Our Colonial Grandfather clock (made circa 1930-40) slowed then stopped working. Perfect Tyme came out to our home to fix it. They were on time and very courteous, telling us about the clock's history. We were lucky the clock needed only cleaning and oil. Oiling these clocks is tricky, just a speck of clock oil in the oil reservoirs and a few other places. For this the movement had to be taken out of the clock. Everything was done with expertise and no mess. The clock is tick-tocking and ding-donging happily again. I have seen the Perfect Tyme signs in the Village for decades and this is the first time we have needed them. Highly recommended! We inherited my Dad's old Grandfather clock and Scott quoted me a fair price for moving it, explained how the process was and could move it within a week. Most grandfather clock repairers in our area would not move it, the movers quoted us a high price and frankly I didn't think they would treat it gently like Perfect Tyme. So Scott moved it for us and set it back up. Since then we had it serviced for maintenance and also had it cleaned and lubricated and Perfect Tyme did a great job! Since my initial contact with Scott I discussed the maintenance and cleaning with Sue and she was always professional and returned my calls within 1 day if I called after hours or the same day if I called during their regular business hours. The clock was delivered with a beautiful bouquet of roses in a nice vase as a "thank you" gift within 2 weeks at the specified day time. Great service! Sue makes sure that you are satisfied. I brought in a wall clock that I got as a wedding gift and it stopped working. I took it over and they had to switch out the mechanism and hands, but the hands were black! It did not look good with the gold mirror framing that the clock had. So, Sue offered to spray paint it gold so that it would match and now you can't even tell the hands are not the original. It costed me around $30 which is alot better than buying a new wall clock of that size (and did not want to replace since it was a wedding gift). I would definitely recommend for anyone who is looking to repair their clocks. read more

I went to have a wall clock fixed and they only charged me $10.00 for the part. I had just bought a watch that I needed to have some links taken out of, so I looked up a watch repair shop on Yelp, and this was the closest one. When I got in, it was clearly a clock shop, so I figured maybe they specialized in clocks but could also fix watches, since watch repair was clearly listed as one of their services on Yelp. When I asked the woman if she could take links out of my watch (not even a real repair, but just take out some links) she seemed annoyed that I had even asked, and told me to go somewhere else. Apparently this happens a lot because they are misrepresented on Yelp. So my two star review is nothing to do with their clocks or clock repair, which I am sure they are great at. My two star review is because the woman was rude to me for something that was not my fault. It's not her fault that Yelp has false info about them either, which is why it's not a one star review. So to summarize, she was rude to me for asking a simple question about a simple service. I definitely would not go back to them, even if I did have a clock that needed repair. Just rude. read more

Took my wife's cuckoo clock in because the chain came off the sprocket. It does that once every couple of years. In the past I've watched my father in law open the back and carefully reset the chain on the sprocket using a pair of tweezers within a couple of minutes (by the way, he's not a clock maker or repairman). This time I took it to "Perfect Tyme". Paid to have it fixed. It took a WEEK. When I picked it up I was told they had to take apart. I guess some normal person can simply reset the chain but these guys had to TAKE IT APART. Took it home, it never really worked right and within a day the chain came off again. I don't know what they did to it but it certainly is not "fixed". At this point I'd say the clock is pretty much ruined, unless I want to take it somewhere else and pay someone to take it apart AGAIN and repair it the way it's supposed to be. I will not be going to this business again. read more
