We ordered the platter that included a variety of their meats, which was a great way to sample several different dishes and flavors. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Pera Mezze was my choice for Mother's Day dinner, and overall, I came away impressed. Despite it being a very busy evening, the service team worked seamlessly together to keep everything running smoothly. Marcos, our server, was attentive and professional, and our food arrived promptly throughout the meal. The food was well-seasoned and cooked with care. The beef meatballs could have used a touch more salt, but they were still enjoyable. The lamb chops were the standout of the evening--perfectly cooked, tender, and absolutely delicious. The octopus tentacle was surprisingly tender, and the poached pear dessert was a delightful way to end the meal. My only real confusion was the lack of steak knives for some of the meat dishes we ordered. Cutting through the lamb chops and other meats with a butter knife was a bit challenging and took away from the dining experience. The restaurant was also quite warm that evening. It didn't seem like the air conditioning was keeping up with the crowd, making the dining room feel somewhat humid and uncomfortable at times. That said, the quality of the food and the excellent service more than made up for those minor issues. I would definitely return to try more dishes from the menu, especially during a cooler time of year. read more

The interior is nice and there's lots of seating. I didn't use the bathroom, but I was told there was no soap. I was also told that the paper towels were not placed in the dispenser. From where we were seated, we got a whiff of disinfectant smell coming from the bathroom at one point. We were given complimentary bread with dip. It was a fantastic start. As an appetizer, we had the chef mix mezze plate- hummus, babaganoush, dolmades, cretan feta spread, and muhammara. I thought the portion was small. Next, we had the Turkish manti (beef dumplings) served with garlic yogurt. This was my favorite dish. As mains we had the beef shashlik (skewers) and grilled lamb skewers that were served with white rice and salad. I preferred the lamb over the beef. I really wanted to like this place. Located in the same complex as Paul Martins in Roseville, the interior is furnished with comfortable velvet chairs and upbeat music plays in the background. I really liked the ambiance. Specializing in Mediterranean food, we started with the grilled octopus. I love octopus! I know for a cephalopod they are intelligent creatures, but my love of seafood overcame my moral compass. While the top seemed a bit too overcooked, it was a bit crunchy on top but the rest was very tender. I had their Paso Robles cabernet (there is only one) and when it came out, it tasted like the bottle had been open for a while and a bit stale, so I asked to swap it out for the pinot noir. The server took the wine and replaced it. Next, I ordered the beef skewers and here is where things went wrong. When the beef came out, it was chewy and a bit tough. A shade more than well done. While no one came to ask if we liked our food, I asked the waitress if I could get this remade. She muttered something about leaving the one I had ordered and would bring out another one. We had the beet salad which I quite enjoyed. It was fresh and the beets were done just right. My date had the lamb, which was done perfectly! Made me wish I had that instead. When the bill came, we were charged for the wine that was sent back and that I just had a sip of. In addition, we were also charged for the beef skewers that I had not eaten due to it being too tough. This was the first time I had experienced a situation like this! I love a good hummus, and I've found it here. We opted for the mix mezze plate and the moment that fresh, (and Im talking FRESH) bread and hummus hit my mouth, instant love. The hummus was amazing. Perfectly seasoned and smooth. I always love sampler plates like this because it gives you a great opportunity to sample as much as you can. My friend had the Ali Nazik and the beef was so tender, she almost didnt need a knife. My order of the hummus and quinoa salad was just as phenomenal, and not because I opted to add some steak on top. The restaurant is so beautiful. The chairs are comfortable and the entire place is stunning and smells so clean! Loved it. The service was amazing as well. I couldn't have asked for a better lunch. Was it expensive? Yes. A little over $100 for lunch. But will I get another meal out of those leftovers, also yes. The portion sizes were super on par for what they were charging. Ill absolutely go back again. My brother in law and sister in law took us here for lunch after raving about it so I knew it had to be good! I can definitely see why they have a 5-star average. They have a nice location, in the old Q1227 spot. It's nicely decorated and despite seeming like a fancier type restaurant, they even had a kids menu and kids cups! So definitely some bonus points in my eyes. We basically let our family order everything that they liked and I had zero complaints about any of it. Everything was so delicious, from the complimentary bread paired with the appetizers, to the main course, to the not-too-sweet desserts! My top favorites if I had to absolutely choose were the tzatziki, Turkish manti, beef shashlik, and chicken skewers. I'm not normally a fan of the chicken kabobs but these were cooked so perfectly and the meat was so tender. The rice pudding dessert was a perfect pair with the kunafe. On their "kids menu" they offer either beef kofte or chicken, with a side of rice or fries. It was a generous portion and one of each was plenty for our three hungry toddlers. They felt bad for slow Service ( which wasn't that bad considering how busy they were)...so they treated us with a fantastic meatball type of dish and two phenomenal desserts...the marinated Pear and baklava were homemade and the best I've ever had!! We loved dining at Mia, and now the same owners/managers have opened Pera Mezze House right next door. If you have been to Mia, the decor will be very familiar. The space has an upscale modern touch to it which is very nice. We came in for an early evening dinner after they had been opened a couple weeks. We were greeted immediately and seated. The servers were all well dressed and cleanly groomed. Service overall was mostly good throughout the evening. The servers appeared to be out of sync, or confused at times as we watched them tending to the other patrons. I know they will get their groove in time. Food is definitely Turkish/Greek: Started with the Muhamara - this dish was good and flavorful, yet lacked the heat that Muhamara usually has. Mercimekli Karniyarik - Eggplant dish that pretty much fell flat in the flavor category. Lamb chops - These were the star of the evening. 5 thinner cut chops that were perfectly prepared, flavorful and tender (medium rare of course). We were very happy with this dish. The meat was so tender and delicious that it didn't need a knife. For dessert we ordered the Pear and they gave my husband a layered mousse and ice cream dish with pistachios thrown in. The pear could easily be one of the best desserts we've ever had. I really can't describe it except to say it blended with the Turkish cream and pink sauce to be something else. With other Middle Eastern / Greek places moving into Roseville I hope Pera Mezze keeps to its made from scratch ideals. Oh and my dirty martini was excellent as well! I almost never leave reviews but after the experience me and few friends had here, I think others should be aware before considering eating here as there are many other places to choose from in Roseville. Every part of this experience was so unbelievably unprofessional that the details matter. I came in about 20 minutes behind two other friends that were already seated and had arrived for our dinner reservations. Upon arrival, I noticed the other guests at my table had no drinks or water. I asked if they had ordered anything and both said they were still waiting on cocktails, which were ordered when they arrived, again about 20 minutes prior. As we sat and chatted for another 10 minutes, our table had still not been approached or acknowledged by any servers or staff. I then noticed a couple to the left of us that were seated at the same time I arrived, had already been served food and drinks. At that point I realized the time and how long we all collectively had been sitting there still with no service. Maybe 5 minutes later, a server came over and without greeting asked "how can I help you?". We all looked at each other confused and I said we hadn't been checked on and asked for waters for the table and noted we were waiting on cocktails. The server then asked over the loud noise if we spoke something other than English. I again looked around confused and we said no. He took my drink order and walked away without asking about food or questions. Now at almost 40 minutes seated we still had no food put in and the two guests that arrived before me still had no drinks from the bar. We sat and debated leaving due to the horrible service, but went back and forth as this is somewhere we were looking forward to eating at for a while. Unfortunately, we ultimately decided after another 5-10 minutes later that we would find somewhere else and leave. We all got up and as we were walking out, we could see our server point and the host walking back to the front. Again, I don't know when the last time I had this experience at a restaurant before, especially one with good reviews like this one. Noteworthy- the restaurant was also so loud we couldn't hear each other from across the table. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. I will not be recommending this establishment. read more

Our new favorite restaurant in Roseville...it did not disappoint. The ambiance and space itself is beautiful, fun, and modern with great design details. This would be a wonderful restaurant to celebrate events, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. at as its not a quick or fast experience (in a good way) or to take out of town guests. We loved the food and being from the Bay Area we have struggled to find any real Greek food in Placer that compares. Pera gets it right and understood their mission to bring authentic Greek and Turkish cuisine to us (we thank you profusely). The food itself was stellar. Flavor bursts and textures abound. We had chicken skewers which were amazing (very juicy and flavorful) with an arugula side salad and a buttery rice - all delicious. Likewise the feta dip was incredible with a pita bread that had sesame seeds toasted on to it (fluffy, light and yet doughy - we asked for extra), the mango beet salad with goat cheese, and feta fries. All good choices, nothing disappointed. Our only critique for the food was we had wished there was more feta on the fries themselves but it wouldn't differ us from ordering again. Service was equally great - they took wonderful care of us and went beyond. We had an overall excellent experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a great Greek spot.
