I've eaten at several Perkin's Restaurants over the years. I'm not really a fan of the food at this one. It was okay, but not great. The blueberry pancakes and bacon were good. I ordered my scrambled eggs dry and they were not dry. My husband ordered eggs Benedict with hash browns and fruit. The fruit was all melons with a couple of grapes. The hash browns were nowhere near brown. They were pretty much shredded potato that sat under a warming lamp. I don't think they ever saw a grill. He said the eggs Benedict was bland and hardly even warm. Coffe was weak. The server was attentive which is why I gave 3 stars. We won't visit again. If you're starving and willing to make do you'll get fed but I can't tell you that you'll enjoy it. read more

We are traveling from Virginia to Texas and Perkins, which I have not been to in 30 years, was right across the street. Our waitress was Diona and she was one of the best waitresses I have ever experienced. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast and my wife had the steak and eggs, both were amazing. We waited for 10 minutes to be seated. No one came to check the front so there was a line of us just waiting. Then once seated and ordered we noticed that all the tables after us were receiving their food first. The food was much better than you would expect it to be. The flavor was perfect. The steam on the vegetables was exactly the way I like it. There was no problem with the food. They even gave me.co.plimentary pie as it was (is, as of this writing) my Birthday. The only thing I had any issue with, preventing a 5 star rating was the cleanliness. There were booths that obviously needed cleaned better. The carpet looked lile it needed a good cleaning There were crumbs and food particles on the floor under tables. IT WAS NOT FILTHY. We stop here for a late meal (10PM) while traveling through and we're met with friendly faces. The food we ordered was fresh and good. We finished our meal off with pie and coffee. We didn't see our waiter for 40 minutes. My turkey slices were burnt pieces of leather. My mashed potatoes were hot but came out of microwave. My dressing was cold. My husband ordered the cod fish and shrimps. They were burnt to a crisp. The waiter never did come back to check on us. We had to go to the register to get our ticket. read more

I asked for the build your own starter with double chicken strips and was told by the server that they were not allowed to put the order in that way. What a gem of a place. Victoria waited on us and she couldn't have been sweeter. The only reason we picked this place is because it was within walking distance from our hotel. We figuired if worse came to worse how bad could they mess up a burger. Well I can admit when I am wrong and boy was I wrong. The place was clean. We were seated right away. It took us a while to order but everything looked so good. I took a chance and got the beef stroganoff... wow it was so yummy.... I had to stop myself from licking the plate. Please understand that I don't usually get on these rating sites unless it's really, really good or really, really bad. As for this particular restaurant, it was really, REALLY Bad! This was our first time at this restaurant and it will be our last. We will NEVER eat there again! Not Ever!!! I have NEVER had as nasty of a waitress as we had at this restaurant in my life. Never! She had a horrible attitude, she spoke to us like we were garbage, she slammed our plates on the table, ect, ect. For example, and I swear I'm being honest here...I asked her how much it would be if I had two eggs scrambled with hash browns. She said, per batum, "I don't know. I don't know what the prices are. So what do you want?!" I said, "Well I don't know..." Then my mother in law said very kindly, "Ma'am, I think he wants to know if you could find out how much it would cost." So this woman drops her arms to her sides and let's out a very audible and labored sigh and stomps off. And this is how the meal went for the most part until towards then end when she began to be condescending and speaking in tones that were exhibiting waaaay too much "sugar" in her voice. This was probably because she heard us talking to each other about how nasty she was treating us and why that could be. Now one may think that maybe she was having a bad day or something like that but I heard the way she was talking to some folks sitting in a booth directly behind my parents in law and she was as kind to them as one could expect. So we're thinking it was just us. But why? I have no idea except that maybe we were from Missouri and she doesn't"t like Missourians. In any event, we will never go there again. As for the food well we only ordered the hash browns loaded and they were too salty and greasy. The coffee was as strong as Hardees which is very strong also. I didn't mind the coffee as I rather like strong coffee. But the parents did not like it at all. They even had to water it down to make it drinkable. Needless to say this female did NOT get a tip at all. I left nothing. And my parents in law are always kidding with me about how much I tip because they think I overtip too often. All in all...ZERO STARS!!! And if you decide to go there I hope your experience is better than ours. read more
