Staff is always helpful and pleasant. Last time in we started with some really good garlic knots followed by a fresh salad. Finished with an awesome bbq philly sandwich and a pizza. Shockingly terrible and disorganized. You are better ordering from a mainstream pizza company or just cooking a frozen pizza. On top of having a tablespoon of sauce that makes for a terribly dry pizza, you will have an incorrect order delivered to you. I was happy to see this place open but very disappointed. The pizza is awful...too small and not as others have stated just like authentic NYC thin crust pie. I grew up in the city and trust me this pie doesn't even come close to even looking like a real pie never mind tasting like one. I also tried the Italian stallion sub and it was dry small and the roll was terrible all for $8, we also got the turkey bacon sub which instead of bacon to our surprise it had bacon bits sprinkled on it... come on guys. read more

Not a bad place to get a good family meal without leaving the island. We got the special, "tropical pepperoni" (pepperoni and pineapple), and it was decent - huge slices, and the large fed our family of 3 for two good size meals. Tried to call for either delivery or takeout before 6pm on Thursday, but was greeted with a busy signal every time. I took that as a good omen and drove to the restaurant to place my order. It took around 45 minutes for a large pie, wings, and a salad, all of which were completed and ready within two minutes of the other items, so the pizza and wings were still piping hot when I got back to our beach house. The owners and staff were very friendly despite the volume of business, and the pizza was very good, the wings were large, and the salad was...a salad. Well worth the wait. read more

Great pizza. Impressive delivery service. We ordered on a Saturday - the evening of check-in on the island. We were told that it might be an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes before we saw our pizzas. The person who took my phone order was absolutely delightful, and I appreciated her honesty!! We agreed to try this place at the advice of a friend. Overall, the pizza was good, but do not pay $20 for the Johnny Supremo. You will get more toppings that you are paying for anywhere else. Great local pizza shop! They had wonderful customer service and all the ladies were so sweet and friendly. They even went out of their way to make our family with little kids comfortable and fed kids and entertained. And they were slammed too! Ordered the large Johnny Supremo great thin crust pizza filled with lots of toppings! Also got the garlic knots with sauce too. All fabulous. Will come back anytime we are in town. read more

Hate to start a pizza review like this but this pizza is tasteless. Being from NY and yes for every good pizza in Ny there are 20 bad ones. But this lacked everything no salt in the dough pastry sauce congealed cheese and that all adds up to tasteless bland cracker with no appeal. 2 stars because the girls behind the counter were friendly. read more

I've had a sandwich and a pizza. Both were better than average. The pizza crust was cooked well but the dough could use a little more salt. If you are staying on the island it's very convenient, fast and affordable. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. The dining area is smallish so I've always gotten takeout. read more

Came here with 9 people, including 4 kids. Very good pizza, very friendly and helpful service. The pizza is handmade with real ingredients, and the garlic knots are hard to resist. Three good beers on tap. This is a perfect option for lunch on Oak Island, with good food and a relaxed atmosphere. We had three different pizzas and each hit the mark. This small restaurant got a local designation of best pizza in 2016. I like their pizza fine, just not the best I've ever had, though you need to know I actually LIKE pizza that other people find greasy. They do have nice topping options including sliced meatballs, a white pizza, and other standards. Subs are good, though not the overstuffed 12-inch sort of super-sizing fame. Still, my favorite is the steak sub, hot and gooey with banana peppers. It leaves me wanting just a bit more which I think says something about the quality of the eating. There are wings with several sauce options, vegetarian sandwiches, and a few beers on tap with a couple wine choices at $6 a glass. No kiddie menus that I could find. Daily specials seem to rotate and may include pasta with their lasagna night a local favorite. They are located just across the street from the ocean so you could spend a sweaty day in the sun and catch a snack and a beer on their deck on the way home. They're open seven days a week until January when they will close Monday and Tuesday for the winter. They even offered to provide water to one beachgoer's dog while they ate outside. Nice folks. First 2 were 2 of the worst pizzas I've ever had. 3rd was better, but still faulted. Pepperoni Grill is best of the pizza restaurant offerings if you're at the Oak Island beach and are hungry(VERY HUNGRY) for pizza. Box up review: Box: Here's a welcome site, the box was not soaked with grease. Crust Overall: The crust had fair flavor. It may be fresh made, but dough takes some time for the yeast to ferment and develop flavor. The pizza had a very large ring of un-topped dough around the edge, very chewy. It was hard to chew and most of the edge went in the trash. Worse crust can be had on the island however, which can be likened to a cracker. Kudos to Pepperoni Grill for having the crust done in the middle of the pie. It had a nice brown on the bottom as well. I've had many pizzas that were a mass of grease soaked raw dough in the center. I ordered a large and a small pizza. The large had an unacceptably large dough ring, as it appears they place the same amount of toppings on a large as they do the small, just on a bigger piece of dough. Sauce: The highlight of the pizzas, when I got a taste of it. The sauce was very sparingly applied. A bit sweet, but acceptable. Their website mentions a garlic kick, but I detected no garlic flavor in the sauce. Cheese: Cheese had good flavor and there was a decent amount applied, till you hit the dough ring. Toppings: The Pepperoni Grill website says they use fresh toppings and they never skimp. The mushrooms were undeniably of the canned variety and were also skimped upon. The pepperoni tasted good, and was applied slightly above skimping level. Of all other toppings, onion, banana pepper, garlic, spinach, roma tomato, olives, their freshness (or even presence in the case of the garlic) was not apparent. Staff: The woman who took my order in the restaurant was responsive, accurate, friendly, and appeared to believe in the restaurant's product. Building: Nice and clean inside. Nice décor and easy to read menu. Overall: The overall impression of my meal is that it consisted of a large, very chewy (sometimes difficult to chew), very salty piece of bread with sparse toppings. Glad to see someone in this building though, and they were busy at the time I was there. read more
