I use to go here when it was called Canyon Nails and owned by Lisa years ago. Since she left, it had gone downhill fast. Since then I've been going to mediocre nail shops in the area so I thought I'd give Perfect Nails a try since I live so close. Rose is such a sweetheart and she did the most perfect shellac nail job I've ever had done. She was very meticulous about getting the perfect edge around my cuticles. They always take their time, and I never feel like I'm being rushed out of the chair. They offer water to their customers too!! I usually get a gel manicure. Me and 2 friends made an apt here to get gel mani/pedis and waxing. We showed up at our apt time, and they were packed. We sat in our pedi chairs for 2 hours before they even started on us. Our water was cold, the machine turned off. They never even put anything in the water to soak our feet in. When they did start- they rushed through our pedicures, didn't even ask which one we wanted. I wanted the ice one- I guess I got the basic. When the other woman started on my hands, I should have stopped her. She didn't soak me, dipped them in water, filed the top of my nails, didn't even shape them or clean up my cuticles. The color I picked was all thick and chunky like it was old so I told Her I didn't like it, and she yelled at me! Everyone was staring in disbelief. She changed the color but that's not the point. They look terrible! And one chippped completely in half not even an hour later. I'll never go here again and I wouldn't recommend them at all. I'm embarrassed I invited my friends there because they also had horrible experiences. Oh and she told me "$15 more for gel- it's an American thing" what? What does that even mean? First let me say that I take COVID very seriously. It took a lot for me to get a pedicure. 99.99999% of the time, I stay at home. This place was compliant and clean. I felt safe the entire time, and wore a mask, as did everyone. Temperatures were taken, stations sanitized, plexus glass shields were at every nail station, and customers were sanitized and 6ft or more distanced. I had a full set done here by a male. I feel bad I didn't get his name. He did a fantastic job. I have a 9 month old, so I wanted my nails short and round enough to not scratch the baby. I also already had my toes painted, so he helped me match the color to my nails. I will definitely return to him to get a fill. read more

Today my normal salon was booked, so my daughter (11yrs) and I went to Perfect Nails. We walked right in, which should have been my first clue. Before my polish was even off they were ready to paint my daughters toes. Her total pedicure lasted about 8 minutes. I asked if she would receive a reduced price for the half ass pedicure she received. The answer was, they would charge $30. For me they would charge $40. While this conversation is going on the one giving me my pedicure was causing so much pain I finally said we wanted to stop, pay for what little we received and leave. By the way, how they remove gel polish is by peeling it off with cuticle clippers. It hurts and destroys your nails. See how I left! The only reason I am given 2 stars and not negative is because Tom is awesome. He does my nails absolutely perfect and takes his time. He is very nice and always friendly. This post is for Nina. She was the WORST today. So bad I tipped nothing! I come from the service industry and tip very well. Let me start by saying that she was on the phone like FaceTime phone call majority of my pedi. On Wednesday(Aug 12th) I decided I needed my nails done. Most of the places in Benicia are closed as well as Vallejo. I happened to find this fantastic place that was open and safely operating outdoors. I called and made an appointment for 30 minutes later. I got there with about 10 minutes to spare and they seated me right away. The nail tech was friendly and patient. It took me forever to pick my two colors for the ombré and she did not seem bothered at all. She shaped my nails exactly the way I like, tapered square. She even trimmed my cuticles. I came here only 30 minutes after they opened so no one would be here. But the rushed me, and half assed it. Even though they had no one waiting. Kevin did a full set for me. I wanted a simple, short, and basic paint job. He kept filing over my cuticle. Eventually he cut it. It kept bleeding, but he kept cutting and not being careful. The nail was bumped and I asked him to fix it. He said no, and that I need to be more careful next time. I asked someone else to fix it, considering he bumped it while moving me. But no one would. Very lovely and clean salon with a huge selection of regular polish, gel, acrylic powder and dip powder colors. The reason I'm giving 3 stars: When you go in for a gel manicure, instead of wrapping your nails in foil and using a scraper tool to remove the old polish, they use a dremel - very damaging! My nails are noticeably thinner now; they'd been thick and healthy previously. On the bright side, pedicures come standard with a hot stone leg massage. read more

Pros: -fast service, I like coming first thing when they open, just to avoid crowds. I was seated immediately when I got it and didn't have to wait at all. -great opens in colors and services. From acrylic to gel and a new method called SNS. -prices are reasonable and pretty typical; although price never was a problem for me coz it's my nails! -I have found Julie! She use to work at envy 2 years ago and left. Apparently she went to work at a salon in Vacaville and left there and is now at this place! Got to make sure to have her do my nails if I ever return. Cons: -way too fast service. I've noticed that most places are pretty quick my my pedi, no more than 45mins (my feet was well maintained) but the girl here literally was done in 30; start to finish. She did go snip happy on the side of each toe, which is fine. I do that to myself when I do my own pedi. But it felt way too rushed. The woman doing my gel fill began working in my fill as they finished up my pedi, which was fine, but.... -my gel fill is super uneven! She asked if I wanted cutdown and I told her yes, but she disregarded the fact that she needed to check if the left was even with the right. My mom and I got mani/pedis and were disappointed in the quality. My mom didn't like how quickly they did her mani/pedi because they weren't thorough in the cleaning. I think they did both services in about 20 minutes. The man who did my pedi did a decent job. The woman who did my nails cut me and didn't even apologize. The thing that really annoyed me was when she asked me to pay. She gave me the receipt to sign and our total was $70 and I tipped $15. She said in a rude way, "$15 for four people?!" I think that was extremely tacky and unprofessional--especially when a tip that's more than 20% and is really generous considering I wasn't happy with their work. I've been trying to find a new nail salon for a while, and thought I'd try this one out. Worst nail salon experience I've ever had. Currently soaking my hands in hydrogen peroxide to hopefully decrease the changes of getting an infections, and will be getting this polish taken off tomorrow. I'm afraid that one nail in particular might have been infected. I had previous gel polish on my natural nails that had to be removed, and the tech started off by using a nail dremel to take it off. 1. Following that she did not have me soak my nails in water, but went straight into filing and cutting my cuticles. No cuticle remover was applied before starting (the tech next to her was using it on her client). 2. When cleaning under my nails she uses a metal nail filer and pushed really hard into my skin. I could see the skin under my nails start to turn red from irritation. It was very painful 3. When cutting my cuticles she cut me a few times and causes me to bleed, doesn't apologize, but goes into her drawer and takes out this blue liquid which is in a dropper shaped bottle. She touches the tip of the dropper DIRECTLY on my open wound. SO unsanitary, and she never even asked before doing that! I'm not even sure what it was that she applied, but the fact she touched an open cut directly is very concerning. 4. After she was done she went to take out her base coat, but I stopped her and asked her to cut my nails shorter. She responds by saying that she had already asked me if I wanted them cut. I replied saying I never heard her ask, and she replied with "I asked you if you wanted them cut but you didn't reply". You would think that when getting no response they would ask again?? She was talking to the other techs the entire time so it was hard to figure out when she was asking me a question or not. Also the order she was doing everything wasn't what I was used to, so I was thinking she might get to it later. 5. Following this she cuts my nails shorter as requested and FINALLY goes to soak my hands in water, but uses what looked like a FOOT BRUSH to clean my hand of the filings. DISGUSTING. Then uses the same towel she used to wipe the gunk from my nails to wipe my hands dry. DID NOT EVEN FLIP THE TOWEL SIDE. (please note that she pulls out the cuticle cutter and other nail tools from her drawer, and simply wipes them and puts them back in the drawer. SO unsanitary) 6. When applying the nail polish she does a sloppy job, and once done does not wipe my nails with alcohol. Goes straight into applying some cuticle oil on my right hand nails, then lotion. But when it comes to my left arm she applies the lotion, then remembers she didn't apply nail oil. Rushes that, and then rubs in lotion. The whole experiences felt rushed, and most importantly extremely unsanitary. I normally wouldn't write a review for a bad nail experiences if it was just sloppy, but I feel it is important for potential customers to be aware of cleanliness and sanitation concerns. read more

Just stepped out of there. Pros: *They use CLEAN and SANITIZED tools. They pull it out of a sealed bag. *Relaxing soothing music *Several luxury pedicure and manicure options *They accept credit cards (with a $20 minimum) *They're patient (they don't rush and take their time) *Tons of gel colors to choose from *They offer you bottled water *They offer gel nail polish on toenails (some places don't) Cons: *Waited 30 minutes but I was also 30 minutes late for my appointment even though I did call in and advised. * The massage hurt *The rocks were too hot *The wax was WAAAYYYY TOO HOT *My 2 big toenail polish are not even, it would've been nice if she fixed the left big toe and removed some of the nail glitter that was globbed it (see photo). *She applied 4 coats of gel nail polish to my left thumbnail and then clear polish over it each time, so now it's uneven and too heavy/thick. Anyone who knows gel, you have to keep it thin or it'll peel right off within a couple of days and thicker doesn't necessarily look better. *There was an extra $5 hot oil charge and I didn't even ask for that nor do I like oil being rubbed on my skin. Amy did my mani-pedi and I opted for the #3 pedi with the hot rocks. I was going to get my mom a gift certificate to there for a higher end pedicure but after my $95 bill not including tip, I conveniently forgot about the $55 gift certificate I was going to get. 5 stars would mean a great nail polish set on both my hands and feet. Right now, I feel a bit lop-sided on both. I didn't get an uneven job and I felt like I got burned with rocks and wax, so there's my 4 stars. It's an experience I recommend, but I'll probably only go back for my gel pedi since my normal salon doesn't do that. And I'll be more up front about asking it to be even. read more

4/11/2015 **UPDATE** Down to a 3 star I was one of thier first customers and helped spread the word of new ownership, but lately everytime I go it's getting worse. I get acrylic nails and they keep getting new people to do them. Maybe it's because they don't know me, but I haven't been happy. Yesterday after I left, The gel cracked on 5 of my nails. Like shattered glass. I go back today and the NEWEST addition is rushing me to pick polish because "she's busy" ??!! I said yeah I know I was here for 3 HOURS yesterday spending $230 for me mom and my sister! Really??!! Then when she's done she tries to charge me $5 This broad is CRAZY!! And I told them so. They should of paid me for my time for having to go back Also yesterday: My mom's toes were done poorly And we had to have them Re do all the tips because they were cut too short on her new set after she told them she wanted longer 1 more try I swear then I'm looking for a new place.... In the mean time I'm deleting all my pics because I'm not going to help them get business anymore. I've been here 3 times and it's my new go to! I had 1 "so-so" experience but I can't let one bad apple ruin it for the other great ladies. Plus I have not see that lady in there since then. The ladies that work there are super nice. The place is clean and sanitary too. Today I paid a little extra for the sunshine pedicure and it was the best pedicure of my life! She really took her time and made me feel so relaxed to the point where I almost fell asleep. She offered me water or tea as well which I appreciated because I typically get thirsty from being in the nail salon for a couple of hours. I also got a gel manicure. I wish I asked for the her name because she is the same one who did my manicure last time and she never fails me. She is gentle on my nails and doesn't try to file the crap out of my nail beds. She takes her time and doesn't ever make me feel like she's rushing to get to the next customer. One thing I would suggest to them is that it is super quiet in there. They have TVs but the plastic is still on it like its brand new and they never have it on. But you could easily bring in your headphones and listen to your own music or tv show. I absolutely love this shop! Christine, who does most of the designs, is my go-to nail chick! She is fast, neat and accurate on a consistent basis. She handles my cuticles with care and never cuts me in the process! She paints neatly, and really takes her time to make sure that you'll be happy with the finished product. I go in every 2 weeks faithfully for a gel manicure and mango spa pedicure and have never been disappointed! ALL of the staff are very nice and do their best to make sure you have the best experience. I've been there after they're closed and they still take people walking in if they can. If Christine is unavailable and I need emergency nail service I know that whoever does my nails will do a great job. They offer tea or water to every client which is always a nice perk.
