He seems like he is problem with women . He charged very cheap products for too much money and I went back to fix the rest part of the repairs things that we agreed to do another day . He shouted me infront of his employees with lies that I am late for appointments ( I have mention bcoz of little kid I will come late that he agrees on the phone ) . Honest people doing honest work. I was in the area from out of town and thought I had a radiator leak. As I had it replaced in Arizona recently to the tune $800 I was not happy. Joe and Roberto were kind and efficient in diagnosing the issue and simplifying the fix. The radiator cap was not holding pressure and had failed. Joe found it at the local oriellys, gave me the part number and didn't charge me a dime for the diagnosis. Good people. Was referred to this shop by a good friend. My Acura is a 1997 with 250K miles after several disappointments with other shops I took it in hoping that someone would be able to tell me what was wrong. Had several oil leaks and in the last six months have spent thousands of dollars to get the issue repaired but the check engine light continued to come on. I took it to Joe/Owner and was told that it was the head gasket in which he gave me an estimate of $850 and advised me that he was giving me a good deal, at that time I advised him that no other mechanic had stated it was the head gasket so I was glad to know finally what the problem was. At that time I advised Joe that I was unemployed and that I needed to know if the car was worth repairing since it had over 250, 000 miles otherwise it would not be worth it. He said that they would be able to fix the problem and I would be good to go. Took my car in on January 23rd in which Joe said that it would take some time to get the car fixed which I advised him was not a problem about a week later he called to advise me that there were some other issues that he noticed once the gasket was out, he called to advised me that it would be approximately another $400 which I agreed to I then picked up the car in late March . After several weeks of having the car and after spending over $2300 he then tells me that I may have a transmission problem, this was only advised after I paid and was there to pick up my car. Last Friday the light came back on I called Joe and he was somewhat sarcastic did not want to take any ownership and I advised him that I needed a smog cert and he said bring it in then. I took it in was somewhat rude told the guy to check it and I was advised by the other mechanic that there was two codes and that he would look into it, before I was told anything Joe advised him to just turn the light off and that I could leave. You would have never known I was a customer due to his rudeness and it seemed by bringing it in it was an inconvenience. Like Elaine in her review its only a good deal if the car is repaired properly. He took no ownership and was not willing to even do anything about it. Needless to say the light was turned off and he basically yelled across the shop that I could leave now, I then went to him and he started to tell me about the transmission in which I advised him how i felt about the issue after spending over $2300 he even had the nerve to tell me that I never told him that there was a problem with the transmission but then again how would i know and who is the mechanic? Be careful if he tells you your getting a good deal, the owner lacks any responsibility and has no customer service skills. read more

I initially came to Coastline Auto Shop (which shares a space with Performance Service) because my car started making a heavy thunking sound when shifting from park to drive and from first to second gear, and I was sure this meant there was a transmission issue. Jesse and Angel took a look at the car, test drove it, and scanned the codes for me. After doing so, they showed me the code my car was generating and explained that it was engine-related, not transmission related. They suggested I take it to my regular mechanic and told me not to let them sell me a new transmission, as that wouldn't fix the problem. Since I don't have a regular mechanic in the area yet, I asked if they could recommend someone. They offered to see if Joe at Performance Service could look at my car for me. Joe took a look at my car and, after some investigation, said he thought the problem could be fixed relatively simply with an oil change, engine flush and solenoid cleaning (since they were pretty dirty but still in good shape). He was right - my car is running perfectly now. Needless to say, I was thrilled that what I thought was a transmission issue on my relatively new car would be a simple and inexpensive fix! Both Joe at Performance Service and Jesse and Angel at Coastline were very nice to deal with, very honest, and took the time to explain what was going on and what they were doing every step of the way. I couldn't have had a better experience and I'll definitely go back next time I need service. read more

My wife went to Performance Auto, and had a great experience. She usually hates talking in our cars because she feels she will be ripped off because she is a woman. I had to work and she reluctantly took in her car and was very impressed. Joe was friendly and fast. We had a cracked radiator and got the car back by the end of the day. Joe showed her where it was cracked so she knew what was wrong. The price was very reasonable and we did not feel overcharged at all. We have found a gem in the auto repair business, and we will be taking our cars to Performance Service Automotive for all our car repairs from now on. read more
