This was actually a super good trip to Perkins, it had been so long I forgot how good it could be which was great because we actually only stopped because nothing else was open today. We were sat very quickly, had a clean table, and a friendly server who kept our drinks full and got the orders correct. The food we got was very good; I didn't order the steak expecting anything great but it was really pretty good. This is our current go-to for comfort food. Let me tell you! These servers are talented! I doubt they need gym time, after all the amazing shuffling of orders they do. Talk about strength! They have mad skills when it comes to trays and food orders! We are never disappointed with the food and they usually have great coupons.... but the Coconut Cream Pie!!! Yes, please! I just want you to know that I am not a big fan of Perkin's, however, I have been at several locations since I am visiting from California. I have been to this one on Buffalo Road, Erie, several times, per request of the elderly couple (Age: 87 and 89) I am visiting. Looking at the reviews on Yelp of Perkin's in general, this chain is not favored by many. The focus of this review is this particular restaurant, that has an overall rating of 1.5 stars. The restaurant is nicely laid out, very clean, and have ADA restrooms and nice tables. Every time I have been in here, regardless of time, the primary customer appears to be elderly and all the servers know them by name. The food is OK, but not great. Orange juice is from concentrate, coffee is not very strong-watery, oatmeal taste like instant they mix in a bowl, deep fried items (pickles, fries, etc) taste like they are frozen. Everytime we order something, it doesn't come out the way we order. Example: No butter on pancakes-butter, crispy bacon-burnt and dry and the list goes on. This to me is not that important, as cooks get busy. The service has always been outstanding and you can't beat their baked goods. Because of the outstanding customer focused servers and how accommodating they are to the disabled and elderly, a well deserved 4 stars! If the food was better (not restaurants fault-they have to prepare the way corporate dictates), it would be a 5 star review. If it is between Denny's and Perkin's-I recommend this Perkin's on Buffalo Road. read more

The Perkins on Peach is the best restaurant in Erie. They open at 6 am every morning, including holidays. They have the best waitresses in the morning. I get awesome service. The cooks are great. Stopped for late lunch. Both my friend and I ordered the potato pancakes. I ordered onion rings for us to share and we both had coffee. Used to really like the potato pancakes but these were soggy, no flavor, not good at all, mostly pancake batter, barely tasted anything like potatoes, and had no flavor, no onions in them, and then were charged for a side of sour cream that always came with them before. Seriously perkin"s , you can buy pint of sour cream for 1.69 at the grocery, and we were charged .99 each for a tablespoons worth, what a rip off. When I addressed this with the server, her answer was that"s just the way it is, doesn"t come with anymore. I didn"t eat mine, was not offered an alternative, so I brought them home to try and docter them up with some scallions (green onions), to give them some flavor, and cooked them longer in a fry pan to try to get rid of the sogginess, and make a little crisp, didn"t help much. I normally enjoy my experience at perkins, but this was not one of them, nor my friends either. Both being senoirs, its hard enough to afford lunch out these days. My bill for 3 potato pancakes, an order of onion rings and coffee was almost 22.00, 26.00 with the tip. Now lunch out anywhere these days seems to run on average about 17.00 for 1 person. I didn"t care much for the flippant attitude I got when I asked why we were charged for the sour cream, but the server doesn"t make those decisions, but should have been offered an alternative since I had maybe taken 2 bites to figure these were not how they should have been. It gets very trying these days to get something to be made right when you put out this kind of money for a meal. Just not right. Perkins you can do better by your customers! read more

It's been a long time since I've eaten at perkins. I quit going because of bad service, bad food, and it was over priced. So I decided to stop the other morning to see if anything changed. I was seated right away and I ordered blue berry pancakes. It took 15 minutes to get them and I was the only one there. So I guess don't go if ti.e is a factor. When I finally get my pancakes they were pretty small and they hardly had any blue berry's in them. So let's get to the cost.,,, For 3 small blue berry pancakes with few blueberries Was 8 dollars. I fell this is little expensive for what I got. I will not be back any time soon. read more

This place is terrible the food its self is ok. But the customer service is terrible. The assistant manager at the harborcreek location in Erie, PA is the worst. I also do doordash and grubhub and drove clear across town it took almost 15 minutes to get there and then after I got there I waited another 10 minutes to talk to someone even though they weren't that busy, and then an additional 30 minutes to get the food and when I asked what took so long the assistant manager said we are busy eventhough it wasnt busy by any means read more

I recently had lunch with a fellow chap of mine at this Perkins location. I decided to try something new and went for the Honey Mustard Chicken and Bacon Sandwich. When I took the first bite I was surprised due to the fact that all I tasted was chicken, bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes. One thing was missing and that was the main ingredient... The HONEY MUSTARD.
