We spent a few hours watching the NBA finals buying food and drinks last night at the upper bar in the sports bar area. This couple went by complaining that we weren't using the video machines and complained to the manager after we had spent a decent amount of money on food and drinks. The manager promptly asked us to move and the rude husband that wanted our seats said "I'm going to mess you up" to my husband. As we were standing, watching the final few minutes of the game, a nice woman that was sitting next to us came by to tell us how wrong that was. Update: I spoke to a manager at the Peppermill on the phone and he assured me he would look into how that happened and use it as a training opportunity as it was not their policy for paying patrons. This place had some great highlights but the overall feel was just meh to me. Maybe I'm just not about that casino life...but things that rubbed me the wrong way were mainly the facilities and amenities that close way too early for a place like this or were just inconvenient. You can't get more credits for video games at the arcade after 11pm WFT?! Pool closes at 9pm WTF?! The one hallway back to our west wing room blocked by drunken club goers WTF?!?!? Here I am reviewing again. I'm always here 2-3 times a year. I'm in the peppermill tower as of right now level 4 in the NON-SMOKING. I got two kids. 2 year old and a 5 year old...the hallway smells like marijuana and it's as if it went inside our rooms also! Not a good time this visit, asked to upgrade to Tuscany but they said they were sold out, but I heard another employee offered it to someone else. Didn't want to argue there and ruin our vacation so I settled with the peppermill tower non smoking which didn't go as expected. Please go to a smoking floor if your going to smoke! read more

Disappointing. The food at our conference was terrible. The accommodations were terrible. The pillows were bad and bed was hard. It was a maze to get to our room in north tower and we had to carry suitcase up stairs to get to our room. The hotel has red windows in the conference area. Feels like Oz. Me and my husband have been wanting to stay at the peppermill for since we got married.  We got married in may 2015. We both were working and weren't able to schedule a honeymoon.  This year we decided we wanted to stay there for our 2nd anniversary. However in May.. my husbands work schedule might be difficult for him to take time off around the time we'd go...so we decided to do it in March.  I read that you can get better rates closer to the day....however the weeknight we chose ended up being a lil busy... so we ended up getting a smoking room. We wanted one with a Jacuzzi. We do not smoke. I  was worried the room would be too smokey. We did ask if they happened to have another of the same room available (just in case they had a cancellation). They didn't.  It actually wasn't that bad.  They have air purifiers in the rooms.   Of course the bed did have a smoke smell .. just a lil. And a burn in a chair and on the carpet.  But it could have been worse.  It was our fault for not just booking a room the day before we did.  Next time we will definitely book a room sooner.  Even stay two nights instead of one.  The price is not bad...We looked into the Atlantis..their Jacuzzi rooms are at least a 100$ more no matter the days. If you're living in Reno... and looking for a place to stay...definitely pick Peppermill over Atlantis. Also locals get 20% of the rooms.  Loved the shower...stays hot. The shower has a sauna. Only was able to handle that for a few minutes though..it helped my sinuses,  that's for sure.  The Jacuzzi....it has a whirlpool.  Which felt so nice.  I do miss it. It was my fav part of the room.  We did order room service.  We spilt a cheeseburger(weren't that hungry had eaten something already)...room service is pretty pricey. The lil fridge wasn't stocked. Which was good. And no snacks... Again..good. They had a kerugi coffee maker with one green tea available, two coffees. One decaf. The cups are small so the coffee was strong. Bed was comfortable...they needed to fix the frame though... every move made me think it was going to fall apart. TV was nice. We decided to go to the arcade. We had two coupons for 10$ free for 10$ spent. So my husband did 20$..so we got 20$ free. Its a fun arcade.  We ended up with 2500 tickets because of claw machines that had tickets. My only complaint in that area was a female employee ...she was kind of grumpy when we wanted them added to our card so we didn't have to carry around the tickets. When we decided to go and get prizes another happy employee helped...which made up for the grumpy one.  Also the guy who first helped us was nice. I understand not liking your job...but still..you need to try and be pleasant. If it wasn't for the other two employees, I'd consider not going back there because of her. I will say all the other employees throughout the hotel/casino we interacted with were nice and helpful.   The room was clean. My main problem was a found a lil thing in the bathroom saying "we do not change out sheets and beding unless requested becaude of energy saving.. do it by requesting at check out, or putting this on the pillows"(unless they met something else, but didn't think they did..) that isn't an issue if the other customers didn't sleep in the bed. I get not washing the blankets everytime.. they make it so you don't even need to touch the blanket.  ..but sheets and pillow cases should always be swapped with clean ones. I had pink eye..it was pretty much going away..... I took my pillow cases off ... just to make sure they didn't just leave them. We didn't go to the pool. Next time we definitely will.   We were going to go to oceano. But I'm not a fan of seafood..my husband thought they'd have more then seafood(I knew they wouldn't). They should definitely merge that one with normal food.  We probably would have gone.... read more

You have to remember you're in Reno. Why are you in Reno again? Of all the casinos in Reno, the Peppermill is going to be your best shot. Not at winning anything, but at not getting grossed out by the casino itself and the people inside. I wasn't sure what to expect in this town. THIS IS FOR A CATERED DINNER review. I came here with family for a large local event that was held in the Toscany Ballroom and was catered. The service was just ok, the sound kept going out on the microphone holding up the event quite a bit, and the food was terrible. It was a chicken pasta dish and the chicken was so dry! Then, later that evening I as well as the rest of my party became ill. So if you are thinking of having an event here, I would look elsewhere for sure! read more

I dont particularly like this casino for its gaming atmosphere because I am not a fan of blue lights and cave like feel. They have a similar ambience at the Atlantis. The whole gaming floor is mostly lit with blue lights that I find exhausting to my eyes. The set up is like you are meandering from one area to another almost like your in a cave. So why do I rate this casino so highly. What features could negate all the negative features aforementioned??? Two things Biscotti and Maggie Scott. Biscotti's Sunday Brunch is excellent. Here you will find properly thawed and prepared large shrimp cocktail. YOu can savor fresh perfect sized oysters with totally NO gaminess whatsoever. You also get hugh, prescored top grade crab legs. This is accompanied by other added pairing such as wide variety of greens for your salad , cheese plate that offers more than the usual types , various cooked dishes. BUT the star of the brunch is the fresh seafoods. What can I say about Maggie Scott but to echo her favorite greeting...CHEERS. I had known her for more than 4 years. She is ever healpful and unlike other hosts who would use all tactics to make you spend more money she always tell you to find some time to relax, enjoy the casino facilities and get enough rest and sleep. I think she has been promoted and I have not interacted with her for several months but when I did recently it was like there was no lull whatsoever. My wife and I go here about 3-4 times a year. We LOVE the Tuscany Tower rooms !!!! Beautifully done.. The tub is plenty big for two people if you choose. I love the jets in the tub, super relaxing. The restaurants are really good too.... We've never had a bad meal there all the years we've been going there. And of course, go from Sunday through Thursdays to get the rooms way cheaper! read more

I've stayed here a few times - the rooms are very nice, if not a little over the top on the old Europe theme. They can lose the touch sensitive snack tray and improve the classiness a bit more. I go for the casino, which is a treat for the eyes. Not your typical boring interior. Slot machines have been fairly generous. They used to advertise that all slots were above 93% payback. This claim is now absent, so I hope they don't go stingy. The only reason I drive the extra distance to get here is the "loose slots". One leaves having a better experience if they feet their money didn't disappear too quickly in the slots. This is the place to go. Honestly if you want great food/drinks/big super clean room/and lots of entertainment this is your ticket. Honestly, yes, it's going to cost a few dollars more than the other places, but if you want a great place, then a few dollars more isn't anything to gripe about. As far as food options go, they have it all. From the higher price, but super amazing food options, to simple stuff like a Cafe (west coast term for diner) and a sandwich bar. Lets just say they put a lot of effort into the interior of this building. It's worth going to visit and be entertained. read more

This is my favorite hotel in Reno. The hotel is luxurious, clean, spacious, and affordable. The food from the buffet is delicious. The rooms are clean and well maintained. I stayed in the Tuscany Suite location of the hotel. The room had an mattress encasement over the mattress, to protect its customers from unwanted insect bites. The staff provided quality customer service. Thus, the spa is gorgeous. I received the best hot stone massage at the spa. I will definitely return to this hotel again later on this year. read more

Our last stay at the Peppermill was lovely. We really loved our room, it was clean, great space, incredibly comfortable bed in good location. Loved the steam shower! The service was really good, and I even got my husband to spend some time in the spa before a massage. The gym was great, and the steam room in gym is wonderful. This is our favorite restaurant in Reno! Great food, large portions at reasonable prices located in the Peppermill Resort and Casino. During the week, they have a special Comfort menu (last page of menu book) that has great prices for breakfast or lunch/dinner entrees. We love their Meat Lovers Omelet and Mama's Fried Chicken the best. Add a salad for $2 and it is a great meal that fills you up! Come hungry! Ask for Ashley or Jose for breakfast and Quin (pronounced "Chin") for dinner. All their servers are great, but these three stand out as the best. It is worth the visit! read more

I wish we had never stayed here, wifi only worked in one corner of the room. The room smelled like smoke and was right next to a parking lot. Our bathtub did not plug so we called the front desk, 45 minutes later they came and fixed it but left the bathroom a muddy mess. Then 25 minutes after that another guy came and tried to drop off another plug, while we were trying to sleep. Not to mention the fact that I slid and fell walking to my room on a huge puddle of water that covered the hallway. I understand that the rooms that connected directly to the casino had less problems however if you are in the West wing which is a detached building the quality is pretty bad considering the reviews and hype about the hotel. One of the worst experiences of my life happened outside a woman's restroom in this hotel, my parents sat in chairs outside of the restrooms while I went in. They had been seated for 1 minute at most and there were at least a dozen people seated for longer around them when a security guard came over and harassed them, he demanded room keys and room number and accused them of loitering. Upon my parents protesting that they had as much right to be there as everyone else in the hallway the guard was overly arrogant and aggressive about his right to demand room keys after watching the 24 hour cameras around the hotel and yet it took 30 minutes for us to flag down someone to help us with water on the floor that we stopped no less than 25 people from falling including my elderly grandparents and several small children. Overall I would never stay here again and I do not suggest anyone reading this review should either. read more

We popped in to visit my father last weekend. He's been in town on business and I wanted to brings the kids by go see their grandpa. He was in town for the week I couldn't let him get away without a day and the pool with his grandsons. The whole day was so much fun just relaxing and hanging around the hotel all day. The pool was Tuscan themed making our time there feel a bit exotic. My father and I watched the boys splash around while we had a drink poolside and laid out under the sun. Called down to the front desk a couple times to ask questions and inquire about places to eat. Both staff members were welcoming to my visit the hotel and answered all my questions. read more

Although I only have a handful Yelp check-ins here my relationship with the Peppermill dates back to the 1970s! Let's face it; it's a casino. When I'm winning its the happiest place on earth! When I'm losing....it's not. Smoky at times yes but they offer a large non-smoking slots area. Tons of options to cry in my cocktails (or grab a bite) when Lady Luck is not on my side. Dinning/Drinking options- * Oceano - Great all you can eat sushi. Bread basket it amazing. Recently had the spicy tuna burger YUM! If you head there for lunch ask to be seated in Hanna's section -- she's the best! Edwin does amazing sushi at the bar! * Biscotti - Great Sunday brunch! * Terrace Lounge - If you game you drink for free. Great happy hour plus live music. * Cafe Milano - It's basically the old coffee shop offering LARGE breakfasts 24/7, Chinese food, salads, sammies, burgers, etc. -- you name it, it is on their menu! Ask to be seated in Jovanny's station; he always give great service!!!! I kinda miss the LARGE PEPPERMILLS from the 70s! * Cafe Espresso - Great for a grab and go meals! * Sport Deli - Offers hot dogs the size of my forearm. Great for sharing a quick bite! * Fireside Lounge - It's like it's 1975 in here! A very retro bar with an indoor fire pit! Nice drinks and good wine list. Free appetizers during happy hour. Ok I still don't get the dumplings and pickles but I ate it! Reno locals get a 20% discount on all the above with players card and local id! Yes, I'm a local but I've stayed in the hotel! The old tower had large rooms with equally as large Italian furniture in it. The room are always clean and have everything you need. Beware of the mini bar -- spendy and sensored--so reading the nutritional information on the can of Pringles could cost you! The Tuscan Tower Balcony Suites are HUGE! with two king size beds, large desk, table for two, large bathroom with a small shower and a balcony. Please note our Mountain View room had no view of the mountains just the Lakeside apartments! Extremely comfy place to stay! Spa - I finally made it there on New Year's Eve. Upon check in they confirm your treatment including price and tip! I loved that they included the tip; this way there no need to break the Zen mode post massage to figure out what tip is required. Locals can use their 20% discount -- just have your players card and local id! There are several waiting lounges all with hot/cold tubs, steam rooms, snacks, drinks, etc. read more

But if you don't mind that kind of thing then you'll enjoy the giant tv screens everywhere with soothing pictures of babbling brooks and snow capped mountains to make you think you're not in a dirty and dated casino. Beautiful rooms, lots of places to gamble, eat, smoke and even a club to party at. Why one star? These bastards are extremely RACIST. No really. I'm appalled at the attitude by some of the people that work at the casino. However Eric and Victor at the downstairs bar close to Oceano were very sweet. It was one of the cocktail waitresses that I did not appreciate. Her attitude and screaming at us for playing roulette in the same manner as everyone else was rude as all hell. We also booked our room online for the Tuscany Tower. Tell me why the first room we went to looked like a run-down motel? Avoid 8th floor. We went downstairs to remedy that fact, and we were sent to the 9th floor which looked more like what we paid for according to the website. Everything was such a hassle at this hotel. Even when we put the "do-not disturb" sign on our door, the damned housekeeping ladies opened it OVER FIVE TIMES and we had to scream "NO WE ARE SLEEPING!!" There were no chains on our door to lock them out and it was just plain disrespectful how they kept trying to open our door in order to rush us out! It wasn't even 12pm YET! We had a late check-out at 2pm, and they still kept trying to rush us out... unimaginable service practices! I was honestly shocked. Circus Circus I'm sure would've had better service and cheaper rates! Peppermill was just simply exhausting to cope with. I am thoroughly disappointed with their perception of what "service" is. Their managers may need a lesson in what that is! The restaurants are horrible as well. Don't even bother with Club Edge. Review to come in detail. This place has relentless security who think they are allowed to put their hands on women. I was basically RUSHED by the security here and their 6 ft tall security group of 7 men surrounded me a - 130 little girl, a guy grabbed my arm & told me they saw me on camera being offensive towards one of their employees in a parking lot - Might I elaborate on that "offensiveness" - one of their employees was driving about 30MPH inside a parking garage when I was crossing the roadway area they were coming down & refused to slow down or stop while I walked across their path... They were within feet of hitting and potentially killing me & after I made my way across and the employee passed they laid on their horn as if I should've gotten out of their way??? So yes I flipped them off because I do not know how anyone else learned to drive but Im pretty sure pedestrian no matter where they are - have the right away... Any how as I walked back into the casino a man grabbed my arm from behind me and scared me so I pulled my arm back and said "dont touch me" as any women would say being grabbed by someone from behind - this man then proceeded to tell me I am trespassing because I was obscene to an employee of theirs... I was baffled & confused as the moment of the actual incident that had happened in the parking garage an hour earlier had already passed... I asked what he was talking about and he said "You flipped off & said -Fuck off" to one of our employee's... I was soo confused as to what was going on - I asked to speak to a supervisor who was very unhelpful & just asked me to leave, after I had already had my room for three days without incident... They were asking me to leave because their employee refused to slow down for me in the parking garage and I felt I should flip them off as they were rude practically almost killing me - yet the employee who is so innocent in this situation must've had a bad day/night because he took the time to call his boss and have us escorted out... Anyhow the reason behind this is all because someone wouldn't slow down in a parking garage and almost hit one of their customers... I would say that the employee would need a disciplinary action as well but it seems as if this place ONLY thinks THEIR EMPLOYEE'S who run down customers are right... I mean I could understand their structure but I wasn't drunk nor exploitative... I was calm & scared shitless of the 7 security men hovering over me read more

This review is for the casino section. I did great at the roulette table. Then the hubby and I had the best time ever at black jack. Everyone at the table was having a blast. Even the dealer was hilarious. There was this guy who we called Clark Rambis because he reminded us of Clark Kent/Kurt Rambis. It was a 'had to be there' kinda moment. I have been trying to cool off before I wrote a review on this hotel after my stay, but even 3 months after my blood is still boiling, so I thought I would give a valid review on my experience. I was staying at this hotel for a convention with over 200 people, so I thought the service would be excellent seeing we were spending so much money there, which was certainly not the case. First, all of our rooms were supposed to be close together, in the new tower. Well, ours was not, we were not even close to our group. On top of that, our A/C broke down 3 times during our say- and of course it was typically at 1am or 2am, when I woke up so sweaty and hot. Each time I called the front desk it took atleast an hour for them to arrive to my room. It was ridiculous. The bad part was they never once offered to switch rooms for us, or assist in anyway. The inconvenience of waking up and having to stay up and call every 10 minutes was out of control. They would say it would be 10 minutes, then 10 minutes later I would call and get the same response. Just awful service. Finally, the last day I was woken by the smell of marijuana in the hall. I called the front desk, again, and of course they didn't even really seem to care, no customer service day or night from anyone there. They finally said they would give me half off of the room, so I settled, fine something was better than nothing and I actually appreciated their sincerity for understanding the lack of service I was provided during my long 4-day stay. I was happy to get out of there, and go home in peace, but of course it didn't stop there. I ending up was double charged for my room: the half that they agreed for me to pay due to the inconvenience, AND THEN THE REST!!! so I got charged for all of it after they told me I wouldn't be. What happened to the promise and service for my inconvenience? My incentive for not sleeping a whole night at your resort? the promise they gave me due to the challenges was swept away from their RUDE accounting department and charged me for all of it. I of course called the accounting department the next day where they assured me that the first charge was just a pre-authorization, and it will drop off. Well, it didn't.... 3 months later I am still battling their accounting office. They have yet to give me an apology or a refund. If you are in Reno, stay ANYWHERE but here! read more

We didn't stay here, but spent a lot of time here between the casino, arcade, spa, and Island Buffet. It is very clean and fun inside. I especially liked the selfie screen, where you can change the screen to any location in the world. If you are here- check out the Island buffet for dinner! The spa is great, and the Arcade is filled with 80s and today's games. Good for people of any age!! read more
