This place is really great for covered patio seating, for margaritas, and for tacos. We've been twice and both times were pretty great! (Though the first time there was an issue with fruit flies... the second time they appeared to have gotten that issue under control) We recommend couples ordering two different tacos since you can't mix and match, but this way you can try the fish and the shrimp (which is what we did the second time) and be doubly happy! The queso with guac is also not to be missed - sounds odd but the creamy cold guac is a nice foil to the hot gooey queso... and the chips are made in house, strong enough to scoop all the deliciousness up! Margaritas (house, passionfruit, and strawberry) are tasty but one is all I needed, and a walk around the neighborhood afterward helped this lightweight feel OK about driving. Overall not a bad vibe. I thought the margaritas were good, I had the passion fruit and the Cali caliente. I thought overall the food was good, the Baja shrimp enchiladas were delicious but I would truly like to see refried beans at a Mexican restaurant as that feels more authentic, as well as some Spanish rice (in contrast they have whole black beans, and white rice). The queso and guac were good, the churros absolutely delicious. Service could have been better. I don't like having to flag down our waiter every time we need something, but I do think I would go again. read more

Perdida is a good staple on Gaylord Street when you want a spot with ambience and great service! The food is a little hit or miss, but you can't go wrong with their tacos, guac and margaritas. We went here for a friend's 30th birthday with a group of 10 people (reservation) on a Saturday in December. The place was really busy, but we were seated at a nice long table and despite being a full restaurant, the noise level was very manageable and easy to hear one another. We started with the fried garlic shrimp which was great as well as chips and salsa. I got the elderflower prickly pear margarita which was good, but not my favorite. Since the last dining experience was for a few cocktail drinks and a dessert, yesterday's dinner experience said more about what this restaurant could offer especially food wise. And they sure didn't disappoint us. Potato Flautas definitely caught my eye. The crispy texture of the tortilla (about 3 inches long) was perfectly crunchy. Those columns of Flautas (6 of them) stand in the center of the plate underneath the perfectly seasoned guacamole is such a beautiful presentation. What's rolled inside the crispy tortilla is the mashed potato and oh boy, this is now my FAVORITE approach at this restaurant or of the world. I can come back for that any day now. Great value at the price of $13. I was also impressed with the fish in the ceviche. It tasted la bit like shrimp but you know shrimp can be sometimes a bit chewy so I re-read the description of it and it's actually a snapper. And this ceviche is accompanied by a generous portion of chips. Like the Flautas, it's got a great value at the price of $15 because of the portion. Fish tacos (two of them which I didn't take a picture of) was also amazing. The way they battered the fish and cooked it was impeccable. Almost forgot to mention about my cocktail, "Hop To It". Breckenridge gin, carrot, ginger, cucumber, lemon are mixed in this concoction. Each of the ingredients especially the fruit and vegetables are perfectly balanced except the gin. The alcohol was weak and it tasted almost like a nonalcoholic beverage frankly. Our waiter was attentive even though it was a busy Thursday night. This restaurant has got a good ambiance but the only thing about this place is that it's quite noisy. My date and I had a bit of a hard time hearing each other but hey, this will not stop me from coming back to it again in the future. read more

We went here a while back for brunch and were super impressed. The space is quite large and really nice! The back patio is so lovely! We got the baja trio and street corn, both super good. My husband got the chicken tortilla soup which was really good. I got the roasted jalapeno caesar, which I was a bit bummed it wasn't spicy at all. The flavors were quite bland in fact. This spot is more 3 1/2 stars for me. But no halfsies on Yelp so I'll give it 4. That extra half point goes to Depot for being an amazing waiter. The drinks are good and strong. The ambiance is sooo cute, kinda small. They could benefit from some misters on the patio during the summer. But a bill being $120 for 4 drinks and 2 apps is willlllllld. The food is good, but our pork was a little dry. So for these prices, I need everything to be perfect. I'll probably go again tbh. I want to try other things on the menu. We took friends visiting from out of town to Perdida for dinner- the ambiance and decor was great and the street where it's located is also very cute. We started with a salsa flight- I'm obsessed with salsa and being from Texas, also very opinionated when it comes to good salsa. My favorite of the 3 was the orange habanero salsa, second favorite the green, and least favorite being the classic red which tasted too much like marinara for my liking. For main courses, I had the Baja enchiladas which were very good- sauce on top was amazing. While my husband had chicken enchiladas with one green and one red. Those were good as well. I would give this 3.5 stars but since that's not an option I'll select four because the customer service was pretty spot on. We popped in for brunch to celebrate a friends birthday. We tried majority of the offerings on the brunch menu. The cornbread was good but a little on the dry side for my preference (might just be the southern girl in me) the French toast presentation was gorgeous and very tasty. I didn't love the texture of the potato Flautas but I did like that they are served with guac. The breakfast tacos were alright but the bacon was slightly charred. Decor is varied and a good balance of fun and elegant. There are YUCA FRIES on the menu!! They're an obsession of mine, and Perdida's variation is YUM. Short ribs! Queso! Cotija! We had the chips and salsa trio to start, and the red pepper salsa is seriously GOOD. The red salsa was mild and slightly smoky. The tomatillo salsa has a slight bite. BF had the birria tacos, and I had the smoked jalapeño Caesar with chicken. SO DELICIOUS. Huge portion, with a deliciously seasoned if slightly dry chicken breast. Then we had the strawberry tres leches cake. Ooooh. Yum. The whipped cream, a delicate pink, is made in-house. BF's rice and beans weren't anything special, but he liked them. I had a ranch water (on Q's advice), and BF had an Arnold Palmer. Q was the BEST server!! Very knowledgeable about the menu. Absolutely flawless, friendly, professional service. Absolutely love Perdida! Their street tacos are all very tasty. Service is typically pretty friendly and fast. We've never had an issue getting a seat quickly, though we typically go around happy hour and on a week day. The ambiance makes you feel as though you're dining in a coastal California joint though you're in the middle of a Denver neighborhood, land locked. Parking can be a challenge but again for good food and drink, it's always worth it to park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk it in. read more

We finally got to visit Perdida for brunch yesterday. What I like best about this restaurant is the beeezy ambiance. It's light and airy with two beautiful outside patios. It's such a fun atmosphere! Our food was very good. Our son loved his chicken tacos. My husband tried the shrimp enchiladas and I had the Huervos rancheros. My only complaint is that for the price, the portions were very small.
