My friends arrived there at 2:48pm on Saturday 2/17/18 places their order and were served after 10-15 min which I thought it was a longer time than usual. I ordered my tai tea boba at 2:51 and did not receive my order until 3:20 pm. They forgot my order and when I placed my order there was only 5 people behind me. I waited and asked about my order as long as I could and they said that they were busy and that if I could wait longer . Finally 30 freakin minutes later I got my tai tea boba. As you may know, I've made it a point to try as many independent coffee places in the Dallas area that I can. I enjoyed this coffee place a lot. The atmosphere is calming, the service was friendly, and I got a hazelnut latte with almond milk, which was pretty good. One thing I wished, since I drank it at the location, I wish I could have gotten it in a mug rather than a paper cup. But all in all, when I went there it was busy but not too busy to do work. I came into this place because it was the only coffee shop open early on a Sunday. I had never been here. I should have tried this place earlier. It's nice and quiet. I hate it when a coffee shop is loud. You are meant to have a nice cup of coffee in a nice and quiet place, particularly in the morning. Especially if it's on a Sunday. They also serve breakfast sandwiches. Well it's actually the same sandwich but you get to choose if you want it on an English muffin or on white bread. It has eggs, thinly sliced deli ham, cheese, and green onions. The green onions indicates that the owner is most likely Korean, if the location didn't already give it away. It tastes like a breakfast sandwich my mother would make me. Except she would leave out the cheese. Too many family members with heart disease. So, it was very delicious and nostalgic. I also had the affogato. I can never pass those up, no matter what. It was not the best I've ever had, but good. I think it's mostly due to the fact that I like my affogato with gelato rather than ice cream. But I will definitely come back to this place to try all the other specials. It's one of my favorite things to do. It gives you a good idea as to how good of a fit a place. read more

This is my second time here in 24 hours if that says anything about how fantastic this coffee is. This area of Dallas is severely lacking good coffee, but Peridot nicely fills that void. The cashier both days (owner?) is eager to explain anything on the menu and is very friendly. He also accommodated my request to have my latte "half sweet". Food options are slim, but that's not what you came for anyway. :) The space is just the right size with plenty of seating, very quiet if you want to do work, with classical music playing both mornings I came in. Like many others posting, I just "discovered" this place driving by and thought I would stop in. So glad I did as it's a hidden jewel there on Royal you probably wouldn't know about unless (a) seeing these reviews on Yelp or (b) stopping in. I had the Chai Tea last week and the Chai Bubble Tea yesterday, and loved them both. I've never really bought into the S***Bucks mentality as I prefer a more subdued, quiet place with a fewer "campers" turning it into their private offices. This place fits the bill. I came here because I was in the area and it's been on my bookmarks since... forever!!! Well I got the matcha late white which is the most popular thing on the menu. The flat whites are only available in store. The matcha flat white was only 7oz (cries) but seems way smaller that that. The coffee was bitter which I guess in that cause you can't call me a coffee snob because I only drink lattes. The match was mixed in really well you could tell it was high quality because of the way it tasted. The environment is cozy and quite. The worker was super friendly and made my order quick before he headed back. They will start selling shaved ice but not until May. read more

Stopped by here this past Treat Yo Self Day and I did not know what I got myself into. Located in what looked like a Korean-centric area (I'm not from Dallas so I apologize in advance for being knowledgeable), Peridot Coffee sure impressed me. The place was quiet, lacking the hustle and bustle of most coffee shops - which I loved. When there, I ordered the flat green tea after seeing so many pictures of it. It piqued my interest. Although the price was a little bit on the expensive side for the small shot glass of steamed milk, espresso, and matcha(?), I thoroughly enjoyed the uniqueness of it. I've been coming here on the weekdays and today is a Wednesday late afternoon and there's very few people. They have outlets to charge your phone or laptops and lots of seating areas to sit and lounge with friends or family. I like to order their chai spice tea with ice and today I'm trying out their flat green tea because it seems like the thing to try at least once at this place. Great coffee and amazing service! I had the hand dripped coffee made from Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans. The barista made the coffee in individual cups and timed the brewing for each cup. He also took the time to explain what different flavor notes to taste for this particular type of coffee. Truly a great experience, I'm glad we're getting places like this in Dallas. read more

Charming little coffee shop in Irving. The store is comfortable, the coffee is wonderful and the barista is SO kind. There are a few different kinds of seating (group tables, smaller tables and lounge-type chairs) and more than enough parking. *Horrible experience* I am Korean, and it was my first time visiting Korean-owned cafe. As a Korean, "Maxim instant coffee" comes to my mind first when I think of "Korean coffee" since they are so popular in South Korea. I asked the owner if he uses "Maxim instant coffee" to make the Korean Iced coffee, and the guy immediately gave me the look for more than 10secs instead of answering my question, he said he is offended by me asking that question. All I asked is if he uses the Maxim. I love the taste of Maxim, so I was going to buy it if he uses it. He could have said, " I never use the instant coffee to make the coffees". I don't know why he said " I am offended by your question". The owner, I have a right to ask questions about the coffee I am getting, and it is your responsibility to answer the question as a business owner. It looks like I am not the only person who was treated like this for questions as I read some reviews. The coffee was okay, it honestly tasted like Maxim instant coffee. I don't know how he did that with regular coffee beans. My boyfriend also said that the coffee tasted like Maxim. read more

We stopped at this coffee shop after a visit to komart. Cute, cozy little place. I got the affogato and husband got iced mocha. The affogato is a shot of expresso mixed with vanilla ice cream. It definitely woke me up. I also liked the ice mocha. Will be back whenever we are in the area. read more

Coffee is one of those things you probably associate with Seattle. Likewise, coffee houses are places in hip urban neighborhoods. Peridot Coffee is located in a nondescript plaza off Royal Lane in Dallas. Just off the exit from I-35, this isn't a walkable area and the business mix here wouldn't suggest a place where you could find a coffee shop. Yet like so many examples in Dallas, some of the most interesting things are in unexpected locations. If you want fancy-schmancy or chain restaurants, head into the hubs. If you want the real stuff, you gotta explore the older suburbs. We had seen Peridot before, but it had either been later in the day or the cupholders were already full. This morning was our moment to finally check it out. We ordered an Americano and a Caramel something Latte. There was no one in the place other than the guy behind the counter, and it seemed completely safe; still, we decided to wait outside. After a short time, our coffee was in hand. I got a whiff and the Americano smelled really good and tasted even better. The latte was also delish! The interior is nice too, so in a post-COVID world, it may be a good place to sit for a while. Friendly service. Clean, minimal decor. I had the Korean Iced Coffee, which comes with soy milk, & I added Boba. It was delicious & not overly sweet or soy tasting. The coffee was strong and smooth in flavor. (I didn't' ask if it was sweetened, or the sweetness came from the soy milk.)
