This place is country. Super country. As Meg W. has mentioned, it's not the most attractive place, which seems to fit the super country vibe very well. Repeat visits have been delicious. I frequent this place anywhere from two to four times a month (with a friend). Their burgers are satisfying (but not magically so) and the server who always takes our orders has an amazing memory. It's almost bordering on being a Jedi mind trick with that one. She's not the friendliest lady, but considering how expeditious her service is, I don't really care that she keeps her interactions with us to a minimum. They have specials each day. For example, I believe it's Tuesday(s) when they have Chicken Fried Steak (+ two sides + salad/soup + garlic bread) for $7.00ish. You can't beat that bang for your buck(s), although you can definitely beat the greasiness of it all. But I'm assuming you don't go to a diner like this because you're wanting to watch your figure. Occasionally, (my friend and) I get stared down by some of the patrons. They look as if they would prefer a little more vanilla and a little less chocolate in the establishment. No that's wrong, I consider myself to be more amaretto than chocolate. Or it could be because I'm always dressed up when I walk in here. Either way, I get stared at. I stare back and smile; it makes them break eye contact. Recently I ordered a meal to go. I told them I wanted green beans, and a vegetable medley for my sides. The lady on the phone responded, "We don't have... Yeah, okay." I didn't think about this slip of the tongue until I got home, because when I opened the container, I found green beans, and mashed 'taters. What kind of tomfoolery is this? Yet, there was still enough food that I was left satisfied even without eating the mashed 'taters. Moral of the story: check your order before you leave. Cheap. Tasty. Greasy. 24 hours. Perry is a genius to have opened a 24 hour restaurant right by the college. They have nasty, greasy delicious damn food. I shared a plate of fried mushrooms with my pal and ordered the vegetable omelet with hash browns and sliced tomatoes (I do believe this was the only vegetarian option on the menu save salads and sides). I felt like total dookie afterwards because my dinner was so unhealthy but I spent $7. Fantastic. The inside is ugly as hell and they play terrible country music and we were seated near the bathrooms and the smell was a great reminder of that. It wasn't a nasty bathroom smell. It was a cleaner/cheap air freshener smell that loomed out into the dining area of the restaurant. We sat and studied for a few hours and had a great waitress plus a VERY filling and cheap dinner. The atmosphere is pretty terrible and makes you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere at a truck stop but it is well worth it. Pulling into the parking lot, I noticed the bittersweet sight of a full parking lot. Bittersweet in the fact that, while I knew our wait would be longer than desired, the food must be wonderful. We stepped in and were seated rather quickly. The atmosphere was classic southern diner style. It is clean and rustic and I really like the old school diner vibe. Even with the long wait (and I mean it was packed!) we were tended too rather swiftly. We had our food I'm about 20 minutes and that is where the experience lifted off! The pancakes were phenomenal! The bacon was crispy and piled high and the eggs were almost fresh off the farm. It is good, classic American fare and made well! I really enjoyed the food. The service was somewhat less than great so I feel like, were the service better, it would get a 5/5. PS: My GF and I escaped for $22! A similar breakfast would easily top $35 at IHOP. read more

This place is so awesome! It's a local spot for students that go to MACU! We love to swing by and get some yummy homey food! They have delicious breakfast and INCREDIBLE CINNAMON ROLLS! The will even heat them up for you and the cream cheese frosting is soooo yummy! The service is great and everyone is very happy to serve you! Had to wait for the rental car until 5, and this place was conveniently located a $7 uber ride from the airport, and meals were tasty and large in portions. Found this place by accident and the parking lot was packed on a Saturday morning. Had to park in the back. My breakfast was excellent and the price was right. I had 2 eggs over medium, bacon, 4 pieces came out and cooked right, hash browns, and brisket, looked home made and big and the gravy was great. Tried to eat at Perry's today because I've heard pretty good things. We walked in to an almost empty place and waited. And waited. And waited. While we were waiting, we noticed a gentleman, I'm assuming the owner, yelling at some people in the back. Well that's nice. Anyway, he kind of pushes past us without an "excuse me" and heads out the front door. A young waitress comes to seat us. As we are walking to our booth, we notice it is getting hotter and hotter. We sit down and ask about the air. The waitress tells us that the owner won't fix it. She also tells us that it was completely broken last week and it had gotten up to 92 degrees in there. My husband and I always stop in at 24/7 diners when we find them. We came across Perry's on the internet during a road trip and just had to stop in. Both of us ordered the chicken fried steak with hash browns and eggs. My husband got a side of biscuits and gravy while I got the toast. MAN WAS IT A TASTY NOM. There was hair baked into our food and the manager got bad at me for suggesting hair nets for anyone who entered the kitchen area to avoid food being baked into the food! She told me I know nothing about the restaurant business (I manage 5 locations) I asked the manager to walk away so I could leave, she started raising her voice and telling me she doesn't have to walk away and continued to badger me the whole way to the register!!! Very disappointed!!! We had driven past this place and wanted to try it for a while. We should have kept driving. For starters, the waitress was about the most unfriendly I've ever had anywhere. The food was greasy and had no flavor. The only thing good was the dinner salad that came before the meal and it was just lettuce, a cherry tomato and some croutons. Can't really mess that up. The chicken fried steak appeared to have been a frozen patty. The breading was greasy and had separated from the meat which was mushy. I don't expect pristine conditions but I do expect the tables to be wiped down between seatings. I ordered bacon, eggs, rye toast and hash browns. Standard fare. Nothing complicated. The bacon was very, very, very underdone. The eggs rubbery. The rye toast just toasted enough to dry it out but not to add color. The hash browns were cooked in old oil. It left a foul aftertaste, as old oil does. I couldn't proceed much beyond tasting each...except the bacon. Just couldn't put semi-raw greasy, fat in my system. Perry's is just like a old-time diner in a small town. We have visited them for breakfast at all times of day, whenever we were anywhere near, and often it would be our only destination from downtown. The food is always great, well-cooked and delicious. The eggs are very fresh, the coffee, hash browns or french fries, link sausages, ham and Texas toast are scrumptious. We had cheeseburgers with french fries or shrimp a few times, and they were really good as well. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. It's a great deal, in fact, and I would recommend this simple diner to anyone visiting Oklahoma City. Though this restaurant is surprisingly large, the parking lot is always full any time of the day, so people in OKC know how good it is. Visited Perrys for the first time today and left very satisfied. While this family owned restaurant is showing some wear, the tables were clean and service was friendly and fast. My "go-to" breakfast item is chicken fried steak. When visiting a breakfast restaurant for the first time, a good CFS will ensure another visit, a mediocre one will dull my enthusiasm. My wife ordered a veggie omelet and we varied our sides to try as many as possible. The results were good. The CFS was not huge but large enough to share. It was tasty, as were the hash browns. The side pancakes were average, nothing special but good enough. My wife was very pleased with her veggie omelette and while it's not my favorite, I had to admit hers was pretty good. Her home fries were tasty and the waitress was kind enough to steer her away from the canned fruit cocktail, with her taking tomatoes instead. Speaking of service, our waitress was excellent and I couldn't help but notice she knew the names of several customers. That's impressive. Overall, Perrys was a very good experience and far better than local breakfast chains. We plan to be regulars. read more

I have been a pretty regular customer at this location for several years. The decor is very diner-ish but the staff is friendly and efficient. The location is convenient and despite being off I-240 it doesn't pull in the obnoxious, after 2am crowd from clubs on or near the highway. Never had any issues with the food other than the sweetened iced tea is sometime too sweet for my liking. Location has no wifi but I don't see it being that desirable to the usuals who frequent the place. I have never seen many college kids in the place by the college across the street is a community college with few classes after evening hours and it has no dorms. I suspect if you go in the afternoon you might see some. The menu reminds me of the long-since departed Kettle Restaurants but minus the famous Kettle buffet - a fair number of grilled options and the usual breakfast items like omelettes, etc. read more

This is a solid late night eatery, but if I have other options during the day I'll probably take them. I ordered a burger and my husband ordered a steak. The burger was okay, and the steak was meh. I saw breakfast options being served up at another table and wished I'd gone that direction. This place is 24/7 and was pretty packed when we ate a late lunch at 2:30 pm on a Sunday. First off. It's not nearly as country designed as everyone has claimed. Guess they updated their decore. My hashbrowns were a little burnt, but nothing to totally complain about. Everything else was awesome and for as busy as they were, we got seated fast and our drinks fast. I did have to remind the waitress about the milk I ordered, but still wasn't no biggie. Breakfast was good all around. We'll come back to try other menu items. They're open 24 hours too. It's good to see a small chain being open 24 hours. They're really worth it for a quick lunch spot. I wanted to try a new restaurant so my fiancé and me went to Perry's Restaurant and it was the most disgusting food. I ordered the Ham and Cheese omelette when I got it, I ate the flavorless hashbrowns and two triangles of bread, I did not like the actual omelette. The omelette tasted like bologna and eggs, when I confronted the waitress that I didn't like the omelette and wanted eggs and some sausage links instead she pointed me out to the owner and the went on to tell her co-workers that today isn't the day and she wasn't putting up with it. So I got my eggs and sausage which to was horrible so we just got up because I didn't feel like being pointed out again for not liking the food. At the cash register I simply asked her if we could only pay for the things that I ate such as the hashbrowns and two pieces of triangular toast. She in return rolled her eyes and went to get the owner who yelled in my face repeatedly my food is good, what else can I make for you. At this point I had already made up my mind after two plates of food that the food at Perry's Restaurant was not good. We ended up paying full price for the omelette and my fiancé's food which he didn't eat the omelette either. This is the worst place to eat and I will not go back, next time I will eat at IHop where they know how to treat customers. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I will never go back. A friend and I went on a Thursday morning and it wasn't bad at all. Their biscuits are pre-made & looked like a dinner rolls but still edible. I have read previous comments and I agree if your not a regular you get looked at like your from another planet and I definitely got stared at! The service was okay and could be A LOT better but you can tell the difference in the way the wait staff treats the regulars v the none regulars!!! So... I became aware of my incredible craving for a Monte Cristo sandwich a couple of hours ago. I called the first and closest diner I came across- Perry's and to my excitement they told me with an upcharge they could make me a Monte Cristo. So psyched. Now I'm here. The bagged fried mushrooms are fine. Our server is young. I tried ordering from our hostess because she had not announced herself. No idea what my server's name is- young, untrained. As is the norm these days. With the service industry switching to this bi-weekly paycheck crap it's quickly losing its appeal. Watching our server clean the table across from us- just appearing to do it- basic- is upsetting my acid reflux. Please communicate with your staff and give them a sense of service appreciation, and don't effing tell your customers you can make a frackin Monte Cristo, when you sure as cripes aren't making one for me.
