and start eating off the hot food line. Not sure if they washed their hands or not but she was alarmed by this behavior. The restaurant gave us BOTH mostly chicken to save on cost and there was barely any beef. See hubby's order and it is ALL chicken (WHICH SHOULDN'T EVEN BE IN THERE !) and just a couple of pieces of beef. In fact, when they brought it to the table, even the waitress thought it was chicken until the (manager?) pointed to some beef under the noodles. One: this should be on the menu as beef & chicken if they are going to do this. Two: this is deception. For this reason I took off a star from my last visit (which was 3 stars because their curry was like a soup instead of an entree - I didn't like it either.) The fried pork pot stickers ($9) were very good. Their chicken wings appetizer with Thai BBQ Sauce ($12) were very good. The Thai tea was good and served in a cute mug. We sat in a booth, which was nice. However, the table next to us had a huge hole in the seat of the material in that booth. My opinion is that the owner does not put effort into the food or the restaurant trying to save money. In my opinion, they are participating in deceptive practices by the substitution of chicken for beef dishes due to cost (see photos for evidence). The waitress was nice. I recommend going elsewhere for Thai food.
