With COVID 19, I am working from home on the far east side. My car has been sitting - and you guessed it - the pack rats found a new chew toy. Initially, I took the car to the Kia dealership, whom I like, on Speedway. I decided to try Performance because Scott & Meghan are neighbors and because they are closer to my home. I feel like I avoided a complete auto scam from Scott and Megan. I brought a 2008 Toyota Sienna to them for a pre-purchase inspection on May 6, 2021, and unfortunately paid $130 for the scam attempt. Scott recommended replacing the serpentine belt $90, power steering pump (leaking) $450, return power steering hose $87, and power steering flush $90 (in addition to other fluid services). The vehicle drove fine! There was absolutely no power steering symptoms... the steering wheel was easy to turn and there was no noise at that time. I purchased the vehicle in the early afternoon that same day and left the vehicle with them overnight. Initially I decided to have the power steering work done and also repair to the windshield for a chip $40. Later that same afternoon, I called and canceled the power steering work as the situation just didn't add up to me, (no symptoms). The next day, I picked up the van and drove it back to Sierra Vista (where I live). The original windshield chip was repaired, however, there was a new chip! In addition, a new noise: a clunking sound when the steering wheel was in a sharp turn. I took the van for 2 new tires and the owner of the tire shop told me that the bolts holding the rack and pinion were loose and that they wouldn't fix it, as they just do tires, but those loose bolts were the source of the clunking noise with sharp turns. So I next took the van to Midas because I wanted to be sure about the power steering pump and hose, and to get the rack and pinion bolts tightened. The mechanic there had me walk under the van while it was suspended in the work bay. He showed me the power steering pump. One bolt looked moist. He said that there was a small seepage and that it was nothing to worry about at this point, just to keep an eye on it in the future. The Midas mechanic tightened the loose bolts on the rack and pinion and told me that it was actually quite dangerous to drive with loose bolts, that turning a corner at even low speeds could result in the front tires going sideways and the van could flip. Ouch. The next day I took the van into the Toyota dealership. They changed the oil and did a multi-point inspection. They also noted a power steering pump seep, with recommendation for watching it. They did not recommend replacing the serpentine belt. I not recommend Performance Complete Auto Care shop to anyone. Zero stars. read more

I had a check engine code come on.. looked into it and it was sounding like a thermostat issue, so I took it to Performance and upon walking in and talking to Scott within minutes he pulled a guy to put in on the scanner, determine it was in fact the thermostat, and got started on it asap!
