This place still using covid as excuse to not have indoor dining open. or they don't need to make money. 10AM only one other person here. outside seating has very uncomfortable metal chairs that are too low for the tables. humid and uncomfortable outside. drip coffee was like a gas station. $15 for breakfast sandwich and small coffee with tax, tip. had not been here in several years. what a decline. perhaps they are planning to close as it sure feels like it. much better choices in and around Broad Ripple. only redeeming factor was window employee was very nice...Took my sandwich and left. Would give 0 stars if possible. edit..ate sandwich at a different coffee shop. it was delicious. Try to give credit when it is due. read more

This spot is cuuuttteee! I love the cozy atmosphere nestled in a little Broad Ripple Bungalow. There are only 6 tables so be prepared to get pretty close to the people around you. Definitely wouldn't recommend for a larger group or if you're trying to have any sort of private conversation. It's just perfect for a party of two looking for a spot to cozy in! Cozy, comfy, coffee, cinnamon muffins. These four C words (well, three words and one phrase) describe Perk Up to me. I like to drop in during a weekday morning because I can find parking easily and it's not too crowded. It's nice when few things stand between me and acquiring caffeine. I love their cinnamon sugar muffins. They have several different kinds, but the cinnamon sugar ones are the best. They're the ones wrapped with the yellow twist-tie! They dispense their coffee from carafes, so you can choose your own. I like the French vanilla coffee, but there's always a dark roast, regular roast and decaf option available, too. There are tables and big, comfy chairs inside, but there are also tables outside on their deck if you're so inclined to enjoy your coffee and muffin al fresco. Perk Up is right off the Monon Trail, so if you're siting outside, you can usually see lots of people go by. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop along the Monon. They have a little carry out window so it makes it very easy to stop by when I'm out walking my pup. They always have water out for him. Today I was standing off the to the side taking a phone call for a few minute before I ordered and a barista came out the side to give my dog an individual bowl of water bc it was a hot day. Such a cute little gem nestled off the strip but just off the Monon. I stopped in while my bike was being worked on at Bike Line. I had walked by Perk Up many times before I finally stopped in today. The friend I was meeting up with suggested that we went here, and I am so happy we did. As soon as I walked in I immediately felt at home. It was as if I went over to my friends house for coffee and we were sitting in their living room just chatting. The ambiance was incredibly comfortable and inviting. I ordered a medium coffee, and decided to give their whites chocolate raspberry roast a try. It was out of this world - I continue to think about how good it was, and it's only a matter of time before I head back to Perk Up so I can buy a pound of these beans to take home! I am amazed they roast their own beans in house, and you can definitely taste how fresh the coffee is! I wish I would have tried some of the food they had because it all looked and sounded so incredibly good! And did I mention they make all of their breads and baked goods in house too?! How cool is that! I will be back soon to try their baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and their cakes (which they have available Sundays from 1-3!). The only drawback of Perk Up is that they don't have WiFi. They want to foster organic conversations, which is their reasoning behind not offering free WiFi. Honestly, not having WiFi didn't bother me, but if I was going to Perk Up to work on some things it would be a bit of a problem, but nothing that couldn't be avoided by planning ahead! read more

Easily becoming one of my favorite coffee shops in Broad Ripple for several reasons. Let's start with parking. As Broad Ripple continues to get even more crowded parking is always tough. Since Perk Up is slightly off the main area I have never once had any issue getting a spot. I have gone at all different times of the day with no issues. The coffee. Boy is it good!! The mint Monon is just perfect. Not too minty but the perfect flavor added in. Their cold brew is also great (and bonus comes with a cute little straw). Only negative I find is you can't go inside yet. They do have some limited outdoor seating. But no restrooms right now. Hopefully that changes soon but I understand why so as of now it's my spot for coffee to go or coffee and a walk read more

I've only been in once, at the recommendation of a friend. I ordered an iced Dirty Hippie (basically a dirty chai) with oat milk. It tasted great, but the service was super lackluster. If I'm paying $7 for a coffee, I expect peppier service. I even made it a point to tell them I'd never been there before and asked for recommendations. This was my first time coming to this bakery. I could smell the coffee walking up. Ordered the vegetarian quiche and the white knight. I was told 8 minutes, so I walked around looking at my cell. I heard someone say quiche, but didn't think anything of it since there were people in line, maybe one of them was ordering one. I heard It again and turned to hear an employee say that she "waiting for me to listen". I was taken back by the rude comment so much that I said thanks and quickly left. This is the typical Sunday spot for my fellow grad students and me. It's quiet, it has a gorgeous patio for taking a study break, and it's right next to the Monon for a post-work walk or jog. Their coffee is OK, but I enjoy the rest of their drinks, especially the cafe au lait, which comes in a a huge bowl for drinking out of. The owners are german and they make fresh, homemade, German cakes and pantries. They also have an extensive breakfast/brunch/lunch list so you can fuel up on not just coffee, but also carbs. The staff is very sweet and friendly (they get to know their customers quickly) and there is typically plenty of room to spread out all of your study materials. All the patrons are very close together in Perk Up, so it easily feels familiar and welcoming. As a final plus, they are also dog friendly! read more

I tried the grilled cheese sandwhich is was made with 4 different cheeses on whole wheat bread. Delicious. Those with me had the Dirty Hippie and thoroughly enjoyed it. They also tried the deluxe egg sandwich and was pleased they could substitute Turkey for the bacon. They deemed the sandwich outstanding. It's a cozy space, friendly staff, always looks like good food but I've never had it, and it's steps from the Monon! Met a friend here for quiet conversation and he was surprised it was as busy as it was on a Sunday around noon. It was my first time here, but he says normally it's a bit less crowded. I ordered a large mint mocha (light on mint) and he ordered an espresso. We waited about 10-12 min, which again, was apparently longer than "normal" but they brought it to us. They have high tops with stools, low tables and chairs and a couple cozy chairs. It's a small, intimate place. Next time I'll try some baked goods, and their specials are posted on a sign outside on the deck as one walks in. On that end of the Monon, parking was plentiful; it's directly across the street from the Trail. I much prefer a little independent coffee shop to Sbx, so I'll likely be back. read more

This small cafe offers a great variety of coffee drinks that can get your day going! The staff is extremely nice and helpful. I told the barista that it was my first time there and she gave me some advice as to what drinks I could try. I ended up getting the White Knight Iced, and it was delicious! The best part- they don't screw you over like some coffee shops where they fill the entire cup with ice. The majority of my iced coffee was coffee! I experienced a mild case of price shock at the register ($5.75), but quickly recovered after my first sip. The only downside- They are only open until 2 p.m. on Mon-Sat. I wish they were opened a little later! Next time I go, I will want to try either their sandwiches or pastries! read more

My wife and I have been coming here for years to enjoy the German coffee time, "Kaffeeklatsch" that is held on Sunday afternoon starting at 1pm. The wonderful owners of this shop create a selection of German pastries during this time. Each week, the variety changes. They have a keen eye for quality and a traditional focus. The place is a converted older house and is quite cozy. The space is well maintained with the "dining room" offering ample enough seating for the size. The coffee drink selection is typical but well executed. If you have the chance or the inclination, try the traditional German breads on offer here when they come available. For Christmas, try the stollen bread. Recommendations: Everything. I have never been disappointed with any of the offerings. German cheesecakes, apricot cookies, pretzels, farmer's bread, rye and bee sting pastries. Great, great stuff served by a friendly staff and made with true love. read more

I have seen this coffee shop on Yelp a few times and thought today that I would give it a try! All I can say is...delicious!! Perk Up Cafe has transformed an old into a perfect little cozy coffee shop. There are plenty of tables with comfy chairs for enjoying your daily coffee. They also have a very cute patio that I bet becomes quite crowded in the summer. I opted for the iced coffee and a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg and American cheese. The coffee was the perfect blend of strong and smooth. I added a tiny bit of sugar and it could not have been more perfect! The breakfast sandwich was truly amazing. Simple, yet delicious. The bread was toasted on a panini maker and the egg, bacon and cheese were all fresh. I could eat this sandwich daily! Overall, I am extremely impressed with Perk Up and cannot believe this is my first visit. I will definitely be back and cannot wait to try more coffee and sandwiches. A friend and I were out exploring Broad Ripple, so naturally we wanted to start off our day with a coffee and then hop onto the trail.  It's pretty crowded inside, but we were able to find a table and wait for our drinks.  I got a small mint mocha and my friend had a medium dirty hippie.  The service was super fast, we didn't wait more than a few minutes and their were quite a few people in front of us! My coffee was good.  I was a little unsure if I'd like mint and coffee together, but it totally works!  I tried the dirty hippie and it was good too, however it wasn't $6 good.  It tasted like a cappuccino you get from a gas station,  which I have been known to like, but they aren't $6.  I didn't have a bad experience here, it just wasn't anything special. read more

I stopped in here today for the first time after having it on my "To Try" for years! After a long morning walk on the Monon, an iced coffee sounded fabulous to start off my morning. I popped in here with my stroller (the ramp is super helpful for this!). Their coffee menu is impressive as is their machinery. I almost went with the Dirty Hippie (chai tea + espresso) but went with an Iced Latte on a lark. It was SO delicious and refreshing. I usually don't finish all of my coffee drinks, but I slurped up all of this yummy treat. The fun twisty straw was a bonus! I also ordered a turkey panini with a side of cottage cheese for some nosh and it was very good. Sliced turkey deli meat, avocado, herby mayo, tomato on crispy wheat bread made this sandwich one to remember! I loved sitting out on their patio, cooling off, enjoying my meal and catching the sights of mid-morning Broad Ripple. It made for a very pleasant morning. I came here yesterday with my friend! It is a little coffee shop, tucked away past La Piedad and the other main attractions. I ordered a "velvet elvis" smoothie that consisted of peanut butter, pineapple juice and banana! Woooweee, that was yummy (and normally I don't like peanut butter). My friend ordered the fruitopia smoothie and it was not anything to write home about. We both ordered the veggie sandwich with chips and it was delicious. I would have loved to see different bread used but I ordered what I got. I would say it was a little pricey for a small coffee shop but it was still good. The service was okay and the decor wasn't amazing. They do have this really awesome patio that you can sit on but the inside is a little dark and crowded. I used to looooove Perk but it just seems to keep going down hill. The prices keep going up while the cup sizes get smaller. I ordered the White Knight (which I've gotten hundreds of times over the years and used to love). I heard the baristas say they added double the syrups on accident but thought it was fine. It was not good at all. $7 coffee in the trash. This is not the first time in the past few months the coffee hasn't been good. Java house down the street is so much better now. read more

This is an extremely cute, little coffee shop in BR. They are dog friendly, which me and my wife both love, and my wife has been raving about this place ever since she went the first time. They have a great amount of coffee, homemade breads and muffins, as well as offer a nice amount of sandwiches for lunch and dinner.
